I also used prioritise ray tracing/resolution mode with VRR enabled, because in the original 120 mode comparison made by Digital Foundry, PS5 was struggling to keep stable 120FPS in this mode. But, I also added one clip from Prioritise Frame Rate mode with VRR on.
Update’s coming next week. Kaz Yamauchi just announced it on Twitter. GT already looks incredible with or without RT. The Pro has higher frame rates of course, but the normal PS5 performs very well (including the PS4), so it’s nothing too special. Whatever is your preference, just simply enjoy.
Exactly my point .. this game doesn't really need extras cuz the game is better in every way of looks. Rt on gameplay will not make anything exclusive cuz at the end you do is drive for a win ...

Weird the PS5 Pro has this 7-8 second rhythm to when it drops frame rates. Happens regardless of anything critical changing on screen. What could be the driver of that?
Before the patch the pro runs it now at a native 4k with almost 120fps locked. On the old ps5 it runs at 1440p ( source Digital foundry ) i think with a good optimization it will run at locked 120fps on the pro. I found the picture and performance already a lot better on the PSVR2. Hope they will bring out the new patch soon 🙏🏻🔥🔥
Drops in performance in the same areas indicate CPU-bound limitations, regardless of how much more powerful the GPU is. I imagine that if Sony had equipped the PS5 Pro with a newer CPU architecture, such as a hybrid of Zen 3 with higher clock speeds, the performance drops would not have been as significant. It's good to see a direct 1:1 comparison though. Even pre-patch is showing a 15-20fps average uplift. With more patches and firmware optimizations for the PS5 Pro, I believe Polyphony Digital should be able to extract more performance from the system.

It feels smoother reflections are better like I said before you can actually see the carbon on the cars in gameplay replays all that The sky looks better the rays of sun coming through the clouds before it rains Just everything the particles the reflections the way the car sound the feelings is different definitely a difference if you don't have the TV you don't have the TV

Thanks to the dynamic resolution the resolution on the pro is also higher along with the frame rate. Also the reason why there is drops in performance on the Pro is because of the higher rendering resolution and the game trying to keep up pre-Pro patch.

Paying twice dosen’t mean twice the perfomence, thats pretty much how everything works regardless of what is about. Its pretty much the same as ex my 7900 xtx cost half the price of gtx 4090, and you get mostly only 20% improvments with 4090 in many games Only when using raytracing its a larger difference, but i dont care for raytracing, its perfomence killer.
I could also analyze every possible mode scenario (RT with VRR, RT without VRR, Perfomance with VRR and Performance without VRR) but what's the point of doing all this work, a few days before an actual PS5 Pro patch?

Some weirdness in PD's dynamic resolution load balancer? Maybe the Pro is running the game at a higher resolution than base?

Elgato 4K Pro supports VRR passthrough. FPS reading I got through trdrop and it's close to what I saw on my LG monitor.

Why fps becomes lower every 7~8 seconds on PS5 Pro?
So, this proves that with RT, we are getting well above 60fps in replays. Why couldn't we have that in game on base ps5?

Pretty superficial video. You could have done a heavy rain stress test starting from the grid with 20 cars.

It gives you a decent idea of the gains you get pre patch. Any in depth analysis isn't really needed when a pro patch is coming.
If you want a full stress test then wait for the patch
