I think I'll make a choice next spring on what's gonna be my next action cameras. Right now I leaning towards the Action 4 as prices will drop even more for the used market. Most will get the Action 5 and so the 4 will be more cheap. Don't care about the last itteration, as I thing the Action 4 will do the job for me. Not to mention that I plan to buy at least three.
I was thinking about getting an action camera and noticed the price drop so I figured something was going on with a new release. I wonder what the price will be?
oh well.. DJI is just catching up with Insta 360. That's the bottom line. Good but not enough. As I unboxed the Ace Pro few days ago, Ace pro may lack that 1- 5 x manual zoom feature and the Pro mode (in DJI), it's UI is very straight forward and not confusing. And the night video performance is just great. If Action 5 Pro is just at par, Insta will still take the lead i think. I heard from a source from Korea that, Insta Ace Pro 2 will be released in October. Having a fair competition is always good for the end users. It shows, GoPro is in real trouble now threatening their existence. Thanks for the video Bro.
Insta360 is complete garbage. In every aspect except low light, it's 8 years behind. Picture, color, stabilization. It's actually painful to watch. It's a one trick pony for low light and that's it.

Hello there, actually the strategy on releasing the cameras for a Brand or another isn't something fixed. On the live as you said, i mentioned that acepro2 will be after dji action 5 pro, and probably few days after maybe on Sept 24... Insta360 decided to release the webcam, and that is not bad to increase the hype Abt the ace pro2. We all know that the sales of webcams isn't so high compared to action cams, and with the new webcam, we see the audio technology the voice isolation and so on... That will be most probably in the ace pro2 so if you want an action cam before the Oct 1st I highly recommend ace pro, it's a great camera and you can get extra gifts with my link. I am not paid by insta360 because I can tell you get action 4 or 5 via my affiliate links as well but I'm being honest... I know when travelling we want to film from the inside of the car , inside of a train, night walks, and ace pro is awesome for that and now it is on sale
I'm definitely looking forward to the Action 5, and I can't wait for the review of the ACE PRO 2. The ACE PRO 2 has two AI chips that easily dominate, but I can't count out the Action 5. When is the ace pro 2 gonna drop? By October? Please definitely compare the Action 5 to the 4 and especially to the ace pro!!! For the record, I’m happy with my Pocket 3 & my GoPro 12, and definitely my next camera will very likely be Ace pro but I’m VERY curious about the action 5.
The 13.5 stops of dynamic range peaked my interest the most, action 4 maxed out at 10.5 in d-logM, 13 is in the range of full sized professional cameras
@@photorabz maybe, no mention of an HDR mode in any leaks or the packaging. Action 4 didn't have an HDR mode and it was on par with the GoPro which does. So the 13.5 stops would indicate a massive improvement in dynamic range
@@photorabz ai chip, same sensor size but it can still be superior to the last generation one, the lens on the action 5 is also bigger than action 4. Same reason some phones have good dynamic range and low light despite having tiny sensors due to size limitations. There is still a lot of room for improvement and optimization even with the same sensor. Insta 360 already released an action cam with a one I ch sensor years ago, it wasn't implemented well and so it failed
I think that the DJI Osmo action 5 pro will be the winner for the simple reason that it has more battery capacity, OLED screens and above all the ability to do live streams and the most important thing is D-log, which gives professionals a lot of freedom when it comes to color grading. No other action cam has these specifications to date. What do you think?
Let me put it very simply. This will have the same video quality as the 4. There are only 2 upgrades. It will have the same dedicated built-in wireless receiver for the mic 2 as the Pocket 3. It will have better battery life. That's it. For me that makes it worth buying.

Pixel binding for different modes be it daytime or night time. 8k picture quality with 40 megapixel sensor. Battery life is improved by 50%. It's a substantial upgrade over the action 4, we'll see how it performs in real world scenarios soon
I've been a GoPro user from day one but a dji drone user from the Mavic air. One thing that stopped me from moving to dji action was the lack of a pass through door to extend battery life via a powerbank. Hopefully this new action 5 with it's suggested 4 hour battery will resolve that. I've sold all my GoPro stuff in preparation for the move to dji.

There's really no necessity in making a camera dependent upon a Phone App to function. Still I appreciate YOUR reviews. Not your fault these manufacturers do this.

Everybody's using the term AI for everything at the moment it's the in thing. Most of the time none of it is actual AI. It is what it is. you and I know what's happening.
It is the first time they mention dimension of the chip that reminds me of ace pro 5nm AI chip. But dji used powerful instead. And this is the game changer if it is an ai chip
@@photorabz As I only have been using GoPro with GoProLabs firmware, I can sync each camera using the QRControl app as many as I need at the time of the shoot. All clock times and timecodes then will match up by the time I get to post. Is there a phone app that will do that for the Action 3 or 4? The only app I saw can only connect 2 action cams at once. Also, what is not clear is where the timecode data is stored, or is it just using the timestamp of the file?

track focus should be an interesting feature. because action cam only has fixed focus before this..
Focus track means moving elements. And they can't add this in a rugged action camera

Well if you use timecode, you can sync as much as u want on the computer whether davinci resolve, Adobe premiere or final cut

The tc is stored in the file. When I sync on davinci I use sync on time code
