    Which program do you think is best?

    • @cliffw995
      @cliffw995 5 лет назад +5

      Darius Med I honestly do think Mac is the best program. It’s progressive and seems to be very adaptable to students’ specific needs, lifestyles, and learning styles. That’s pretty huge, and I think certainly sets it apart as a program. The other programs are great and, as you say, Ontario is blessed. I just think Mac is better because of a well rounded input and output. However, I’m sure that it is based on learning style as well, and someone looking for more lecture and structure rather than PBL may thrive more in a more traditional program. Great vid as always! Thanks for all your effort!

I was also thinking of implementing a Q&A during each vlog I have so maybe I'll include one of your questions during it. If its more personal, message me on instagram @dariuslameire . All the best!

    Hey Darius, have you heard about the new Integrated Biomedical Engineering and Health Science program? If yes, what are your insights on it and is it a good Med School prep, or is Life Science a better choice. Thanks, good luck with your future studies:)

    • @DariusMed
      @DariusMed  5 лет назад

      Hey, is that program called IBio Med? If so, I have heard good things about the program but also that it is challenging. I think there are 2 streams if its the one I'm thinking about and I think one of the streams (the health sci one) is the better one for medical school. I would honestly pick the one you think you'd be more interested in, because as long as you take the prerequisites, you can get in from any program.

      I definitely can see all the love and hard work you put into this awesome channel! You are 100% a huge part of why I’ll never give up on my dream. Some day I’ll be a doctor. It’s just a matter of time and some baby steps. I’m starting with a paramedic degree in college to see how I do with grades there, then moving on to trying out a pre med undergrad program like biochemistry! Sure hope I can get a high enough gpa to get into med school! I’ve never wanted anything more. I’ve spent a lot of time feeling insignificant or not smart enough just because I didn’t do well in high school. I’m realizing now that I love love love biology and if I put the dedication in I can do anything. Sorry for the long comment!

      I have a whole video I did on the MCAT, you can find that here: ruclips.net/video/Ub3pXfEXAcA/видео.html I think giving your self a minimum of 3 months for the whole MCAT is necessary. If you've forgotten most of it, I would give yourself another 2-3 weeks just to focus solely on those subjects. Lots to cover.

      Hello there! It really depends where you want to apply. In Ontario Canada you need to apply through OMSAS which is the portal for medical school applications in Ontario. If there are schools in the United States, you need to apply through AMCAS. The other schools in Canada have their own application programs you just may need to google the specific school. Good luck!

      So sorry for the late response, these comments sometimes get burried. But it really depends. At McMaster they don't have any specific prerequisite classes BUT I also applied to many schools (especially in the states) where they did require specific classes. It all depends on the program and it's best to look on their application pages to see what they need.
