The bird walking in the background while you tried the chicken curry cracked me up! 😂 so cute!
"chicken" curry lol.
Right. Lol 😂
For someone who enjoys trying out multiple variety of food, Mike must be having the time of his life in Singapore 😂
Definitely
All I can say is Mrs. S-D must absolutely enjoy the fine dining experiences with her new husband. Almost every woman absolutely loves to dine out! (especially fine dining) Hence the saying "Wine and Dine".
@@aspenbrooke515 actually I don't enjoy fine dining that much as a women. I prefer casual dining with my family, friends or lover most. For some reason, fine dining is more like a task for me as I need to maintain good posture and dinning ethics.
Not a woman but I cant stand fine dining
@@aspenbrooke515 This is such a weird generalisation.
I just had prata this morning and saw this video!!! This singapore series really made me appreciate the food we have here. Mike’s videos always make my day ✨
Thank you for featuring many 'regular people' foods. The first place, I can only imagine the savoring of every bite. Keep this trend going, I believe it's far more relatable for most of us 😚
Of course, much love to the decadent meals as well.
✌️❤💫
I was inspired to travel outside of my country because of you mike. I'm so glad that I'll be able to fulfill my dream and be in Singapore this coming February 2023😍😍
Happy to hear that you will be visiting Singapore next year. Hope you have a great trip and eat good food during your visit. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Its good for travel not for living.
nice! try tian tian chicken rice and experience singapore's hawker centres
Good for you! 👏
Congratulations!! I hope you have the most incredible experience 🥳🤩✨
I think this is one of my favorite videos. Mike seems to be having the best time. I think he likes the hidden gems the best. 🥰
Such a joy to find a new Mikey Chen video on my feed. Makes my Saturday extra special.
Mikey freestyling on that Thai BBQ! Man is an innovator 👏👏👏👏
I wish I could just travel around the world and just eat and travel 😔. . mike living the dream
Dont drink, don't have kids, and don't have a girlfriend. You too can do this. Also don't get a felony
Just do it!
Also with 4M subscribers, there’s some good RUclips income for Mike. I’m envious.
His video can earn him ten of thousands a month. If only you can
All u need to do is to start. Make a video about street food in your country first then upgrade your mindset. Aim high, fly high butterfly. 🦋
i was preoccupied during the first 2 minutes of the video and was convinced i was hearing ‘piranha buffet’ until the first dish came out 😭
Thank you again , living vicariously through you since this trip began , l
am having a great time.
That's it! I'm officially addicted to watching you present your vids with the detailed descriptions and visuals.
Experiencing the experience just without the calories.
As a Singaporean, we usually just use the same side of the chopsticks to grab and cook the raw food, then "sanitise" it by dipping it into the hot soup, before using the same pair to eat. It was hilarious seeing you use the other side of your chopsticks! The prata place was really value for money too (:
That's works uncooked flavor in the soup. Burger and chicken factories create Ecoli in larger numbers smaller numbers in fresh local food its less likely. How many years has society's been butchering and serving food In hawker type or open markets.
as a notchink its disgusting to see raw chicken next to shrimps
Come back tomorrow to watch Mikey eat hot pot... for the millionth time.
Curry and Prata so good, even pigeons are coming inside to order
3:30
Nice seeing you in person, Mike! Glad you enjoy the food at my regular haunt for prata and the other stuff there.
Usually when you order the parathas - the chix, fish or mutton curry provided comes only as plain gravy,no ingredients included. If you want the chix, fish or mutton pieces you need to pay extra.
This applies to all the paratha shops - in SG only.
Your Singapore food videos are great! 😊
Hi Mikie ...I love traveling with you all around the world to taste other countries cuisine 👍...all the food looked amazing...enjoy and safe travels 😘🤗💙
For mookata, you don't need tongs or flipping your chopsticks around, Mike. You just dip your chopsticks into the boiling soup after handling uncooked food.
@Cai Shen Grandpa That's how it's always been done, you racist.
Another Yum , Yum , YUMMY video ....Thank you pard !😃👍👍
Love that wherever you go in Singapore there will always be a place that sells juicy chicken
You make travelling so much more fun. Got my savings in hand and want to check out all you do ❤
Where is that in Spore? Address please.
Another great video. So many things to try.
I love watching your videos, they are always amazing
That egg yolk over the noodles was an ACE move Mike...great video
I've always been a fan of poached eggs on toast , it's a Canada thing.
@@d3neu Nice...any condiments or just straight up?
3:25😂😂😂😂
the bird just kills me
i am impressed at how you managed to eat 10 pratas. i would be full with just 3
I really enjoy watching your adventures of food around the world 😂😂
I have plans to visit singapore this summer! sooo exciteeeed to eat all these foods
Hi. I do enjoy watching yr SG , food journey episodes. Good job , mate.
I feel like you’re gonna be living in Singapore for an extended period of time, some time soon 😂 Love the choices & thanks for covering/showing the world these less-known stuff of our hawker scene here!!
The man has indeed been saying that he wants to move/retire there a couple times XD
Looks Delicious... Singapore has Everything !!!
Glad you're enjoying the food! Most people eat Mookata at night preferably on a cold or windy night 😄 cos the heat from the hotplate is going to make you sweat a lot lol
Welcome to Singapore Mike! Enjoy your time here.
Looks so good. thanks for showing.
Mike: *tries to grill*
That one prawn: CHA CHA REAL SMOOTH
its rare that i genuinely want to eat whatever mikes having in a video but i think i could go for all of those pratas, and maybe even a lil dip of curry on the side
Prata always comes with a dipping curry. It’s usually just the gravy, with no meat or veggies. It looks like Mike often orders curries at extra cost, which is why you see chunks of meat - it’s a dish on its own.
I wondered about that. Not that he didn't get a great amount of food for like $5USD, but it was just thin bread without anything exciting in my opinion.
@@ruthwhite3938 you say that cause you've never eaten it, even the plain pratas are flavourful, especially when dipped in curry. Totally different from bread
Haha always happy to see Mike eating in Singapore… this isn’t exactly airport area but then Singapore is so small, everywhere seems very near I guess. 😂 for most people $5 is just about right cos I think most people eat like 3-4 Pratas at most? It’s just great value for Mike 😆😆😆 this Prata shop is not bad
My max number of pratas is 2, or 1.75 to be exact.
Loved this as well.
Big head, big hands, big appetite. Mikey living life big, let’s go!
Mike, you never fail to make my mouth water........so hungry after watching.....
Went to try the masala prata today and it was awesome! My new favorite prata flavor. Thanks Mikey
Singapore looks like foodie heaven
That looked so good! I wish we had buffets like that here! I also wish there was a Thai BBQ place I could go to.
That mookata bbq looks so delicious! Especially that slab of beef… makes me drool…
Never knew that there's a prata buffet in Singapore! 😅
I go to Singapore in three days - this is now on the list!! Thanks so much for your videos!
So, did you go?
@@Hashslingingslasher- I DID! We had to go and sit in a park for an hour or two afterwards because we were too full to walk back to the hotel! So good!
I am always waiting for his Singapore Food videos.
That prata place is definitely on my bucket list when visiting Singapore! The value is insane and it looks really delicious! I don't think I can find a place like that in Sydney!
The Poulet looked interesting! The Thai hotpot with the beef is also worth a stop!
this brings memories of a indian buffet i used to go it was like around $25 USD but it was a whole indian buffet u got meats cooked in tandoor ovens, lots of curries to choose from, saffron basmati plain basmati BUT the best part was the freshly made parathas and naans and chapatis I know the number 1 rule of buffet is not get full on carbs but jesus that was heavenly
The most i can eat is 2 pratas. U really are amazing mikey!
hey mike! mookata is actually really common in singapore! siam square mookata and bangkok street mookata can be found all over SG!
Bedok is pretty good too
@@Tampenismall BEDOK ONE SUPERIOR
Strictly Dumpling, I have been in Singapore for the past few weeks and I tried a hawker stall today that I think you would really like. Its called 林玉梅 Sarawak Laksa & Kolo Mee in the Haig Road Food Centre. We got the Number 1 Pork Dry Noodles and it had springy thin noodles, two types of pork, spring onions, and chili sauce/sambal. Definitely go there you won't regret it!
That half-chicken in mushroom cream at Poulet is my favourite!
Mike handled that egg on the grill like a pro 😳
This series makes me want to visit Singapore so badly lol
Problem is I live here, eating healthy is a problem!
@@dingaroo2003 intermittent fasting
Mike, you are working the hell out of those chopsticks. You are living the life, Sir. Keep it up Man. I will join you soon.
This looks absolutely yummy
It looks so good. ❤
Thank you for the info. Next time i come to Singapore, i may check them.
I'd never heard of prata before, but they look and sound amazing! Your Singapore food vlogs are an inspiration to visit Singapore, just to go on an eating/bingeing tour! 😆😋
EDIT: ok, so after looking up prata, I've discovered they're very similar to roti, which I have had, and absolutely love. I just haven't seen them with such delicious fillings, though
I think the most common flavours for prata in Singapore are egg and kosong (plain). Over the years, more and more flavours popped up !
Paratha is basically roti which is cooked in oil. So that has a more flaky texture, compared to the chewy like texture for roti. People eat paratha bcz of the flaky texture, but yeah roti and paratha are very same.
Prata is derived from paratha from India. Their difference, paratha is dry baked while our prata is fried over oil
@@dingaroo2003 nah uh paratha is generally done with oil. Its not fried its just used in a small quantity to just make it crunchy. Its literally the same in India. Its just Indian cuisine. I get it in india all the time but yes we dont have dedicated restaurants to parathas. Never been to south india maybe they eat like that
@@abubakarsiddik3227 Thank you for the clarification! ❤
Are we not gonna talk about the duck walking through the restaurant in the corner at 3:25 😂💀
That aint no duck💀 thats a javan myna bird LOL
8:03 I was waiting to see how long his t-shirt would remain spotless 😂😂
So, the masala prata was basically a masala dosa, but in a prata, yes? I haven't had prata before, but in Malaysia, I had murtabak, which looks to be similar if not identical. Singapore is my favorite country to eat it. The tough questions are "how many meals can I manage to eat today?" and "where do I start?"
Murtabak has meat inside. Prata doesnt
Singapore has soo much good food . I love going there every time
3:27 The place gotta be good when even the bird responding to Mike’s compliment.
Headed to Singapore in 5 days...will definitely be visiting this!! Thank you.
Definitely head to the world renowned Raffle's Hotel bar for a Tiger Beer on draft. Also, they have an excellent zoo, a bird zoo and croc farm with shows.
Some of these are pretty average tho.
Zoo’s good… but there are nicer places for a beer
Honestly, I feel one of the best things you could do in Singapore (after visiting most of the main attractions ofc) is to take the train down and visit the local neighbourhoods!
Bring along a compact size umbrella that you can fit into your bag. It's been raining a lot these days but upside is the weather has been cool! Do visit Cloud Forest at Gardens By The Bay. There a special AVATAR theme going on.
Wow that great price and yummy food. Thanks for sharing.👍
I dip everything in the curry!! Even the sweet ones… the sweet, spicy and saltiness works so well 🤤
Watching this in the middle of the night….. makes my stomach growl like crazy
That looked good too. Wow. Watching from Ontario Canada 🎉
I need one of those hotpot grills in my life! Neeeeeeed!
Prata looks crispy!
i kept hearing Mike saying "prada this, prada that, prada..prada....." 😂😂😂 that is a looot of bags man 🤣🤣🤣🤣
OMG… I’m become so hungry watching this video 🤤
Not the bird waddling in the background 😂😂😂
I wish someone could do a study of how much restaurant sales go up for places after a Mikey video 🙌🙌
Such a good value for money. That 6$ buffett in Singapore? Heck yeah!
mikey i love your videos, they're always so interesting and tasty looking!!! i don't eat meat and would love to see you sampling more local vegetable dishes, you're the best food blogger on the web and i (with so many other people) eat vicariously through you!!
i'm not sure if there's much of a demand for more veggie/fish dishes but wanted to put the idea out there in case anyone else was thinking it, it would certainly be helpful for those looking to travel and didn't know about the food opportunities in places like singapore :) thank you so much!
at 10:55 - i would have never thought to toss the shrimp, etc, into the water, good job, looks amazing.
Chicken broth
Welcome to sg mike. I am from sg and I love ur vids.
Finally the prata episode
i like fish curry or dhaal with my prata, some places also give sambal chilli which just brings to another level
THis is why i love singapore !
1:07 mikey, seriously stop saying you’ll link it but you never do 😆
In Malaysia, you can have roti sardin- with sardines. I used to get roti kelapa, which has coconut in it, but I haven’t seen it for years.
Also, you could have roti Milo, with Milo drink powder and butter.
Excellent work on that bbq fried egg 😂
Oh mikey, its funny how u make every buffet regret their decisions 🤣
I enjoy watching you prepare your meal but I'm not a fan of doing it myself at a restaurant lol. You are a pro cooking with chopsticks Mike! And no matter how saucy, liquidy food you're eating, your light blue shirt is spotless! Impressive 🤣
Same. Mikey loves hotpot and grilling. It is fun once in a while, but I wouldn't be that excited about cooking the food myself, lol.
The masala thosai make me drooling.
I love your Videos!!!! I pray i can do the same thing you do in life!!!
I see Mikey eating I click.
Same it just popped up I click so fast
The prawn look a like antenna about his head during the hotpot part while he is grilling prawns 😂
Would definitely visit this place.
lol the pigeon walking around in the background at 3:26
Man, that looks good
Mike, please put my in your suitcase and take me to your next food destination!! :)
