This machine speaks to me at a spiritual level. One machine that can do a bit of everything, and not bad at all at that... that's the kind of machine my heart has been looking for without me knowing of it :)

I’ve printed many of these accessories, the tolerances are very well designed. The parts fit together perfectly.

I love this so much I saw the original in acrylic a while ago and then James improved it even more - I’d love to be able to build to build this in the U.K. things are so much more explained here - but I still sent the donation for the info as it’s a worthy project to support and who knows maybe one day he will do a ship able kit for those of us who can’t access 3D printing even if it’s just specified parts - I wonder how hard it would be to make this U.K. compliant. Both safety wise and power wise!! Just so simple for the hobbyist who hasn’t the space or funds for the lapidary equipment they drool over - for me this would be a game changer - just not sure how to at present! Loving the videos 😊

If you add a groove down the middle of the screw in the drip system, you can get a little more irrigation though and have more control of water flow

This is the coolest and most perfect idea for me. I have boxes and boxes of rocks I’ve collected over the years. This video popped up when I was trying to look up lapidary equipment. Before this video I was feeling deflated with the prices of machines. Now I’ve gone down the 3d printing rabbit hole. I will be making this once I’ve finished building my shop. Thank you so much for this brilliant idea. Just curious what 3d printer you use. I’m looking at the Bambulab p1p and upgrading it eventually to print carbon. I think this project done in carbon would be awesome.

I have been thinking about a printed faceting machine for several years now, and the other day it hit me that a jamb peg style "mast" would be very easy to produce with 3d printing, and would likely perform more accurately than those cheap Chinese masts.

Oh, since you have a flat lap already, you may want to .ake it in to the lense polisher - simmilart to flatlap but it has an additional ram on top, that is waving back and forth (runing from same motor). The amplitude of the waving arm defines the focal point of the lense.

I have been thinking about doing this to my mini cnc machine. A few things broke on it but the motor still runs great so i think it would be cool to make attachments for it. Thanks for inspiration

I sent my donation and email. I'm so excited!
Would you consider making a saw reservoir tank that allows the collet to fit completely inside, where the saw blade comes up from the bottom?
I would like make a little sled I can use to hold material and make longer straight cuts. I also think it would reduce some of the water splatter.

What is the wear like for someone who works on the machine often? I'm thinking of heat resistance and stress levels.

Sorry, not at this time. for now at least, im having a lot of fun developing it to see how many conversions i can come up with...maybe in the future, when i have made as many conversions as possible and im confident that i have perfected the machine, maybe then id consider selling finished machines but for now i would just like to focus on development. thanks for watching! please consider subscribing to follow the machines progress!
