Dude. This is SO cool. I do random fun weird projects like this all the time and this video and your genuine approach to it filled me with so much joy! Definitely going to try it out now.
Oh cool! I was actually planning on doing a similar thing with my angles grinder for doing semi-precise grinding and cutting (basically a super crappy portable surface grinder). More of a gantry type thing that I could set on top of big pieces or clamp pieces down inside/under it. But this has me realizing I'd be an idiot if I didn't make it so I can swap in different tools like my pencil grinder and make everything fairly adjustable. Remind me to let you know when I finish it in like 5 years lol
ironically enough i just tracked the final part i needed and its due to be delivered tomorrow!!! im excited to see how that works out..i have so many ideas that need a lathe!!!
oh thats so sweet!!!...if you liked my gentech torch video, stay posted because im currently working on several diy projects and one of them you might like.... its a hands free articulating holder that im hoping will be universal in that it can be used with either a flex shaft/ micromotor or a mini torch....so imagine being able to mount your mini torch and not only work hands free, but position it in any direction you want...im thinking one could easily start doing simple jewelry type glasswork with a setup like this and a ton of other stuff and best part is that im pretty sure i can do it for only a few dollars worth of parts from home depot and a little bit of work!!.
MB, dude thanks for another good video n a new idea to apply to the dozen odd lil projects I always have going 😂😂😂. Thanks again keep um comin. I'm spreading the news on your vids🤘
Ooo so awesome! Totally doing this! Soon as you put that spinning one on there.. I had visions of what I could do to make some awesomely textured components for earrings etc .. thanks soo much for these videos! So glad I stumbled upon your RUclips page. You have some amazing yet affordable ideas and ways of doing stuff. Soo creative! :)
You should put the work piece platen on a rail as well. Maybe put the rail on a pivot so it can run parallel to perpendicular to the hand piece carriage rail.

Agreed! I would love that as well!!
Thank you so great!
Cool idea!

Good idea. I thought maybe I could make use of one of the macro photography tripod sliders.
