For new crochet ers I'd like to give a hint for this and others similar. I have a wooden table. So before putting the two sides together I bought this hot pads stuff. Lol ask at Joanne or look I can't remember what its called! Then I traced around the edges of the eggs and went in about a quarter inch. Made a paper pattern and cut out the shapes with the hot pad cloth. I also put a piece of cotton batting with it. insert all 3 pieces before putting them together. Someone told me to put cotton batting on both sides of the hot pad cloth.
Now no worries placing very hot pans on my wooden table! And I did the ones with the embroidery idea that Susan demonstrates! Woot hot pads that I am proud to show!

Thank you so much for this information, Elizabeth! I didn't know that you'd need more layers for using this potholder as a hot pad on wood. That's really good to know! Happy crocheting to you!

SO cute! I'll be getting your pattern this weekend and hopefully will have time to make a few if these before Easter. Thank you for the tutorial. Hope you're doing well. We're anxiously watching for signs of spring here in Kansas.

You're very welcome for the tutorial, Nancy! Thank you so much for your pattern purchase (I notice that you didn't wait until the weekend to purchase it!). Please let me know if you have any trouble downloading the pattern. The potholder works up pretty quickly, depending on how many hours a day you have to crochet.
My husband and I are doing well. The signs of spring are slowly coming here in Arizona, too (we're at 5,000 feet elevation, so we don't get the blazing heat that Phoenix and Tucson get, plus we get a little snow here, too!). We've had a few days of weather in the 50's and 60's, so it's coming! I actually got to finish up restoring a bookcase yesterday that I started working on a month or two ago and had to stop because it was too cold! It'll be great to get some things done outside again at/to our house and yard again! I hope your weather warms up soon in Kansas!
Happy crocheting to you now and always!

I'm a new subscriber, enjoyed your video! I'm a fairly new crocheter, but I'll just keep plugging along. It's so enjoyable, glad I found you! Blessings!

Thank you so much for your kind words and for subscribing, Brenda! I'm glad you found my channel, too! And welcome to the wonderful world of crochet! I was aiming this video for beginner crocheters so you'd be able to follow along and learn a few things (like increases, decreases, working an edging and doing the invisible join). It's also a great project for any skill level (and experience) of crocheter. Remember, in crochet, practice makes perfect (or at least better)! Blessings to you, too! And happy crocheting now and always!

I'm glad you appreciate my video. I think the volume is okay on this video. Did you know that there is a volume control on each video when you're playing it? It's located at the bottom left of the video, to the right of the fast forward symbol and what looks like a megaphone. Just hover your mouse there and it will pop up. Is it possible that the volume is turned down there when you're watching this video?
