Today I saw a sentence in a movie. There is a sentence like this “ 不如不遇见的好” can all you help me please why it's used 的好 here. Thanks so much
Hi, there, thank you for your question. Here 好 simply means good, the pattern here is 不如+ v. + (o.) + 的好, which means “It would have been better do something”, therefore, 不如不遇见的好 means “It would have been better not meet (each other again).”
Usually this pattern is meant to be used to express a sort of passive emotion or regrets. The movie is a romance I guess😊.
@@qianfeizhou8265 Yeah 😂. I got moved after watching it. Thanks a lot for your help. Because " 好” is the result of " 不遇见”,can it be said "不遇见得好” ?
If you say 不遇见得好, it means they actually didn’t meet. But 不如不遇见的好 means actually they meet each other but they feel sad or regret. That is why I use “would have been better” since in this pattern, v + o between 不如 and 的好 is usually subjunctive.
@@qianfeizhou8265 thanks 🙏 a lot :). 我明白了
This is amazing! Thanks a lot. Can you help me with this sentence? "医生没有看出小英得的是什么病" It has been giving me a headache for weeks, I can not fully understand it.
得 (de2) here is a verb for 得病 (to catch a sickness).
的 is here the marker of an adj clause.
小英得的(病)是什么病 = what sickness Little Yin caught.
really helpful as always!
Thanks so much. It helps me a lot. :)
I think you got the pinyin wrong for 睡觉。Instead of Shuijiao, you wrote shuijue.
I think you are right. It was a mistake.
Hello , I'm having a hard time understanding this, do you have a lesson on this grammar

老师你的课 很有意思 也 很有用。谢谢你❤️ 我 高兴 上得 不得了!! ❤️❤️ Hope is correct 😸 love you from Italy 🇮🇹
谢谢🙏, in your sentence, you don’t need the 上, otherwise it should be 我上得高兴得不得了。
@@lukew.9870 Oh thank you so much ❤️
You're channel is the best 😭😭 thank u
非常感谢,很好的解释,但我的语法有问题
then it is impossible to make the distinctions made in min 4:40 when communicating verbally. The communication becomes non unequivocal. Thank you for the clarifications.
Yes, that’s true.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
得 in 2nd tone:
Danielle 难过得哭了!
地 in 5th tone:
Danielle 难过地哭了!
No both of them should be neutral tone / 5th tone
Could you do a video on 之?
I sometimes see 得直 rather than just 得, especially when there is an emotional reaction (eg crying).
I don't know what this 直 means, but 她难过得直哭了 seems more natural to me than just 她难过得哭了.
However 她高兴得直又唱又跳 and 她兴奋得直给我打电话 doesn't seem to work as well with the 直.
直 is short for 一直 = continuously. It is not a set part of this pattern and only works in some sentences like 他高兴得直对我笑。= He was so happy that he kept smiling at me.
We usually don’t use 一直 along with 了, 了 is often involved in past tense. Hence, 她难过得直哭 is the proper one.
她兴奋得直给我打电话 is ok, it means She was so excited that she kept calling me on the phone.
Respect.👍👍👍
这是语法很难。
Thanks
