The sword is useless in water. If possible try luring the sword attacker into the water. Not sure if it's intentional or a bug but >50% of the sword strikes fail in the water. The character continuously switches between swimming and striking. Sword strikes get cancelled for the swimming 'animation' etc.
Wanted to say that your content made me really enjoy the game and wanting to get better at it. Really enjoy the cadence and how honest your content is. Thank you and keep it up
100% agree. The game moves so fast and I'm busy but I'm able to put your videos on in the background when I'm doing non-game related things. So, when I get to play, I actually know what's going on and I can use the time playing with my kiddo actually doing something and not figuring everything out over again haha
I enjoy exploring the map. I always have like an 80-90% familiarity with the map after a few weeks. I often land at POIs or land marks that are out of the way or I haven't landed at yet, or landed at recently. Aside from just where to drop, as you rotate throughout the round, you will naturally come across those areas. If you already know what's there, that can I form how you rotate as the next storm circle closes. So definitely a good tip there.
I think the NPC pathfinding also is a complete mess this season. I often have them stuck. I think this is because the AI knows about the new movement options but, while it chooses the fastest path using those abilities, the hireable NPCs simply do not use them. So they get stuck on an easy to doublejump wall, jumping but never doublejump with stairs about 2 meters to their left.
I need to rethink my instinct to push after a few tags. Even playing builds. Im intentionally bring myself into katana range. Need to be more patient. Im using Jake's Strat of shockwaves to give myself distance when katana players push me. But I lost a few matches today because I pushed too aggressively. Didn't know their exact location in cover, I a house or box or builds. And got close range spammed by the katana.
The spam attack does actually dash them in weird ways. In close the katana can break our camera so badly while dealing damage, it's just a no win situation. There's no consistent tactic to dealing with the katana in close. It's a 50/50 at best. And you have to hope to get lucky on a big shotty tag.
I think one mistake I constantly make is learning when is a good time to disengage in a fight. I am overly aggressive and don't have the mad skillz to back it up. But the issues that this causes that I am taking fights I can't win anyway. I might won those fights if I reposition. Or like if there are two to three people on Island, I don't get out of there and wait, I instead engage and get myself pinched. Or wanting to get that kill when he is "so weak" when someone else is shooting at me. It is the same as over chasing. I am often very thirsty for kills that I get myself into trouble more often than I would like.
Katana in squads is a way bigger problem than solos in my opinion. In squads it’s always a whole damn team or multiple teams aggressively pushing you with swords. Once you get down to the final few teams it’s a freakin sword swinging nightmare hell. Lol! I wish they would mix the loot pool up a little soon to be honest, because this season feels a little stale with the choices we have, because it’s literally everyone using the same exact weapons, and it makes fights play out kinda boring lately.
When this season first started, my friend and I talked about how the Katana and/or Void Oni Mask would be vaulted mid-seasoned, similar to the Jetpack in C5S4 lol
@ i hope something gets shifted around soon, or this season is gonna drag on. I’d love at least another new AR, SMG, maybe a new shotgun, and something else in place of the katana. As of now every fight is the holo AR and swords, so it’s getting kinda lame imo. 👎🏻
