You can open a Ranger with a similar technique... Locked my keys and the truck's keys in the shop go-for truck, truck was bare bones with the manual post style door locks and we opened it with the antenna.
You locked the doors with the keypad, why not unlock'em with the keypad? (If you don't know the factory code, in 2011 SD it should be on a sticker on the fuse box in the passenger kick panel)

17:45 that’s how I used to get in my e-150 when I locked the keys in, ford provides everything you need. After too many times I stripped out the antenna mount and you could no longer unscrew the antenna. Had to be extra careful after that.
I'm going with detonation damage, very possibly started from fuel starvation/clogged filters and it just took that long to spiral down. 🤔 not much keeping people from getting in most every vehicle on the market, then to top it off, many are still easily stolen, with minimal interior damage (or none).
Recently got a 1990 with the 351w with only 88 k with intact interior. I already put 4k driving back home and hunting for parts, everywhere you go people want to talk about your car. I recently got the tranny and the whole dana 44 front to replace the bad parts on mine. Owner of the shop wanted to buy it from me, because his son wants one. At the end he just told me keep it stock, fix the mechanics but don't do anything to it other than a paint job. This video only make sense after that, the feeling you get when you share the love for a machine is unlike others.
Pro tip, when you break, do it on an off ramp. It is considered the highway still and deemed high risk so high priority. Took less than an hour to get a tow at midnight
Ive polished honed and slapped 302s together in basements and garages. Some are still on the road years later. Hell i used emery cloth and a drill to do a valve job once. Great comp after rebuild. They r ez to fix and rebuild.
Back when I was a cop we were driving the 95 Chevy Caprices, and locked the keys in a few times. Used the exact same trick with the antenna to hit the unlock button, worked like a charm! Much better than having to call the Staff Sgt to bring the spare keys!😂

You can be in a Prostar in less than 30 seconds with nothing more than a pocket screwdriver. When I worked for an International leasing shop, I made road calls all the time for guys locking themselves out.
"When you drive a Ford, nothing ever goes according to plan." Nice Ford slam in the intro section! It's always a good idea to troll the Ford fans early to give them plenty of time to flame you in the comments. That 302 sounded like a diesel after you blew it. Tow truck driver says "typical Ford" in such a matter of fact way. Priceless.
I really enjoyed the video ..Unlucky guy who had his tire Pop ending on the rim...poor Juice Box died ..Be more than happy to see you put in the Coyote and get it up and running again 😃
Well if he knew the code you can just unlock it anyway. Cool thing you can leave it running and lock the truck and get back in with the door code. When you input the code and repeat the last number it unlocks all 4 doors instead of just the driver door too.
I can help Scott with the sunroof, I have been installing and serving sunroofs for 20 years. It's probably a webasto roof and I get parts directly from webasto and other oem manufacturers.
Stick a mildly built 300 six in there. With an Offy intake you can run the same injection setup. It won't make the power of a Coyote swap, but it will have the character of a Cummins and you will love it.
I had a 95 F150 5spd 4x4 extended cab with a 302. It was a real beast in 4low off road. But I had a camper shell on the back that would stick up taller than the cab, and I would also pull trailers; So by the end of it's life, it was so gutless that I couldn't pull a trailer over 60mph on the highway. It did make it to 320k miles before it spun a bearing, never having any issues-- and even with the rod knocking, it still drove me home. So I've really grown to love the little 302's. But after that I bought a 2002 F350 7.3L 6spd 4x4, and I'm never going back. lol.. Diesel is the only way to go for a real work truck. I have 340k miles on my 7.3L and it's still a great truck and going strong.
I’ve done the antenna trick too many times to count. My favorite was a 95 f150 the speedo didn’t work but it was a manual with a tach so I knew how fast I was going. But the antenna had a nice curve to it from unlocking the truck that just happened to be laid back when tight. When people asked how I knew my speed I’d tell them I judge it by the bend in the antenna. They’d look at it see it almost touching the cab, look back at me and I’d say we’re screamin!
Too bad about the old 302. I made that same mistake about 25 years ago on one of my first rebuilds. I got out of the throttle when it blew so I was able to limp home about 500 km. It used 4 liters of oil in the last 100 km. When I got home my neighbor was frantically ringing the doorbell. I went back outside and everything forward of the windshield was ablaze!

That cracked block remined me of a truck we had on the farm for a few years growing up. Dad bought a mostly worn out 74 Chevy half ton 4WD for a farm truck. We beat the tar out of it for a while, but when it came harvest time, we couldn't figure why it seemed so down on power when we hauled loaded grain wagons to the local grain elevator. I mean we're talking having to use lo range and put the trans in 1st gear to pull the hills near our farm. Dad finally took it to a local mechanic, turns out it had a cracked block the whole time. just luck i guess that it wasn't cracked in the cooling jacket. Put in a salvage yard 350 and drove it several more years. Finally sold it for scrap price to a local young kid that completely rebuilt the truck. Probably still on the road today.

The top lip on the box was even turned inside out. This video derseves two big bags of chips, a movie sized chocolate bar and a 2 liter of coke. Neat stuff. Enjoyed watching. Looking forward to seeing the Coyote install. That guy from Ford Era must have had the tires aired up pretty good for the tire to blow that truck up like that 😳 goodness that was horrible.
Haha so funny Ford found on road dead biggest pieces of shit although all cars can leave you on the side of the road I have been left on the side of the road more times in a Ford than any other single vehicle I've ever driven for the last 15 years
Holy crap, Ive never seen a tire blowout take off the the whole side of a truck. That has me paranoid about burnouts now. Well done by that guy keeping his spirits up and having a good attitude after that happened.
I’ve been working on Fords all day, lol! Tuned a down draft carburetor on a ‘49 F-1 with a 226 Flathead six. Then I replaced a power window on a ‘48 F-1, because it cracked. It was installed incorrectly by the previous owner. Also the fact that it is power means the switches were right where I needed to put my bracket. Great…
Still amazed/concerned how easy it was to break into our own truck😂

Absolutely
16:23 is that all solid Carbon fiber? In these car shows put on the screen info about the car you're showing 👍
Neat stuff. Enjoyed watching. Looking forward to seeing the Coyote install. That guy from Ford Era must have had the tires aired up pretty good for the tire to blow that truck up like that 😳 goodness that was horrible.
So many good things in the video
Ohh come on now , chevy ,fords and dodges have all left me on side of the road at least once. Don't single out the Box. 💯🙌
Haha so funny Ford found on road dead biggest pieces of shit although all cars can leave you on the side of the road I have been left on the side of the road more times in a Ford than any other single vehicle I've ever driven for the last 15 years
Yea, that was kind of a cheap shot on Fords. He just couldn’t resist, haha
At least they circle the problem for you right on the grill so you were warned.
Who threw the engine out the door? Love what your doing Rich!! Keep it comin bud
5 air bags
Holy crap, Ive never seen a tire blowout take off the the whole side of a truck. That has me paranoid about burnouts now. Well done by that guy keeping his spirits up and having a good attitude after that happened.
You drove the snot out of that blue Bronco. Im definitely not mad about the tailgate. Lol
Great…
Holy Fork the carnage on that at distance nice looking pickup was rather epic i am sad to say. Amazing what a blown tyre could do
Keep up the great videos
Can't wait to see the coyote project..
Keep safe

I love how the builds are coming Rich!
“I pretty much hate Fords” (5 years later) LOL
33 blowing apart. If you anywhere close to that you'd have to get the add a head to me operation.
36:40 that might be a problem.😂😂😂
Enjoyed your show and I'm a ford fan as well, I'll catch ya on the next one.
Not been subscribed past 3 years I became a fan from the KW and Shermator tank but still enjoy every single upload 👍
Thanks!
Love the bronco
Always an adventure.
At least you were within towing range for your CAA, could’ve been way worse. Anxious for the next episode on this.
