Hell I was set on using a 3 mode electronic transfer case til I realized that the 10 speed has the same mount points for the manual transfer case so it just made it easier.
Living in Niagara where it can be minus 10 on the way into work and 25 above on the way home , keep the a/c if you can. It is nice to have the option when the weather swings.
Excited for this, and the V10 going in the Mustang!! I know there are thousands of people rolling around southern Ontario with less then factory exhaust systems.. Nobody's getting pulled over unless your doing pulls or revving like a jack*ss in town lol
The intake manifold and the exhaust manifolds on the coyote determine more or less torque and horsepower. By putting the logs back on you're nearly there to the truck ratings. Swap the Boss intake for a stock truck one and voila. Yes a tune can change it some, but it's pretty neat how the three different intake manifolds for the coyote change the horsepower and torque. That being said, the Boss intake will look cooler under than hood, for sure. Holley makes an EFI tunnel ram that should fit and looks similar to the Ford Racing tunnel ram for the coyote, if you want that old school look instead of the plastic look under the hood.
Buy projects from here in Oregon too, won’t have to go as far. We aren’t so dry but our frames stay real clean here, I had an 89 ram w250 that sat for 22 years and you can lick the frame it’s so clean. Never seen a rotted frame in Oregon
Hey Rich love these reporter vids I'm 65 and as a 20ish year old here in Australia a reporter of the then F100 was a 351 Cleveland why did Ford choose the 302 for the coyote build was the 351 not so popular ,I guess we didn't have the choices here that you guys got 351Ford or 350 Chev was king of the road stuff here ,also the Coyote engine looks much larger than I remember the 302 heads look huge is this because of the over head cam system ,Anyway Mate this retired Hoon, petrol head loves your work can't wait for the next one ,I'm living my petrol fuelled retirement through you Mate and loving it ,you have better toys than I ever had Cheers Kym Adelaide
id guess 302 is pretty much the 'imperial' equivalent of 5.0 Litres. 351 would be about 5.75 i believe. and yes the Coyote probably looks wide as its a DOHC per bank set up, rather than a single cam pushrod engine
Not gonna lie, I thought it was really weird when I first heard about Scott wanting to put the v10 into the mustang because I had the same idea of doing that Id say about 2 months before. Cant wait to see that build.
Thanks for showing how these jobs really go. As a weekend builder, the TV shows disgust me going from idea to starting the engine in seemingly a few hours.
is it bad i'm more pumped for the V10 triton engine swap over the bronco? since it's kinda undocumented territory especially if he goes for the 3V heads :p
Loud exhaust is fun for a once in awhile weekend toy rig but it’s nice to hear yourself think too. Call me old but I just like a little rumble these days, I don’t need the whole thunderstorm
I don't think it's an old guy thing to want an exhaust that not only sounds good but also doesn't leave your head rattling. About a week ago I had an appointment to have my exhaust done but my muffler did not show up on time so I ended up having to drive my 460 with long tube headers and dual 3 in straight pipes for a week and it was painful. I got my muffler 3 days ago and had it put on after work and I've never been happier about an exhaust system. Nice and quiet so I can hold a conversation in the cab even when I'm pulling my gooseneck but it's loud and rowdy when I put my foot down and let it sing.
Eastern Oregon and Eastern Washington also are dry and preserve vehicles very well. My 73 AMC Gremlin barely had any rust on it and that was only on where the back tires would throw gravel, sand, and snow in the winter when they would spin out, which was a lot since is was RWD and had all the weight in the front. The rust was minor and could be addressed easily. The motor blew up on me at highway speed when a lifter died and went through the side of the block after shooting through the oil pan and bouncing off the pavement. 180k miles and 130k it was not taken care of well and was parked with oil in it for 25 years before I got it, so it did well. It lived again with a supercharged big block V8 dropped in it for unlimited dirt track racing by a mad man that bought it off me for $350.
Rich…I have been waiting for this one… glad to see you building the Bronco. That thing is going to be awesome! BTW…are you going to have another “wiring wrap-up” video on the F-tree-kitty? Curious how the transmission shift issue was resolved. Anyways…take care and God bless…David.
Hey Rich. Just wondering, does the installation of the coyote motor over the stock motor affect the dynamics of the driver's seat in relationship to the Milwaukee 12 volt under it?
Just a comment on A/C. If it is hot, muggy and raining, you will not be able to take off the roof and will be glad you have A/C. I don't know how hot it gets in the Great White North, but your wife will probably appreciate it. Love your channel Rich.
When bending things somthing most don't think about is "set back" essentially calculating the stretch of the metal you are bending. Alot of shop hand books have a guide to doing these calculations / equations. I know I used the word equations, but fear not anyone with their grade 10 should be just fine. (I'm not Canadian that's just some Canadian slang I picked up from trailer park boys). Most people who need somthing bent in their home shop just bend a peice that's close enough and trim if necessary, I get it it's quick and easy. But especially if you're doing multiple bends that stretch adds up and compliles and things get off the rails quick. It's pretty easy to take a second measure what you have, calculate, cut a peice the exact size needed, bend at x y x and be done.
I've been subscribed for a while now, and I've been luke warm on this project. But last month a bought a 21 f150 with the coyote. So I'm all of a sudden excited. I was happy to see metric hardware, but flustered to find out how many 7&11mm there were.
o_O I started watching this channel when I was hunting for a bronco... It's crazy to think now I am working on one and this one is finally getting a new engine. Time flies, it feels like yesterday when I saw you trade your carb for an EFI with a crazy sparkolater guy.
Im in the process of installing a Terminator X in my 90 F250 with the 5.8 and manual 5 speed. I weighed the different options and this seemed to be the cheapest and best being able to utilize most of the stock efi hardware already on the engine. Thinking of upgrading the intake and heads as I have an early Bronco with a mildly built 351 and Holley 4di, World Products sr heads and Performer RPM intake and am very happy with the performance of that combination.
I have the sister transmission to that 6r80. ZF6HP28 behind a N54 in my 335. Custom adapter plate and mounting kit but those transmissions are KILLER Theres even a guy named dustin lanners who has a ZF6hp28 with Ford 6r80 internals and circle D 252mm probillet converter. The 6r80 is a incredible transmission
I completely agree with you installing cats in the exhaust. While you mentioned that you didn't do anything to the truck that screams modified, your videos could be watched by the folks who could be watching you to make sure you're keeping everything legal. I guess that's just one of the fringe benefits of putting your business/hobby/life on more than 644K computer and smart device screens.
Glad your back on the Bronco build! Come on!!! a/c a/c A/C! It's only getting hotter! The Bronco, the weather! So ya, A/C, l know it's really easy for me to say! But lm thinking of you!, it's perfect other than that. I agree with the cast manifolds, turbos fit nice😛🥴. Great build! Awesome. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻. ✌🏻❄️🌧🇨🇦, your Ontario neighbor. 🖖🏻⛄️.
Love it you all do a fantastic job stuffing engines into whatever! next up a GEO Metro with a 6.0 LS and its a UTE!! Seriously though finish the projects you have now and we will happily follow along!!
My son put a coyote in a 78 king cobra ,his Channel is Duggan Race craft .he is very knowledgeable about the coyote and he works at a ford dealership. He is now putting a blower on it , right from ford. You said you couldn't find videos so give him a look , thanks
best ford engine ever built, clevo. 351 / 460 chev killers. more reliable that a petrified tree.. lpg, 12.1 comp. std cam. cut cat fast. in a bronco. with 35,s.
personally id put a 5 or 6 speed with a manual t case have it like that on my 94 Bronco! will probably use these vids in the future if i ever (probably will) decide to swap my 302 for a Coyote, so thanks Rich!! 🙏
"Just take the top off," says the Canadian. Once was enough for me to know NOT to take t-tops out during 105 degree ( ~41C) sunny days for a fun drive. I should have known better having bikes, but I was 17 and thought it might work...by the time I got 15 miles up the road to where I was going, the first thing I did was pop the tops back in. The last gen LS Trans Ams (mine is a 99, still have it...needs a fuel pump after sitting for college even with a drained tank...yay gm) may not have been luxury, but that car would cool down or heat up faster than I could get out of the garage and turned around. For engine swaps I went from 4.6L modular V8s (the Aviators were good donors for 32v DOHC aluminum block variants) to now I pretty much always use either a Toyota 4.0L 1UZ 32v DOHC V8 or 1GR V6 from Toyota. I did a RWD on a 97 ST204 Celica with a 1GR V6 turbocharged over wedging an I6 in. My E31 I got as a roller has a rebuilt and tuned 1UZ that makes for a great touring car. I also love the 3.0L SHO V6s and have a stockpile of engines and parts in my storage warehouse. I have one turbocharged in an RX8 (another roller, 500 bucks off marketplace) and it's a perfect combination of high revs and a great chassis. My factory engine RX8 is pushing 240k miles, they last if you know how to treat them (like a 2 stroke lol), but at 250k I was considering either another swap or a rebuild. I used to rebuild them back in high school and college to flip, super simple engine and relatively cheap to get good kits for (probably because of the demand...).
VERY SMART going with Manual Transfer Case & NO AIR, NICE. You should buy Vince a shirt that has " VINCE " on it & maybe Welder on the back, like Tom Cruise had in " THE COLOR OF MONEY ".
Rich, the Coyote doesn't provide a place to mount a power steering pump because Ford switched to electric power assist with the introduction of steering racks on trucks. The Bronco came with a hydraulic assist gear box. How are you planning to steer the Bronco? Convert it to rack and pinion steering?
One day I'd like to have one of these coyotes in my 94 ranger. Think my biggest hurdle is finding a transmission and transfer case combo that'll work. Or a trans that'll bolt to the existing t case. But I gotta worry about one swap at a time.
Mad respect for the Coyote but seriously, it is so much work to get that to fit even in a big bay like the Bronco has. In Australia, there's no way in hell you'd be able to cut the cross member and get it road legal. You could get a shop to do it, but it would be ridiculously pricey. #lstheworld
Best line "You build the engine and we will get it in there" I am looking forward to seeing the V10 crammed in there.
Just anti seiz the plugs and make sure they’re torqed. Lol
“Get it in”, doesn’t mean running right?
There's a few write ups on FTE of doing a 6.8 V10 in an OBS Ford
@jesse yarbrough what kind of obs? Was it a 3/4 ton? I imagine a half ton would have to weak of suspension to hold that big engine
@@Mr.Safety. v10 isn’t actual all that much heavier than the 5.8 that came in it. 90lbs difference
100% on the manual shift t-case. I love feeling whether or not the gears are properly engaged on my 95 Suburban.
Hell I was set on using a 3 mode electronic transfer case til I realized that the 10 speed has the same mount points for the manual transfer case so it just made it easier.
I would love a manual in my 99 Burb, won't engage 4wd if it's cold out now.
Picked up a rear axle & front diff just to get a new actuator.
Love it! Go with the A/C now, otherwise, it will never happen.
Loving this Bronco series! An OBS Bronco of some kind is definitely on my dream truck bucket list.
There's always cool stuff going on on this channel. Thanks Rich.
Living in Niagara where it can be minus 10 on the way into work and 25 above on the way home , keep the a/c if you can. It is nice to have the option when the weather swings.

Nothing sounds better than equal length exhaust, even with cats and mufflers.

The best sound comes from the intake, not the exhaust. The biggest plus is that it only makes noise when you're flooring the pedal.

They make an accessory drive kit to add it. AC or no AC.
You can always use an electric pump off something like a Saturn Astra
Personally I would go with electric power steering especially with the abundance of junk Toyota KIA and gm cars with easy to power electric boxes.
