I was in my mid-twenties when "grunge" rock started in the early 90's. I listened to a few of the bands - Soundgarden was one. It was his voice that sold me on the band. So much power, range, and it hit home with me. Then it was the lyrics, and finally the music itself. Well time goes on and things change - I lost track of time and Chris' music slipped away from me. I'd only recently re-discovered him, going back through Audioslave and finally his solo work. I never thought his passing would affect me the way it has. Thank you, Fola, for sharing this with us. It means a lot to many of us.

I was in my mid-twenties when "grunge" rock started in the early 90's. I listened to a few of the bands - Soundgarden was one. It was his voice that sold me on the band. So much power, range, and it hit home with me. Then it was the lyrics, and finally the music itself. Well time goes on and things change - I lost track of time and Chris' music slipped away from me. I'd only recently re-discovered him, going back through Audioslave and finally his solo work. I never thought his passing would affect me the way it has. Thank you, Fola, for sharing this with us. It means a lot to many of us.

I was a 90’s teen. My then bf loved this song when it came out. Until today I’ve never bothered to actually listen to the lyrics though I know then by heart. Chris was a talent unmatched. His death was a tragedy. We needed many more years with him. All the greats are taken from us too soon. I hope I get to meet him in Heaven. RIP amazing man.
Chris was awsome in all those bands and in solo. Both bands were 2 of my favourites bands of alltime. They had great names (and it's rare) with significant and simple meaning (thanks to Chris) and amazing songs that sounded like no one else. hardly been underrated as one of their top if not the top listened to songs by soundgarden. If you listen to interviews it was highly rated by all of his peers in the day as a new yardstick to measure their own material by.
