an update & an introduction

Hey there. My name is Eden and I am happy that you’re here. This video is a culmination of almost six months of thoughts, feelings, and life. It’s an update on what life has been like, and an introduction in to the new life that starts now. It’s scary and hard and devastating and unfathomable to step into this new moment of time, but it’s necessary, and I welcome you to come on this journey with me.

One of my best friends since middle school was widowed at 27. I was the photographer for their wedding and had known her husband since our freshman year of college. I was there for the birth of their first (of two) daughters. It rocked everyone around us. It’s been 5 years this fall and still doesn’t even feel real sometimes. But we don’t avoid saying his name or talking about him, as we want to keep his memory alive and honor him even if it’s uncomfortable.
You’re a strong woman, Eden. Thank goodness you have the support system you have and your family has stepped in so much. John would be so proud of you for everything you’ve done to continue living after he passed.
