VIDEO JOURNAL No. 2 | Chatting Emotional Bandwidth and Stages of Grief
Work was an escape in the fall, a way for me to do something completely removed from my new reality. But as time went on reality started creeping into the edges and muddying the colors of everything anyway. I turned on the camera on the way home from a particularly emotional day in the midst of a particularly emotional week, and shared some of what was going on in my head.

One of my best friends since middle school was widowed at 27. I was the photographer for their wedding and had known her husband since our freshman year of college. I was there for the birth of their first (of two) daughters. It rocked everyone around us. It’s been 5 years this fall and still doesn’t even feel real sometimes. But we don’t avoid saying his name or talking about him, as we want to keep his memory alive and honor him even if it’s uncomfortable. You’re a strong woman, Eden. Thank goodness you have the support system you have and your family has stepped in so much. John would be so proud of you for everything you’ve done to continue living after he passed.
