This is the episode of Worzel Gummidge that was filmed partly at the boatyard at Lower Heyford in 1979. ruclips.net/video/JuVyfy18J7s/видео.htmlsi=-WlDm_fQYQgEI5ZM
He and his boat waited for you to go ahead, and his boat triggered some fond old memories for me (and perhaps for some other folks) . . ."the Voyage of the Dawn Treader" :)
Thanks Phil, lovely video. It is like being on the boat ourselves sitting at the front. Very peaceful. Loved Worzel Gummidge, they showed it on TV down here in NZ when I was a child.
Hi Phil. And greetings from the Dandenong Ranges outside Melbourne, Australia. I have just discovered your channel. Thank you for such a lovely video. The surround sound is terrific.I took your advice and donned the headphones. Wow!. I have subscribed and look forward to more videos and soundscapes. Thanks again, Neil
Many thanks Phil, that was very easy watching. Just had a few days on the Stratford Canal, so now understand locks and the like much better. Take care.
We've done that cruise - nice to see it from your POV. And wow that weed is REALLY taking over. It wasn't that bad when we were there which wasn't that many years ago.
Not sure when this was filmed but so lovely to see sunshine and greenery again 😊 (must have been a while ago as you still have that lovely long hair!) Hope you and the boys are keeping well 🥰
I remember enjoying watching your time lapse videos years ago, but the videos you make now are better for getting a sense of the real pace of cannal life. Its just nicer and more relaxing to take it in at a steady speed.
Glad you like them. The time lapse camera was all I could afford back then. Eventually upgraded to a car dashcam, and now using GoPros. Much better quality.
@@NarrowboatJourneys I'm needing to get as close to Dukes Cut as possible to pick a friend up early in the morning, your next few videos will be scrutinised very carefully 🙂

I remember watching that when I was about nine years old. I seem to remember being quite frightened by some of the characters! :)
Beautiful idyllic cruise. Sounds were amazing. Very well narrated Phil. So easy to listen to. Stunning countryside. Thank you.
Many thanks Shirley.
This has gotta be the most authentic narrowboat channel on youtube and hence my favourite.
Thank you very much.
Nice enjoyable watch of a few years ago, lovely to see 👍
The gray dog looked like a young Irish wolfhound--don't see those very often!
It is always so nice to meet kind people. They were so kind, that it almost makes it worth while boating in an area with a really bad signal.

Loved it, and all the Narnia stories.
I put my best "Monolith" cans on to listen to this. You're right, brilliant all-round sound. Thanks.
Thank you. That was my best surround microphone setup. I don't use that every time because it depends on the weather conditions.
Thank you lovely vlog .....have watched all of your vlogs ....thanks for the company xxxxxx
Thanks so much 😊
Loved it Phil 😁👍
Good to hear, thank you.
Stunning cruise. Hired a day boat from lower heyford. Was lovely location. Best wishes
Thanks, you too.

Awesome, thank you very much and welcome aboard!

Thank you. I still struggle to get my head around staircase locks. I've not done many of those.
Nice one Phil , On the move at last !!!
Thank you. I never stop for long.
Lovely trip Phil 👍

It was a few years since I last went down that way.
Dreadging!! Shock, I thought CRT had given up doing that, but a very welcome sight.
Got on my first narrowboat from that boatyard in about 1980, she was a blue boat called Alma and they only had two boats.
This was probably from around that time? You can see ALMA in the boatyard. Captain Worzel. ruclips.net/video/JuVyfy18J7s/видео.htmlsi=-WlDm_fQYQgEI5ZM

October 2022. I got so far behind with the editting that I didn't record many trips in 2023.

Oh yes definitely better now, my comment got me thinking about some of those trips, when Yoda travelled with you 😊 does he still?
Well Yoda stays inside nowadays.
@@NarrowboatJourneys Cool, I was thinking he might be off on Empire business, but I guess that's all behind him now. 😁
Nicely done, I'm watching with interest for mooring points, I'll be down there in June, hopefully the weather will be as good, have a good weekend.
Plenty of places to moor along that stretch of canal. Pretty isolated though and terrible for shopping.

I've covered that area before several times and new videos may not be sequential. But try this one: ruclips.net/video/rcuHnF7jUHA/видео.html
@@NarrowboatJourneys thanks Phil, looks like there's a few options between Kidlington Green and Bridge 230 where I'll be picking him up 🙂
Moorings down there are limited and there's just no knowing whether there will be any spaces available until you get there?
