Narrowboat Journey: Northbrook Lock to Pigeons Lock, Kirtlington, on the Oxford Canal.

Starting off below Dashwoods lock I head south to Northbrook lock, and then on down a very isolated and rural stretch of canal to Pigeons lock, Kirtlington. On the way I pass by Kirtlington Quarry, an old limestone/cement works.

Thanks Brian. Boating early or late in the day is safer and more peaceful. Night cruises in summer are also very relaxing. Early morning is the best time to get the cats in!

You're using a very good cameras with good resolution and frame rate. It can get annoying with other youtubers and videos that stutter or go fuzzy when the camera can't keep up. Yours are pin-sharp and have good focal depth as well I notice. Nice video! Thank you for sharing.

Thank you. Both are GoPros and set at 1080p at 30fps. Quite fast enough for narrowboating.

Hello Phil. With your extensive knowledge of the canal waterways, you should consider writing a book. It would be most helpful to any new boaters. To know where to and not to moor up. Where the nearest shop or post office is and how to get to the nearest town. Thanks for the video.

Great idea but it would go out of date very quickly. Shops, Post Offices, Pubs etc are closing down all over the place.

I suppose, after 34 years, you must be very au fait with where best to stop and stock up on groceries. Especially in a rural area like this one. It would be great if you did a chatty vlog sometime on how far north/south/east/west, you've been on the system.
