Your filming, editing and storytelling is getting so damn good Mike. These videos keep me glued to the screen, and the only complaint I have is that I wish they were longer!! Seriously my favorite creator on this platform. The respect you show to these people and their tradition just makes me smile, thanks so much for sharing these journeys with us my dude.

Iraq is oppressed by tourism. Most foreigners think that the war is still going on in Iraq, but it ended in 2017. We Iraqis love foreigners and welcome them, and Iraq is a country in which there are many religions, such as Yazidi, Sabian, Christian, Muslim, and many sects. Thank you, Mike, for showing Iraq in a positive light 🇮🇶❤

@M7EL2 Agreed. I'm American and I've been under the belief that places such as China, Iraq, Afghanistan, Russia etc all are too dangerous to travel to. Our government and media are to blame they want us to dislike the people to a point of basically just being pro war. It is disgusting what the men behind the scenes will do to push starting wars nobody wants to fight in. Only war worth fighting would be against the crooked liars manipulating the masses like puppets.

I'm assuming you're American? If so have you ran into any issues traveling there as a tourist? I have contemplated going there quite a bit over the last year and even found an Iraqi who spoke English online and asked him quite a few questions. Hi friend, just to clarify, the house owner who asked you for money is named Abu Haider. He is a very well-known person and a major tourist attraction. He makes a living by touring people in the marshes by boat, serving them fish, and providing a place to stay since Chebaish doesn’t have any hotels. The guy who dropped you there most likely didn’t know another place or didn’t explain how the entire thing works, so it’s normal for Abu Haider to ask for money in this case. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed your time in Iraq, and see you in Basra!

Yeah he probably assumed when he said "I want to meet the Marsh Arabs" that he was talking about Abu Haider and understood this already.
Ahh well. Lost in translation I guess. Everyone seemed lovely and I don't think he thought it was a bad thing.
He just wanted a more natural experience I feel. He always seems fairly honest about things

Not for the reason of them being funny, just because it fills me with joy you portraying the country and the people.
I have never been there and have no relations, but I feel the misunderstandings and clichés towards the country need to be eradicated.
Thank you Mike, keep it up ❤

Hey Mike, I love your videos about visiting Iraq. I am an Ezidi Iraqi and I am from Australia. I recommend you to visit Kurdistan and there is a place there called Lalish. It’s one of the sacred places in Iraq it belongs to Ezidi people which is one of the religious groups in Iraq who were highly victimised by ISIS. Keep on observing Iraq, I wish you good luck brother.

I am from Australia. There is a lot of Iraqi people where I live in Melbourne. There is this one street near my house that is entirely owned by Iraqi and Afghani families. Everyone is so lovely so it's no surprise to me the people in Iraq are no different.
I haven't seen a single Iraqi man being aggressive in public. Or breaking the law. They are all just hard working people who are humble. And will thrive when given the chance.
Thanks for helping make Australia a better place my friend.
