- This is how to remove the clock light assembly on a 1998 - 2002 Honda Accord.
The LED bulb size you need is a T3 led.
Behind the clock. the circuit board where the bulb connects to
The top is Positive and the bottom is negative.
If your just changing them to regular stock bulb the part number is:
35505-S84-B02
If you want the light to be brighter..

Gr8, Jephu. Thanks particularly for being thorough in showing how to check the bulb works properly by turning on the ignition--that made a unique difference with me in replacing my bulb. It is not the case that turning on the headlights alone will show if the repair worked.

Thank you for your video, you saved me about $60.00 in labor! To get a replacement bulb, I went to my local Honda dealership. They had the bulb, and it was only $2.19.
On my 1998 Accord, there is a small spring between the male prongs on the hazard switch component and the female wire harness connector. If this spring is not in place before reconnecting the wire harness to the hazard switch, the switch will not click on and off. I found this out the hard way, as the spring popped out when I disconnected the harness, and flew into the hole in the dash where the clock goes. Being that the spring was now gone, I had to make do with a spring from a pen.

It’s hilarious what mechanics say “can’t be done” Some asshat stole my cat off my ‘98 Accord so I had straight pipe put in place of the cat and ordered a o2 sensor simulator off eBay to turn off the CEL. Exhaust shop said that wouldn’t fix my CEL light, and in fact it damn sure did!

I had a 12v wheat bulb in my stash (model rail road light).
I just pulled the old bulb out of the base, and put the new bulb in, and wrapped it around like the OEM.
Boom.
Clock light. LoL.

Thanks for sharing this. It'd be nice if you could redo the video, though. On nearly every critical step, you put your hand in front of the camera so the viewer couldn't see what you were doing at all. And you raced through the steps. If you're going to take the time to demonstrate something on video, make sure you do it in a way that people can actually see what you're doing. Plus, just take your latex gloves off. You really don't need them. I've done hundreds of repairs on my Honda Accord, including major ones (replacing clutch, pumps, etc.). You might need gloves for things that involve motor oil or major grease. Interior repairs, however? Usually not. I'd pull out gloves to remove the front seats or seatbelts in my car, or to repair the emergency brake. That's about it. You'll not get your hands dirty inside the car doing much of anything else.

You risk the chance of blowing a fuse. What is the reason for not wanting to remove the 2 plug that takes seconds to take apart?
+DIY: Car Modz I was just curious , but I will definitely disconnect them then. At first I didn't think power was running to it , but I guess if clock is powered up , current is running through lines.

Changing dashboard bulbs to LED (2002 Accord) has been a bitch. The T3,T5 and T4.2 LEDs either don't screw in tight or don't fully light up or don't light at all. I'm about to give up with this shit.

Not all of them can be change out. Some are more difficult than others. You have to take it apart and look and see. If they are plain twist type bulb then.. yes.. it is very simple.. it should be bulb #74.
There are 2 sets of bulbs in my 02 accord ex climate control. If you are lucky you can take the module out and replace the lightbulbs from the back or you may have a deeper problem where you may have to de solder LEDs off the integrated circuit board and replace them. It may be easier to replace the whole ac control unit if you can’t or won’t solder. Alternatively, you could find a cellphone repair shop in your area that specializes in repairing circuits and ask them to fix it.
Clock light and hazard light won't turn on would that be a fuse?

You need to disassemble the light assembly and add some foil to reflect the light. You can also solder in extra wires to the circuit board and route the wire to the opposite side to add additional led light.

I changed it to a LED bulb but it still won't light up. I flipped the bulb both ways for the polarity. still doesn't work... what's wrong?
+Derek Nguyen You need a multi meter to check continuity and see if the clock housing is getting power. It only turns on when you have the car on.

+Derek Nguyen You "think" .. how do you know.. you need to test the connection. Its not working because it's either not getting power or your clock assembly is broken.
It's probably a blown fuse. Check Fuse 9 on the driver's side Pin 2 is White with a Yellow line this 12V all the time

Sarah Windisch If your replacing the clock bulb with a regular stock bulb then the easiest would be to purchase it directly from the dealership. They sell the bulb and the socket assembled together so all your doing is removing the old bulb with the socket and replacing it with the new one. Exact same procedure as shown on the video.. only difference is your not replacing with led equivalent part.
