- In this cake decorating tutorial, I show you how I made this Wafer Paper Floral Wreath Cake featuring Textured Buttercream and Textured Wafer Paper. You can add wafer paper to buttercream. :) I hope you enjoy!

Wafer Paper Conditioner: mix 2 Tbs distilled water with 1/2 tsp food grade glycerine in a small spray bottle and shake it up. Can be kept in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

It’s beautiful. But have a question…why not use fake or real flowers? It seems like a lot of time is used to make the wafer paper flowers. If time is your most expensive cost I am not seeing the benefit of wafer paper creations. Can you explain or clear up what I am missing? Or maybe I need to be enlightened on the benefits please. Your work is beautiful!
That is why you have to add to the cost. You need to pay youself;) If they like the look, but don't want to pay for the time, then real or fake would be the next best option. But again, they need to pay for those also.
There are a few reasons to make your own wafer paper flowers. However, probably the main reason is you can get the look of flower you want. Another reason is that the colors are softer and more realistic as well as the wafer paper itself as apposed to gum paste say. Thirdly, they do display your artistic talent better than real or fake flowers, some people like that aspect. There are several other small reasons, but yes, real or fake flowers are easier and more cost effective when it comes to time.
