    What a very brilliant presentation! I must confess your videos are amazing, very clear and easy to understand. The good Lord will continue to bless you with wisdom. I have some questions: 1. If the aim of my research is to use qualitative analysis to back up or support my quantitative analysis, do I need to formulate separate research questions for the qualitative aspect or adopt those used for the quantitative aspect of the work? 2. How would I present the findings of three methods under different research questions in qualitative analysis. Thank you.

    • @drphilipadu
      @drphilipadu  4 месяца назад

      Thank you for your kind words and blessings. We normally use qualitative data to address a qualitative research question which should be an open-ended question in nature. Due to this, it is recommended to have a qualitative research question although, you plan to use the findings to support the quantitative findings.
      For your 2nd question, your goal is to analyze all qualitative data from different methods and extract relevant excerpts (irrespective of the data source) to help you all the research questions. You can present the themes arranging them based on their respective research questions they are addressing.
      I hope this helps! I provide methodology consultation, if you are interested, you can email me: info@drphilipadu..com

    • @drphilipadu
      @drphilipadu  7 дней назад +1

      You're welcome. It is quiet different from literature review. Research setting is about describing where the data was collected and your experience during the data collecting stage.

    • @drphilipadu
      @drphilipadu  10 месяцев назад +1

      You're welcome!! It looks like you have a lot of themes. I suggest you consider categorizing them further to have about 5 themes for each of the research questions. Many thanks to you Dr. Phillip for the good job you are doing. I find your contents highly insightful and helpful.
    However, my question is: "How do you present the findings from the data collected using two different data collected methods, namely; focused group discussion and interviews in a qualitative study? Is it proper to generate themes from the two separately and interpret/discuss the findings separately?

    • @drphilipadu
      @drphilipadu  10 месяцев назад +1

      You're welcome!! Based on best practices, we normally follow the act of triangulation (see: ruclips.net/video/bmldtV4n5Pk/видео.htmlsi=t7GOa5i97_PxEfj6) where we explore a phenomenon using more than one data collection strategy or data source. With this in mind, I suggest you generate codes and themes representing both sets of data. We normally don't separate them, especially, if they are all addressing the same research questions.

    • @jacobodiong2498

    Thank you so much Dr Philip. Amazing content you put out I must admit. So my question is centered around theme driven format approach, especially the table part. So, I have got 6 interview questions and 3 themes, do you suggest I present my 3 themes for each of the 6 questions when showing my main findings? Besides, when presenting this study on a poster, don't you think it would be too much on a poster considering it would mean producing 6 tables per interview questions showing the 3 teams? Kindly clarify sir. Thank you!

    • @drphilipadu
      @drphilipadu  Месяц назад +1

      You're welcome! We normally present the findings based on the research questions but not interview questions. Also, we analyze the data to develop themes to address not the interview questions but the research questions. So, in your case, I would present the 3 themes to address the research question. I hope this helps!
