  • Worrying labour laws contraventions have been found at a Bronkhorstspruit factory. An inspection by labour department officials found that employees are subjected to unsafe and exploitative working conditions. Gauteng Labour Department chief inspector Adv. Michael Msiza says the working conditions at the factory are dire. He adds that upon arrival, they found that the employer isn't compliant with labour legislations.

      That is what happens most of the time but now and then they have to raid someone so that people don't say they are not doing their job. It is like the drug dealing in all metropoles. the cops work closely with the drug lords and now and then the druglords will make use of a fall guy who gets paid well who will go to jail after the druglords tipped off the cops so that the cops looks very good doing their "job"

    In this instance, the government must try enforce compliance and compensation for those injured. But it is an extremely stupid and misguided obsession to close the company. There is a demand for their product in the market, and there are people who need jobs. Why is everyone fixated in getting the company closed. Dept of Labour must do their job on inspection and help companies comply, and allow our people get jobs and make a living.

    • @nicolaasludick4807
      @nicolaasludick4807 2 месяца назад

      Depending on whom the company belongs to, the fact that there are people who got injured and may never be able to work again looks like it has been lost on you. As long as the factorry keeps on producing the King can get his money. In terms of African customary thinking that is acceptable, at least the "King" is making money, whoever that is. This comment is a clear indication of customary thinking, how can you now use the law to close the factory. You are taking work away from our people, but the one making the most money does not have to take the risk of loosing limb or life - under african customary law that is acceptable as long as the "King" does not loose.
      Does the above comment really show a concern for the poor people who needs jobs or does it speak to the greed of the "King"?

    If the relevant government departments and their affiliated government agencies carry on with their complacent and complicit roles in disenfranchising the people of South Africa, especially the marginalised, a bloody revolution is inevitably eminent. I can confidently say that the relevant government departments and their "competent" agencies work in silos, and they are often ill prepared when conducting these inspections. You would think they are rendering customer service the way they handle these evil transgressors. Why is SARS never present in these inspections? What is the probability that a company that does not make contributions to the UIF and Workmens Compensation, will comply with employee tax deductions and company tax laws? It's mind boggling why SARS would sleep on the job when it comes to foreigners when they have adequate competency to rein in on South African tax defaulters.
