This is such an underrated song, duran duran is always way ahead of time. They have never been critics darling as compared to u2 . U2 farts and its top of the charts and they put out their best stuff and it never makes it in the charts. There are so many hidden gems in the Duran Duran catalog that every song can be a single in its own right.

Can't believe how fast the change from the 80s to the 90s happened. I mean this song was recorded in 1989, and the video was probably shot end 89, or early 90, and yet there is no trace of anything memorable about 80s fashion in it.
Especially when comparing this to 1979/1980 when 80s fashion and pop culture hadn't been realised yet.

Liberty wasn't properly promoted during this era. It flopped, big style, pity.
remember hearing this as a "world premiere" on KROQ Los Angeles in August 1990 and being very impressed because it was a very different for this band. also because it didn't sound like anything I was hearing on top 40 radio. unfortunately it didn't do very well either at top 40 or Modern Rock radio in the U.S.
for me,it's one of their better songs.

I agree. Bad timing. The 90s belonged to grunge rock and all that music from the Seattle/Portland area. DD were no longer the flavor of the month and struggled to find their place.

It's a shame that this album was not well received at the time of it's release. It was due to the fact they completely changed their sound and style. But I heard the whole album and and to me it's a diamond in the rough. I still have my copy and I do enjoy it.😊

This is one of *the* most underrated DD songs ever.
Saw/heard it in college, 1990 to 1991.
DD was the soundtrack to my childhood, and with this song they became the soundtrack of my young adulthood.

Duran Duran was so big in the 80s, that when styles changed, they became the group that wouldn't die right in the 90s. Boy bands was still big in the late 80s and early 90s, but they had to be teenagers (New Edition, NKOTB for example). Love this song still.

Eu comprei em Copacabana o álbum Liberty. Conheço o Duran duran desde 1983.
One of the most underrated Duran Duran songs. Has that American summer fun feel good melody with good lyrics. I love how this song still has their 80s feel even though this song came out in 1990.
