Very nice walk along the trail. Felt like I was right there. As far as content, I like to see a mix of trail, you, views, people you meet. when you take breaks and what you eat for your meals, hostels you stay at. Like that. Guess you'll get many different opinions. Great job of videoing your journey and your commentary is very good. Happy trails!
Literally watching you walk made me feel like I was on the trail. And I WAS on a own trail, with my dog, and I was keeping pace with you and it was so fun. Thanks for doing it that way. Glad you’re having a good time. TY!
We can’t just go cold turkey on your mug, especially when you’re smiling from ear to ear because of the trail and adventure. Great job and an amazing journey so far Bandit.
Great video. Enjoyed seeing the trail and hearing the natural sounds. Would be nice to see you prepare a meal. I personally would like to see your bear bag process
You do you brother….its your channel, videos and journey. I found that my trail videos evolved as I hiked/v-logged North, probably less FaceTime and more trail time lol, but I think you have a great balance of both. Love your positive outlook man.
Great. Thanks for all the details, and the variety in your videos. Sometimes feels like I’m almost there. ☺Maybe I should be (except back and knee and foot and heel, etc etc. haha)
This is exactly the kind of Appalachian Trail video I love. It makes me feel I am there with just enough of your appreciative commentary to feel like I’m walking with a friend. I’m a LOTR nerd too. I definitely understand what you meant. 😊
We certainly appreciate YOU! Don’t forget that…but the TRAIL is what we all want to see! You do you , we will continue to watch but the trail and your commentary is the best in my opinion.
Saturday, March 02nd: Very nice video. Thanks for sharing. Good luck! You got this! Being flexible at shelters is important. Banjo pretty cool to see. Happy Trails! Ross08
March 8, 2024 Chuck thank you for the amazing views. I enjoy seeing the views as well as you. Seeing the person doing the hiking keeps it in perspective. I am also from NC. Greensboro area. I will be thru hiking in 2025. So everything you show helps. 😊
The plant with the reddish leaves is called Galax Urceolata. I live in western NC and we always just call it Galax. In the summer the leaves are a bright green color, turning to the reddish color in late fall and winter. One more comment, if your knee pain is on the outer side of your knee it may be IT band syndrome. There is a brace made for this, that will fit around your leg above the knee. If you can't find one at one of your resupply stops, you can always buy an ace bandage, and wrap it tightly around your leg above your knee, this may help. I enjoy your videos and your commentary, and appreciate all your effort, so please keep'em coming.
I like seeing the trail and shelters. Love listening to you talk and seeing your face. I'd like to sometimes see your trail food choices, maybe a snapshot of morning routines, coffee or what ever you enjoy. Also tent sites between the shelters and other areas. Really enjoying your videos while I'm out on the road in a semi.
YOU did this just perfect. EXCELLENT content. Love the trail, shelter footages. Love to see your face when we do. Prefer this time of the year on the trail with vista views. I like looking for nest in trees in winter. Thanks so much for this. Yeah... my left knee too.
We feel it was your best video. The music does take away from the sound of the woods, even when you are not talking ... the sound is soothing. A lot of people only show themselves and always you can watch the viewers dwindle. You are doing a great hike.
Love this video. I’ve watched so many videos on the AT and have seen a great deal more of this section of trail thanks to this video. Great job! Keep taking care of the knee. You are doing great.
Hey Chuck! I’ve been following along all of your videos. This one was great to dedicate it to the trail, but I like seeing a mixture of you and the trail. This one ran a little long - but still a great video. Maybe consider using music to underscore your voice. That’s what I did on my videos after someone told me to try it. I think it sets a really nice tone. I sure am enjoying your journey though. I’m praying safety over you and that your knee hangs in there for the long haul. God bless!
I really enjoy your videos. I truly enjoyed seeing the trail, just like I was there walking it. I have seen hundreds of videos and wondered why people don't film themselves at the beginning of the day, film the trail, and film themselves at the end of the trail that day. Love your videos and your commentary. Could you show how you set up your campsite, how you make coffee in the morning, or cook a meal, how to you stuff all your gear and coats and stuff in that backpack? Thank you so much for sharing your trip!
Thanks for taking us along on your trek! I love hiking but I just had surgery on my foot and I am stuck in my recliner for an another week or so 🤨! It’s nice to follow along!😊
Absolutely love seeing the actual trail! Great video today! Keep on getting up that trail! PS...My Mom was originally from North Carolina too. She was born and raised near Jefferson NC in Ashe County. Many of my cousins now live in the Hickory and Lenoir areas now.
Really enjoying your videos Bandit. I woke to a bear sniffing the head of my tent at the campsite of this this day’s end in 2021. Hope those giant squirrels left you alone. Cheers!
GREAT VIDEO. WHEN YOU WALKED VIA THE WET GROUND I GUESS YOUR FEET GOT WET? OR DO YOU HAVE WATERPROOF SHOES? I WAS HOPING TO SEE HOW YOU GET YOUR FOOD UP IN THE TREE AND GET IT DOWN. ENJOY SEEING THE LOGISTICS OF SETTING UP CAMP AND TEARING DOWN. WOULD ENJOY SEEING YOU PACK EVERYTHING UP AGAIN IN YOU BACKPACK. LOVE SEEING YOUR LAST PART OF THE BEAUTIFUL SUNSET. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!!
Feet just get wet. I have waterproof socks, but only plan on using them for snow. I’ll try and do some more camp videos. Those are kinda hard because it’s a busy time
Your videos are well balanced, trail, you and your voice. Please don't listen to comments on how to change how you are doing what you do. You know what they say about opinions, like .......everyone has one. You are doing great!
Great video. The Rhododendron blossoms should be in a few months. They and the azaleas are some of my favorite flowers. Their blooms and scents are amazing.
I really love your videos! They are very well done and are the perfect mix of people and scenery. They really are a joy to watch so keep up the good work, you are doing a fantastic job! My husband just started the AT (he’s on day 2) so maybe he will see you at some point. Stay safe and keep on posting videos. I watch every night!! :)
Awesome video Bandit I enjoyed watching it because of the trail 👣 that was in it too don't worry about how long it was either the longer videos are a good thing now too beautiful day out there and keep em coming cause ill follow you all the way
Great videos Bandit you are doing an awesome job. I wish I was on the trail, thru hiked the AT in 2019 at 60 and think about it every day! I made some great friends on the trail and we stay in touch at least once every week.
We are little behind on your schedule. We had just found your channel a couple of days ago. You had mentioned that some people were suggesting that you video less of you and more of the trail. I think a good mix would be appropriate. I personally like it when the person video add some commentary. But I agree that see more of what you are hiking would be nice to see as well as though vast views you come upon. But please don't have a completely silent video. It's like watching a silent movie without seeing the people involved. LOL Anyway, I think you are doing a good job with it. I know it's something new for you so you will get better with it as you go.
You are defining 'short day' with miles.... 11 1/2 or some such. How long did that take in 'hours.' Am following you and Bluegrasson. Am from Louisville.
There once was a Trail hiker named Bandit The oohs and the aahs he done Panned it Y'all subscribe now he'd say Watch and Like every day Was the last thing he'd say, then he canned it!

Thanks for following along. Good looking dog😄
We can’t just go cold turkey on your mug, especially when you’re smiling from ear to ear because of the trail and adventure. Great job and an amazing journey so far Bandit.
Thanks. I’ll keep mixing it up, but sometimes the trail is nice to see too
Great video. Enjoyed seeing the trail and hearing the natural sounds. Would be nice to see you prepare a meal.
I personally would like to see your bear bag process
Great suggestion! I’ll do it in a future video
You do you brother….its your channel, videos and journey. I found that my trail videos evolved as I hiked/v-logged North, probably less FaceTime and more trail time lol, but I think you have a great balance of both. Love your positive outlook man.
Thanks for the encouragement
Thank you for showing more of the trail It is lovely and rugged at the same time and the views are much appreciated.
Glad you enjoyed it. It’s so incredible out here
Great. Thanks for all the details, and the variety in your videos. Sometimes feels like I’m almost there. ☺Maybe I should be (except back and knee and foot and heel, etc etc. haha)
Hahhahaha. We all get those from time to time
This is exactly the kind of Appalachian Trail video I love. It makes me feel I am there with just enough of your appreciative commentary to feel like I’m walking with a friend.
I’m a LOTR nerd too. I definitely understand what you meant. 😊
Hahahah. I figured there were those out there who would know what I meant😄
Great video. I like when there is no music. Nature's sounds are the best!
Couldn't agree more!
I agree!
We certainly appreciate YOU! Don’t forget that…but the TRAIL is what we all want to see! You do you , we will continue to watch but the trail and your commentary is the best in my opinion.
Thanks I’ll always try to keep the trail first
I like the mix with you and the trail. You're doing great.
Thanks
Thank you for showing the trail so we feel like being there. Love the sound of the water and crunchy leaves.
Glad you enjoyed it. It’s hard to capture the beauty out here
Loved seeing those beautiful views, felt like I was hiking right along with you!
Much admiration for what you are doing!
Glad you enjoyed it! Happy to have you along

Chuck thank you for the amazing views. I enjoy seeing the views as well as you. Seeing the person doing the hiking keeps it in perspective. I am also from NC. Greensboro area. I will be thru hiking in 2025. So everything you show helps. 😊
Glad you’re enjoying it. Keep training and preparing. It’s a journey of a lifetime.

I’ll do them. Camp shots are difficult because they’re usually busy
Like it very much. As someone who will never be able to do hikes again this is much appreciated 🙂
Glad to have you along
YOU did this just perfect. EXCELLENT content. Love the trail, shelter footages. Love to see your face when we do. Prefer this time of the year on the trail with vista views. I like looking for nest in trees in winter. Thanks so much for this. Yeah... my left knee too.

Another great video
Bailey misses having you to bark at in the morning.
Hahaha. I’ll be back before you know it

Love the spectacular sunset mountain view at the end! No music necessary.
I agree! Thanks
I like seeing trail and your getting to my neck of woods Natahala
Beautiful country

Absolutely love seeing the actual trail! Great video today! Keep on getting up that trail! PS...My Mom was originally from North Carolina too. She was born and raised near Jefferson NC in Ashe County. Many of my cousins now live in the Hickory and Lenoir areas now.
A good balance of the trail and you is a great option. Others have included both food on the trail and in town.
That is awesome! Hickory is not far from my home
Thanks Chuck for your video I desire to do the trail someday I’m your age 62 and I’m practicing so thanks for all your sharing
You can do it! Keep the dream going
Great video!! Gotta see more of you!🥾🥾😎🏕️
I’ll keep em coming
That stretch is a good representation of how smooth it averages out to be, in my opinion, (missing the ups and downs of course ;
Hard to video th ups and downs😂
What is Blessing to see that Sunrise on the mountains. I have a REQUEST……mile markers either at the beginning or end. PLEASE Great video. Thanks 🍃🌿
Trying to get better at the mile markers. I’m trying to include them now
Really enjoying your videos Bandit. I woke to a bear sniffing the head of my tent at the campsite of this this day’s end in 2021. Hope those giant squirrels left you alone. Cheers!
Wow. Not something I want to experience

Love your positivity! You are such a nice man! I hope I meet you on the trail!
I hope so too! Thanks
The views were stunning today! I don’t think I’d ever get anywhere because I would stop and take too many pictures lol
I kinda have the same problem
Love your videos. Beautiful hiking weather and views thru the bare trees. Wait til those rhododendrons are in bloom. WOW. Stay well and happy hiking.
Thanks
Great video. The Rhododendron blossoms should be in a few months. They and the azaleas are some of my favorite flowers. Their blooms and scents are amazing.
We’ve been watching. The Rhodes are already showing some buds
I really love your videos! They are very well done and are the perfect mix of people and scenery. They really are a joy to watch so keep up the good work, you are doing a fantastic job! Thanks 👍
I liked it without music so i could hear the leaves crunching, the wind blowing, and the water flowing in the streams
Thanks. I kinda like it that way myself
Excellent!
Many thanks!
Loved seeing the trail, thank you! Great video 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love It!
Thanks
You are defining 'short day' with miles.... 11 1/2 or some such. How long did that take in 'hours.' Am following you and Bluegrasson. Am from Louisville.
It’s hard to define. Some days 11 miles can be done in 5 hours. Other days it may take 10. It depends on the elevation gain
Was there a lot of damage to rhododendron and brush along trail or was it cut? Beautiful days on the trail
I think a little of both
You mention a broken lens cap. What type camera are you using. What sort of attachments?
It’s an iPhone 15 pro. I keep covers over the lenses
If I had waited till the end to send comment,I could have saved the request. Thanks 🍃🌿
No worries! Glad to have you along
What shelter did you stay at day 8?
I’m thinking that was Muskrat Creek shelter
What kind of gimbals are using? Camera?
Just holding an IPhone 15 pro in my hand

Great video! Better without the music! Keep them coming!
Thanks, will do!

Not sure I understand, but thanks for following along
A poet, very nice!
Who else would call you Chucky, watch your hike every night.
Is this Robbie?
Why or how did you skip Tennessee
I didn’t. I haven’t gotten there yet
I think you do a good mix of talking and views.
Thanks
LMAO, we do get views like that. When we’re following you!
Hahaha. Thanks
I like the no music.
Thanks. Me too
Watching over the years, I think most people don't like music in the videos.
I never really did, but understand those who do
Love the scenery! Keep up the good work and be safe!
Thank you! Will do!
