Who else wants to try such a stunt, make sure you never tie a strap to hitch ball assembly. That holding pin breaks and you have 30 lbs steel hitch flying to your cab.
It is torque, weight, friction. Static friction is higher than dynamic friction. So once the wheels slip, then gunning it is worse. So tires affect the overall performance.
That was awesome! Hey sorry about your rock chips, thanks for clarifying that too. The paint seems very fragile, I traded my 21 GMC 1500 duramax in with 23k miles and zero scratches or dings. My new lightning already has a chip in the tailgate. Sad. Lol, but you made me feel better Haha!
Hi! So the 5.0L V8 F-150 actually gets more torque to the ground than a Lightning in 4L, so if you put weight in the bed the V8 will win. It’s crawl ratio. Takes the 5.0’s 410 lb ft and put it through the torque converter at 2:1, then the 4.69:1 1st gear, then the 2.7:1 low range, and then a 3.55 typical rear end. That’s a crawl ratio range between 42-45:1 which far out-torque the Lightning. Add 500 lbs to the regular F-150 and street tires and you will have a vastly differing result.
Wow. Never put a ball on a hitch under that sort of load. The ball could break off and could be catastrophic. You’re also putting unnecessary rotational force on the hitch. Take the hitch out, slide the loop into the receiver and slip the pin through the loop.
I guess if you want a truck with a quick 1/4 mile or to win a tug of war than go ahead and buy an EV truck, but if you need to do trucky things like tow, haul, or long road trips you should probably stick with a V8 or diesel.
Given your affiliation with Ford and a dealership, I would can this video and redo it. Attaching the rope to the tow ball is a dangerous game, which is exacerbated by the fact that it is a drop hitch. You should use a receiver recovery point instead. And that is if you were just pulling one vehicle, but you are doing a tug of war which compounds the problems.
Doing this with the ball hitches is one of the stupidest, most dangerous things Ive seen. They are not meant for this and if one breaks it will become a very large bullet coming through the back window. Gotta be smarter than the equipment you are using.
All these gimmicks to try and convince people to purchase a truck that has so many inconveniences If your a public transportation commuter and drive this truck only on the weekends it may be tolerable to bang around town short trips but as a work truck or a heavily used dialer commuter this electric truck is flat out an unpractical nuisance

If your holding pin snaps while towing 20k lbs you have a bigger problem. 😂😂😂
Fun to watch!!! The F250 is a real beast!!

That was a fun video!
What are the weights of the trucks, usually it's just the heaviest that wins (assuming you have reasonable power).
The Lightning weighs 6,800 lbs +/-. The super duty is slightly heavier.
So this Lightning is the SR version? ER weighs more and has 580 HP.
Weight wins

Not a problem for the SD!
What hitch set up is on that superduty?
I see I’m not the only one waiting for the blacked out badges underneath the mirrors to come in…
why F-150 lightning block wheel spin on ground ?
I’m considering getting the Ford lightning
Fun truck, I know folks bag on it like it can’t tow across country, but it was never advertised that it would.
Place a 500+ pound load on that V8 F150 bed and see what happens :)
The Lighting has street tires. The gas F150 All terrain/off-road tires. 🤔
00:56 u were moving before u completed saying 3 plus the delay form the phones gives u a bigger reaction time.
Those trucks are gorgeous.

You still got the jump cause he cant drive
Hilarious.....
Toys truck 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Expected, but the lag in the lightnings menus. Wow. It's like a 2006 smart phone. SO slow..
The lag you are referring to is because the video was shot in 4X slow motion! There is very little lag in normal speed. It is literally 4X faster.
@@Drive_Electric really? @ like 3.22. Everything else in in regular speed, but you shoot the UI in 4x slomo. What would you do that?
@@MatsAndersson-pi4me its slow mo watch how slow the finger moves
@@kubeanie18 Sure, but still weird that everything else is shot in 1x speed but the UI is in slo-mo.
@@MatsAndersson-pi4me to show u the screen so u can read it
😎🍷🛻
The lightning dragged the F150 before the F150's wheels started spinning.
Ram Rev can beat ford lighting for sure

Then they had to charge it between takes.
Lol Haha
lightings suck and are overpriced
