Brad Pitt releases his first statement after Angelina’s divorce filing, plus find out what lead to their split...
While everyone is still in denial over the fact that Brangelina is over, it’s getting even more official with a statement from Brad Pitt himself…
After news broke that Angelina had filed for divorce from Brad over what she cited as irreconcilable differences, Brad Pitt made his first statement to People Magazine, saying QUOTE, "I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well being of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time."
Wow, from that statement it sounds like the decision for the pair to divorce was NOT a mutual one! It also sounds like both Brad and Angelina are putting their kids first, because both actors separately asked the press to respect their children’s privacy. So at least they’re on the same page there? Aaaahhh, why is this happening?!
Well, apparently it sounds like there might be a few different factors at play. Angelina’s rep released a statement on the matter earlier saying QUOTE, “...This decision was made for the health of the family. She will not be commenting at this time, and asks that the family be given their privacy during this difficult time.”
While that statement does explain that Angelina’s decision to divorce was for the “health of the family”, it still leaves things sounding pretty vague. But one source close to the situation clarified things a little bit, explaining to People magazine that the pair didn’t always see eye to eye on their parenting styles, saying QUOTE, "They always had disagreements when it came to disciplining the kids...With all the kids, it did tend to get chaotic many times...[Pitt] has always been stricter, and wanted the kids to have more structure". Now, the source did made it clear that Brad never used any kind of physical discipline, but did allege that he would QUOTE, "get frustrated sometimes and yell at the kids." Meanwhile, it seems that Angelina took a less strict approach to raising their children. The source explained QUOTE, "Angelina always had a more relaxed attitude when it came to the kids. She definitely never yells.” Well, if this IS true, they wouldn’t be the first to divorce over differing parenting styles...
Previous reports from a source at TMZ alleged that the reason for the split was due to Angelina being fed up with Brad’s marijuana and alcohol abuse, as well as her assertion that he has an anger problem, which she felt was becoming dangerous for the kids. Of course, for now all of these reasons are simply allegations, as nothing has been confirmed from Brad or Angelina’s camp. But whatever the real reason for the split is, Angelina wants full custody of the children, and is asking the court to only grant Brad legal custody with visitation rights. Which is a pretty big deal.
Dang you guys, this is a lot to take in. Brangelina have been the Golden Couple of Hollywood since 2004! But it’s just a reminder that the only two people who really know what’s going on behind closed doors in a relationship is the couple themselves...

Yes me too. They need to rise above what differences they have between the two of them, and now focus on the family. Focus on being being parents together. Thing is with their complete opposite thinking in parenting, there probably needs to be a mediator who teaches them to compromise and choose their battles wisely. I can't help but feel sorry for Brad. I mean all those kids and, no structure. I'd be flying off the handle too. If Angelina thinks no structure and letting them run rampant is cute now, she's in for a huge awakening when they get to be teenagers. Try teaching them at that point. Finally, if your fighting all the time in front of the kids then maybe it is time for divorce. Only they know that. However to just file for divorce so fast, and exclude him from physical custody, well that right away lets you know, she's in it, and ready to get down and dirty already!! Angelina in previous magazines has done nothing but praise Brads parenting skills. Many times over, she said what a good man, and great partner Brad is. So, that's why I tend to be a more sympathetic to Brad. I feel bad for the whole family, but I have a feeling they will work it out.

I swear I can't even find a divorced couple in my mind right now wth.. Everyone I know is marriade for freaking forever (even after their kids are all gone). Counting family members, neighbors, friends, parents of classmates and even friends of friends, etc..

I feel like celebreties, first and foremost, are all a little cray lol. And not exactly in a bad way, but just.. cray. And they become even more as the time passes due to their lifestyle. They end up living in a world where everyone cares about them too much, ask _them_ stuff and never the otherwise.. it's a very unrealistic life, it becomes very vain and self-centered. Too much power, too much money, too much 0 consequences over things, makes them, I guess, not take things as seriously as us. They don't need to work as hard for stuff. It creates, even if they are the best people in the entire world and don't want to be like that, a god-like persona.
Regular people have too many things to worry about, and working on your marriage, in the end, becomes less bothersome than quitting it. Due to this insane lack of power, you need to learn to adjust to things, not run over them.
On the good side, celebreties usually end up when shit is real, and regular people, for many reasons, find themselves trapped in terrible situations that they truly actually shouldn't have.

We don't know if that's the case yet. Angelina has enough flaws of her own. Did you know she doesn't have many friends, if any at all? She said it in an interview and that Brad was her friend, but she also likes Gwen Stefani and they sometimes hang out, esp on kids parties. But to make my point, it seems they have a lot of differences, sometimes that can make it impossible to connect after a while. But so far, it's all speculation at this point.

I have 12 kids.....8 of whom are adopted and no matter what anyone says there are times when disciplining the kids is utterly frustrating. No matter how strong the couple is - this takes a toll on the relationship. Adding to that the natural instinct most men have to calm a situation thru stern control, whereas most mother's tend to nurture emotionally. Both are needed when dealing with all the different personalities and often damage that's come into the family once the child comprehends they were adopted vs natural. I noticed 8 out of 8 that there came a time when each chose to rebel to our way of life as a way of coping with the abandonment they began experiencing.
with all of this going on.. ( and they've only just entered the teen years) space may help this relationship. I don't agree with the quick divorce option. and my own personal life we experienced a four-year separation but then once things calm down we came back together and I thank God we did. because now with the kids and the grandkids they don't have to deal with extra step mommies and step daddies and step brothers and step-sisters and fights over holidays xcetera. I wish them all the best and I also wish Angie had her mother by her side to help her navigate this difficult time.

When you have "different parenting styles" or "anger in front of the children", the thing to do is stay in one house so you can mitigate every situation. The WORST THING is to add another layer of upheaval (divorce arguments) and two separate households with unsupervised time.

The obsession with knives, blood, the relationship with her brother that suggests incest (her brother who, by coincidence, was pictured with her children a few days before the divorce), her conning and seducing of nearly all her male co-stars up to the Pitt relationship (including him)... her eating disorder, the *cutting* (which she admitted), that is one of the clearest signs of BPD. To ignore this about her is denial. Love her or hate her, she's a borderline personality. And any professional will tell you - people with BPD are batshit. They're hateful, narcissistic, and manipulative. Brad Pitt pissed her off, and now she's trying to take his kids from him. What could be more evil than that? Sad to hear. They have had a lot to deal with about her health. Their children are very important to them. Divorce is never easy.
So strange. I just saw the previews for the new Brad Pitt and Marion Cotilliard movie. I was just thinking "wonder if those 2 will get together like him and Angie? Bam! I see this. (at first I thought that WAS Angelina in the movie with Brad-before I saw her closer)

Rightly or wrongly i have had the impression for a long time that -delectable as Angelina is- she is quite a touchy and insecure lady. In recent years I thought she and Brad always appeared slightly stiff and strained when having to pose together for the cameras at red carpet events. Never mind Brad, you can always have meeeeeeee......

Here we go!!! The lawyers are going to play the game of vague accusations making Brad look like a child abuser to strengthen Angelina's custody of the kids. They will try to make Angelina look like Mother Theresa and Brad like Blue Beard. f you can't live together anymore, that's fine. Custody of the kids should be shared equally.

Well, this drives home the notion to me that Brad is the realist in the family. The sane one. The one with real empathy and compassion, reasonable morals and values. He has a heart. She is fake and more concerned about preserving her fake image. There are much better and much less dramatic ways to break up a family but this wasn't her first time and it wont be her last time. She was cray cray before kids and now she's a whole lot more cray cray after kids.

I think she's being very selfish by wanting soul custody. These kids are going through enough, you keep them out of your bullshit. They probebly are both to blame coz they've been together over a decade but only married for 2. They must have grown apart, or their career are suffering because of their busy scedule. She does a lot of humanitairian work abroad besides raising their kids and directie a movie. I think it's a mixture of those things. You fall in love, have kids, fuck a lot and than life happens. I don't know, too many speculaties instead of real facts bit I do think it's strange they've adopted all these kids, just to get divorced that soon? Does make you wonder, maybe something did happen. We will soon find out anyway, in Tinselland nothing stays a secret. Soon we will find out wich big actor is involved in a pedophilia case surrounding the dead actor Corey Haim.....

Different parenting styles should not be a reason for divorce even more difficult things can be settled between people who mutually love and respect each other. Just because she is more realaxed and never yells at the kids in frustration and he does is not a big enough reason for such a family wrecking decision. I think if that would be the reason than what Angelina says is the opposite of what is true for the heatlh of the family. The kids need their parents, both parents there is not a greater damage ( except when there is serious physical and emotional abuse, which is not the case here) than divorce. Is our kind Angelina really in the know how it would affect the children? It would break their hearts and can make them incapable of believing and building lasting relationships themselves in the future.

Agreeing on how to raise the kids in a healthy manner is very important for child-rearing, because kids will be confused by inconsistency in discipline. I don't recommend that parents yell at their kids, except in the most extreme circumstances. I think they could have resolved their problems by going to counseling first, but Angelina made a decision that she's going to have to stick to.

It is a sad situation that any married couple divorce. It can be a result of any number of reasons ranging from a simple "They no longer love each other" to Abusive behaviour such as substance use or physical/psychological abuse from either side. Here is hoping that the divorce comes to a quick respectful and mutually beneficial end for all involved
No one commenting on Brad & Angelina's relationship even knows the couple personally...and it isn't their business, either... or mine. That being said, bear in mind that Angelina had surgery not too long ago, which is probably wreaking havoc with her hormones & judgement. Heavy decision that will change everyone's lives + inject sadness! No one wishes that on anyone. It would be lovely to see 2 such admirable, generous-hearted people work things out like they vowed to. That would be really something!
