Years ago her dad said she needed mental help, and I think he was right. Brad has appeared more normal and doesn't have the weird background that she has. Brad seems to adore his kids and probably went through hell with her to keep the family together. She is the parent I would worry about, Brad should be the one with full custody.

I don't claim to know anything about these individuals personal lives. However I find it interesting that the folks who "shack up" for more than half of their relationship finally marry always seem to divorce. She spent 12 years with this man and didn't see any sign of a temperament or abusive nature? I believe that they just wanted to divorce. Marriage requires sacrifice and commitment that a lot folks just don't want to give. I have seen couples who stay engage 4 years or longer but never seem to find the time to just make it official. They will commit to a job, house, vehicle but write off a human. As long as there is no ring or legal document then there is no commitment. There is always an out. But as soon as they say the wedding nuptials it's as if they feel trapped.

I agree - even statistics back up what you mentioned. Though it seems that Jolie seems to 'run the show' which can put any headship that is natural in a relationship, to the test. Pitt seems to acquiesce even in conversations. And from appearances - Jolie may have control issues stemming from her own childhood. Perhaps there are even some issues with how children should be raised - and this could even divide a marriage quickly. She seems to be a bit to Open minded without borders or boundaries on what is on a spiritual level, or acceptable to God.
It's the Hollywood drug-culture that accepts rampant using as just a lifestyle-choice; Brad Pitt is on steroids. no question; and probably other dugs, and those eventually take their toll on temperament.
So it's very easy for a person to have one temperament, and then after 12 years of drug-use they literally become a completely different person-- especially if they're used to mask something else like bi-polar.
Actors often have mental problems because it makes them more intense, and so they don't treat it because nobody pays to see a mellow actor.

When my parents decided to separate when I was 6 or 7, of course I stayed with my mother but whenever and if I wanted to, all I had to do is call my dad to go over to his house AND stay or him come pick me up. It was never a legal issue. That's what I don't understand. Why won't they just let the children pick and choose when they feel like being with either parent?

She's one of the most mentally unstable people in Hollywood....she didn't want to play real life model Gia (abused, heroin addict, lesbian, died of AIDS @ 26yrs old in the 80's) b/c the character would bring her own issues up, being the same & it would be too emotionally draining & scary....her words, not mine. She cut herself since she was a teen & with her first husband, which would indicate abuse, most likely sexual, she kisses her brother (no boundaries) & refused to let her Father see her kids. Was probably still cutting herself with Billy Bob. Hints of a possible eating disorder, which would be consistent with the cutting & abuse. Low self esteem she was considered unattractive by her peers, made fun of her mouth calling her rude names. You don't erase these problems like shedding dirty clothing. In fact, people calling you beautiful later in life does nothing to help or makes it worse. The hard core substance abuse, also a symptom of abuse. That's just what I KNOW, I'm sure she has some sexual issues as well. Pitt is a relatively normal person. If Jolie spent all her days in therapy her problems couldn't be undone. I'm surpried Pitt was able to hang in there as long.as he did. They've been fronting with the media with kids for years, so Pitt thought they would present a united front in the divorce, but she isn't stable. Going public with accusations against Pitt is HORRIBLE judgment on her part, very bad for the kids & unnecessary! Sole custody is not in the kids best interest unless Pitt was not capable. She could have gotten dependent on painkillers with her health issues & addiction is highly likely with her history, that would explain why she isn't acting in the best interest of the kids.
But the truth is she isn't capable of raising kids properly, she's not adopted to fill that hole in her soul, then adopted again, etc. She got kids to make herself feel better, that's why there are so many of them, & she's figuring it out now they can help heal her, but it's temporary fix & bottom line is you are still the same person with the same problems, no amount of money, fame, or beauty can change that.
Also she's a bitch, she seems to think it's fun to sleep with married/taken men (the low self esteem) since she's done it repeatedly.
If she WERE mentally stable, she could not meet the emotional needs of that many children so close in age, especially when you have a JOB, b/c she's human. It was incredibly selfish of her to adopt/have so many kids to give her unconditional love 100% on HER terms. Her motivation was selfish, the kids might be better off now depending on the circumstances they would have been raised in, if their basic needs were being met, in danger, etc. The mixed race family looks great in theory, but makes things more complicated for the kids & they will have even more problems to deal with..

People should not be so eager to put it all on her - he could very well be an angry drinking and smoking pot too much right now.
