Edit: I know realize you said scattergun, not force-a-nature. Oh well
If the game let you put a drum mag on a combat shotgun, that'd be your best choice for stock.

The editing on these videos is absolutely stellar, soooo funny
i started a run with almost this same gear load out around a mouth a ago. baseball bat, baseball uniform, dc guard armor, baseball grenade, and leather leg armor. the railroad unlock to armor the baseball uniform was helpful but the crazy thing is how much damage a fully upgrade baseball bat can do still just using the rockville slugger for like the past 20 plus levels.

Totally going for that SWATTA build next time when I'll make a new playthrough
Melee blitz builds are by far my favorite in survival. High strength means lots of carry capacity, and melee means it’s very efficiently used since you don’t need to carry things like ammo which can be easily sold for lots of money. Then you also have great damage resistance thanks to vats, and even more if you decide to use power armor. If you don’t use power armor you have insane damage with sneak attacks, and can use sneak attacks to get close. You also have your pick of early game weapons. Early on you can make due with machetes and the combat knife by Cambridge then once you get to the diamond city area you have the Rockville slugger, grognacks axe which for some reason has incredibly low vats cost, and in the late game you can get things like cito’s shinny digger which with high agility and luck gives you effectively infinite AP in vats.
Truly one for the favorites list.
