Pikmin 3: Mission Mode - "Collect Treasure" Platinum Score Attacks

So, this was an interesting experience :P After I finished my 7 day run I decided to tackle Mission Mode. I generally don't really consider myself to be all that good at routing things, and Pikmin is all about the routes (especially in mission mode), so this was quite a challenge. I'm actually really happy with how all these turned out though! I didn't watch any other videos or read about any routes while I was making this, so there was pretty much no outside influence whatsoever; all of these routes I came up with 100% on my own. I also did these in order, so you can kinda see me getting a bit better at the game as I go along. There's some things I'd change if I were to go back and do Tropical Forest again, but ehh.
And for anyone wondering if the highest score shown on the global rankings is the record... well, watch and find out. As it turns out, the answer is something unexpected.
Also not sure whether to call these speedruns or score attacks since they're technically both, but I guess we'll go with score attacks since that's the metric the game actually tracks.
0:00 - Tropical Forest - 7240 (2:51 remaining)
4:59 - Silver Lake - 8620 (3:10 remaining)
10:49 - Thirsty Desert - 12700 (5:12 remaining)
16:39 - Twilight Hollow - 11940 (4:50 remaining)
22:53 - Shaded Garden -10950 (4:19 remaining)

@@Pizzachu0819 you can only go to one area per day, and the most fruit in a single area is 18, so it is impossible to get more than that in a day

My brain can't hardly process what is even happening on screen. I can't imagine the amount of trial and error required to get such a high score.
Also, as others have mentioned- do you intend to speedrun the DLC stages?
That was incredible! I couldn't imagine the time it must have taken you to achieve that level of pik-management (pikmin-agement?)
Could you do this for the DLC missions? I'd love to see that.

I'll give you a tip, when you bring something back, leave it there under the ship, Pikmin that bring stuff back, will wait there, so they will pick it up. This tip is so you can collect more stuff faster

holy **** you are to good also can you speedrun all the collect tresaure regular and dlc's with the battle enimies regualar and dlc i know the video would be long but it wont that long because you have a lot of leftover time when you get platnuim
And here I am proud of my score of 4780 on Tropical Forest in the deluxe demo.
There is a preset range to what scores the rankings are capable of showing, that doesn't mean all the scores on there are made up. But you also can't actually see any of the scores so who cares anyway.

To be honest, it kind of bummed me out how Whites and Purples are only in Mission Mode. They would've been great in the main game.

Meghan Serafino no, Koppai eats Fruit, but Hocotate eats Vegetables, which Koppaites can't stand. It was a clever idea for a comment, though.
I was trying to speedrun Forgotten Cove (DLC), and my best so far was to beat it with 1:50 remaining on the clock. But the world record listed on the rankings screen has way, way more score than I earnt from that. I can't seem to find a good Forgotten Cove run on the internet anywhere, so I'm just left befuddled at how someone could shave off so much time. This game doesn't seem to have much interest among speedrunning people, and the challenge maps seem to have even less interest than the main game. Oh well.
Not much interest amongst *which* speedrunners? Pikmin 3 has one of the most intense speedrunning communities on youtube I've ever seen. That's basically how I learned how to play the game. :) It'd be nice if it was more cohesively technical, with tutorials and theory being outlined at least a little bit. It's sometimes really hard to follow such fast videos! :)

Hey, i know i m a bit late but, you play with a mouse right ?
You know you've played too much of a game when you can aim and hit every mob in one shot even when they are not visible on camera yet. The most impressive thing is that these runs are 99.9% error free. I'd call action logger plus tweaks (seriously dude, don't spam whistle like that it makes it look like a bot), but it looks within the realm of human ability and I think it would be a bigger pita to create a logger sequence than to just train the human hind brain for it. Still, a lot must have been put into figuring out the exact optimal moves such as when to pluck and when to assign tasks in what order.
I want a documentary on how these people EVER DEVISE THIS STRATEGY and under what method of human psychology they operate. This is Rainman level compared to me.
I'm picturing the creation of a panoramic map big enough to write on, broken into zones and objectives (probably according to some route planning lingo) and some kind of sequencing notation (maybe with some broad brush strokes and some lines and arrows, backed up by a step-by-step list). Systematic thinking on multiple levels of abstraction, and an UTTERLY memorized map.
Or, Rainman.

What's wrong with purples? They aren't even as OP as an Pikmin 2.
a TRUE ranking system would show paraxade as #1 or close but 'unexpected' is not even considerable as a ranking system. That just shows that nintendo put in random scores and made estimates on what they thought the average player could do, and slapped 'global ranking' on it. Thats a load of bull shit

nancythao8620 in Collect the treasure and battle mode, the last 5 on the bottom row NEED to be purchased, excluding the FoF, which is free. You can buy them separately or together.
