Pikmin 3: 7-Day / Deathless Completion

- Hey guys! So Pikmin 3 came out like a week ago, it's a pretty awesome game; been playing it a lot. After I played through a couple times I decided to try beating the main story in 7 days, which is the lowest possible; a 7 day completion requires completing the main objective in each area in a single day. This is honestly easier than it sounds, since with a bit of planning you have far more time each day than you actually need, so I decided to also go for zero Pikmin deaths. This is the end product! For the most part I came up with all the routes myself, which was fun, but I also need to thank Greenalink for finding some of the glitches I used and Miles for coming up with a good chunk of the route I used on Day 5.
I'm hoping to make some more Pikmin 3 videos, thinking of doing some Challenge Mode stuff next and maybe doing an All Fruits run in 10 days soon. Enjoy, and make sure you leave a like if you enjoyed the video!

I would like in a Pikmin game to have an entire civilisation go to PNF 404 (I think this is the name of the Pikmin's planet) and try to live there. It could include lots of sidequests and stuff. And also, an action-adventure Pikmin spin-off game where you find lots of activities Pikmin do, and their species could have an arena like the Roman Coliseum where they fight and die if they're weaker and stuff like that, and you control a Pikmin that has the special power to change its form in other Pikmins after he absorbs them.

Getting fruit is actually completely irrelevant to finishing the game, it just gives you more time. My only goal was to beat the game so I only got the bare minimum amount of fruit I needed to survive.
Awesome run. There is something to be said about a game where you encounter alien life...and the whole game is about building a symbiotic relationship for mutual survival and well being. It's a nice, refreshing change from the 'aliens=enemies' constant you see in the vast majority of such games.

And you could argue that the enemies in the game are evil, they aren't.

Wraith. Plasm Wraith. Which I'm guessing is reference to the Water Wraith form Pikmin 2 which was basically the worst thing ever. I guess they're cousins or something.

I have watched this 99999 times and I'm going for my own ultimate speedrun on watching it. I still watch this periodically, and it is a pure joy. You are the ultimate, best, smoothest player of Pikmin 3 in your first week of the game, even compared to those who came in the following years. You have inspired me to do my own speedrun of one level. Anyway, Paraxade0 please please please please do your "enemies" run to complete the game. And as the next-level goal, could you please do a 100% of 100% run where you get all possible gettable items? Collect 100% fruit, creatures, and other items to just demolish the game. I don't know why everybody is stopping at 100% fruit, but this is the other 100%. You are the best and only you could do it.
I bow before your godliness, sir/madam. I'm past day 30 without having gotten all the fruit yet, and having only gotten to the Formidable Oak by day 27 or 28 (and over 100 deaths by this point), and yet you've done this AND a 10 day all fruit run? My god.

It's a dude. But hey, nothing wrong with enjoying the game even if it takes you longer than most :)
not to brag but im day 20 and im already at formidible oak spending 2 days to get all garden of hope fruit (going for the best ending). but i do agree woth you that this person is a god living among humans.
You are a wizard. This was fantastic! I love Pikmin so much! My friends and I just did a playthrough of the first game, but I think Pikmin 3 is definitely my favorite!

The idea of Brittany repeatedly throwing Alph at a Yellow Wollywog for no reason other than to pass the time is amazing to me.
jeez, you're really good and can throw the pikmin really fast. No matter how fast I hit the a button it doesn't get near this fast.

I know this is late but 100% in a week worth of in game days that would take an unprecedented of (1) retries and (2) ALL THE SKILL IN THE WORLD
I don't think it's possible to 100% in 7 days. You could do the Garden of Hope as you get 2 visits anyway, but you'd need to spend days revisiting the other areas to collect submerged fruit. Which is why I think in Pikmin 4, you should get all the Pikmin earlier like in the older games so you spend more time balancing the use of all the Pikmin

I think they will. Miyamoto thought Pikmin 3 was his best game ever, he obviously loves the series.
Pikmin 1 and 2 were both for GameCube, so hopefully Pikmin 4 will come sooner than we think :D

this guy is good... in my first palythrough of this game, i lost over 50 pikmin to the first boss... I should be ashamed of myself.
even one seed of fruit could bring up a food supply given time.
Rock pikmin are immune to the Plasm Wraith's skewer attack, making them extremely useful for no-death runs for the fight.
I didn't swear, pretty much expected that. It's actually very common for him to be left with a tiny sliver of health after the fourth cycle. It's possible to kill him by that point, but I'm not totally sure how.
for that, you need pink pikmin to attack him when he's in the air.
ack, I actually hadn't noticed that. Thanks for pointing that out, I'll make sure to fix in the future.

okay, here is the route i managed to get done with the most recent version of the game. it left me with 8 seconds on the clock. i started with 2 sprays and had the whole map uncovered by NG+; otherwise, this route might be impossible.
heres how i did it (with A, B and C being captains)
- take out 53 reds and 13 rocks
- make C glitch to the winged onion
- let B at the place from where you throw 3 rock pikmin over to C
- move A to the flying joustmite, kill it, and wait there
- get 10 winged pikmin as soon as possible and free the dam. then give 8 winged pikmin to B
- move B to A and have them go to the 2nd area
- during the following points, gather winged pikmin with C until you have 100 pikmin in the field; then place him just below the cardbox
- with A and B, use spray #1 to get full flowers with this group, kill the arachnorb, then throw 15 reds, 8 wingeds and A ontop of the ledge; have the rest tear down the dirt wall
- make B auto walk to the other side of the card box in area 1
- with A, get the first set of bridge pieces using REDS (winged will be eaten by the arachnorb)
- take the remaining 8 winged pikmin, kill the skeeterskate, and swarm the bridge pieces ontop of the tower thing
- with B, whistle C and move to the second area quickly; C and the rest of the winged pikmin should warp to you. use your second spray to get full flowers on the second group. kill the scornets, and grab the final set of bridge pieces.
- scornet maestro, giving the corpse to the winged pikmin for the following day

Alph eats on day 1 all of 1 day's juice but some day's later they all share one bottle...

You can't skip getting the blue onion. They stuck an invisible wall in front of the bridge pieces that doesn't go away until you pluck the first blue. :/
Nicely done! Someday soon I'll try and tackle a speedrun but for the time being I'm just going to take my time and enjoy the work of art that is Pikmin 3 :)
