Why do you need to buy a replacement gaskets? The issue with these gasket seals is the very much real formation of mildew/mold overtime. You can get rid of mildew with vinegar. Just leave your cap and gasket ring in vinegar for an hour then run them under hot water and bam. Mold and smell gone

I think the mildew still remains in microscopically if the gasket is too far gone, and can't even be reached by vinegar.

@@Jacob-yg7lz You should remove the gasket and clean it every few days of use. By 6 months or a year like most people do, it's much too far gone.
Also, nobody makes their own seals or o-rings, so all you need are the right size for your lid/cap.

You didn't even wait for the lid to dry before putting on the new gasket. Now mold can form in that nice moist environment you've secured

Hi Crystal - Good catch. Since this was a demonstration video, I needed to show that the gasket will fit and that water won't drip. Drying the gasket and cap is very important.

Would it matter if you're going to be drinking immediately? Or are you referring to the gap between the gasket and the plastic lid, which would stay sealed and dry, even when you turn the bottle upside down and cap and outside of gasket gets wet?

The gasket for the wide mouth lid is not as easy without that specific tool.

It is tricky. Anything small like a dental pick will also work as long as it's not a sharp edge. Note that if the cap itself is no longer air tight/water is sloshing around in it, you unfortunately have to drill out the center about an inch wide so you can get a cleaning tool in there and routinely clean the plastic there as well. The cap should be solid plastic but they stopped making them solid pieces years ago. A LOT of people get sick or have issues with aggravating their asthma due to how outrageously dirty their bottles get. The lid design on almost all of them are the same junk as well and not designed to be routinely cleaned, making it worse. I wholeheartedly recommend finding a flask that is designed to be completely cleaned and that doesn't have a hollow cap.
