I was really happy when I knew about him getting the chance to play with Lamb Of God. Not happy about Chris' departure from that band, but happy that Art got the recognition that he deserves

I think there’s a lot to be said for Art Cruz. And a lot to be said for Chris Adler. Chris chose Art to take his place. He knew what he was doing there.

@@DracheMusic so not sure if you ever got an answer but if not, I’m pretty sure Chris picked art to fill in for some tours when he had a bike accident and broke his collarbone (could be wrong)And then when Chris left they already hand his hand picked replacement filling in for them
This wasn’t the Band as a whole who made the decision? I had no idea that Chris had the option to choose who would be taking over his duties

Totally get what you're saying here. I think it's because Chris always played with such finesse and precision while art has always played with power and agression. But Chris chose art to replace him so he obviously has faith that he would do the drums justice. It's honestly taken me some time to get used to Chris being gone

You know what.. I’ve seen many drummers that can play fast and sound good.. but this guy, timing is perfect, every note is consistent and yea he makes it look easy, but fucking hell he has to be one of the best drummers

Incredible! That little 32nd note fill that switches to a one handed triplet six at 3:59 was straight up one of the sweetest fills I’ve ever seen. Lol Of course, I’m probably a little biased. I love LOG.

funny, was at the Killswitch show in LA, I met some dude in the quiet T-shirt line who was wearing a LOG shirt, I was wearing the same, we were just talking metal...and next you thing you know there is this guy making his way towards us coming up to us pretty quickly saying "those are the best shirts I've seen anybody wear all night" I said kneejerk,,,I know man, best band ever dude, --took me a minute to recognize who I was speaking to through all that hair...it was Art Cruz LOL, he was like yeah, I think so too haha--then he bought a t-shirt.

I love that his meinl cymbal set up is very close to Chris's set up. He keeps his performances as close to Chris's as possible. Chris always chose unique cymbals and his splash work is his signature. Art does a great job of replicating Chris's sound.

Art Cruz is a completely worthy drummer to replace Chris... This guy is a real drummer, super clean, technical and wild just like Chris, well done man.. I'm happy that LOG didn't lose the perspective of how important a good drummer is. Yes, it is a huge a pity to lose Chris Adler eternal admiration and love, but LOG must prevail :) best band ever

Ha! I'm no musician, are they supposed to dampen the sound? Deeper lows? You'd think a Ludwig sponsored video wouldn't need pillows in the drums.
@@yak6896 you put pillows in the bass drums to make it sound like a bass drum, rather than a basketball dribbling in an arena. The open bass drum sound is cool, but it's usually not practical. And when doing double bass stuff like this, the pillows are crucial, because you wouldn't be able to identify individual strokes, because it'd all bleed into one another
