Adler is an idol for me. But LoG didn't lose anything by getting Art. He's a perfect fit. As a Dream Theater fan from the early 90s, they are still making great music, but whether you're an MP fan or a MM fan, there's a huge difference that is definitely noticeable. With Art, it's just so much more organic. Kudos to LoG for picking such a great fitting piece to the sound of the band...

This is exactly how I felt as well. Sad to see Chris leave, but Art's playing in LoG blend's almost perfectly. When Slipknot picked up Jay, it was a very tough transition for me for that very reason. That's not to say that Jay isn't an awesome drummer -- to me the drums are a completely different feel/vibe from the past. The drums don't suck, but it ain't Joey! R.I.P. #1

Honestly Lamb of God getting art is like when Korn got ray,they still were able to keep the old sound and also be able to expand in a new tasteful way.

Think you didnt listen to old LOG or Korn in recent times , cause both David and Chris did amazing drum tracks and sounding original in them . Both Ray and Art are great but cant compete with what came before them when it comes from sounding unique and fresh .
I definitely have listened to newer Korn songs and some new lamb of god to be honest. Yes obviously David and Chris had their sound and it's not the same when ray or art play it but given how good a fit they're it's like comparing apples and oranges.
I totally agree. Art often places signature Chris' splash plays as much as possible to keep the classic LoG sound IMO. I have been listening to LoG's last 2 albums as much as their previous albums.
@@JayCord00 That's crazy! Art is an absolute beast! Him joining the band was the best thing to happen to LOG. At 50 yrs Ive seen every one of these drummers more than once and I'll tell you Art is every bit as good as Adler.

hell yeah. Ludwig toms with pinstripes or equivalent are so clean and punchy
The ones he's using are the Ludwig Classic Oak, more attack than the Classic Maple, which is perfect for metal

Damn, I love this dude, apart from his magic tricks on the street, his playstyle quoting chris adler from time to time, but a very unique presentation overall.
The drum tone sounds better here than on the album. Especially the snare.
3:02 is my favorite part of this song. That quick blast into the double kick is so neck-breaking. Love it!

Been following Art since his time in Winds Of Plague, then Prong. Couldn't imagine someone else as solid, hard hitting, and passionate about drumming taking the reigns since Adler's departure. Please post more videos!

Adler was always overrated imo.
Excellent performance. Sad thing is that it's really difficult to replace a musician who was so iconic in band's history. Jay Weinberg and Ray Luzier went through the same thing. So sad that people will never stop comparing them with the former musicians. Maybe it's me but I think drummers come after the lead singers in importance.
Agree with most of your comment. However I disagree about importance. All members are equally responsible for a bands sound. I do think art is an amazing fit for LoG. Jay definitely kills it with slipknot! May Joey RIP! And MM is a decent replacement for Portnoy in dream theater. Here’s the kicker tho. Who could ever replace Danny Carey in tool? God forbid it ever needs to be addressed!!! But can you name someone?

Chris is an awesome drummer but this guys style and sound seems to have really evolved the band and broke them out of their shell.

That’s what these cymbals are made for. Quick sound drop off for faster playing. Versus something like what Zack Graybeal plays is meant for long,drawn out resonance
I love how control he is now in their new songs. It's speaks volumes on how much his style of playing has morphed but it would be cool to see him put more style into the LoG new songs. He is ready to finally do that. Crazy he learned so fast. Amazing drummer.
This is unbelievable.. can you just imagine what it feels like having this on a small stage with you. I've been a fan for a long time but now many of my friends are. They don't understand until they feel it. And it's fuckin awesome!!! Thank you all for what you're doing! It's a huge help to people like me trying to make sense of some things and an inspiration to everyone! 5 yrs sober now and you've all helped more than you know! Ok just my quick two cents, cause I watch this video at least 5x’s a week lol. Chris is the foundation of LOG’s drum style and he definitely played with more swing and maybe a little more finesse. But Art is the perfect replacement (kind of like Jay Weinberg in Slipknot) because he definitely hits harder and with exact precision. I go back and forth watching Chris’s “Hour Glass” and “Now You Got Something To Die For” drum clinic performance, with Willie Adler. Ultimately I say Chris. But it’s like one iota over Art, if at all. 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾

Art Cruz is probably a faster and tighter drummer but that doesn't make him a better drummer than Chris Adler. Chris Adler plays what ever the music needs, nothing more nothing less combined with fills and drumparts that are iconic. That's why he will always be considered as one off the greats.

The drums just don't sound right. But I still love Lamb Of God. It's just personal preference that I like the way Chris was able to get his drums dialed in. I also prefer how Chris plays. Art seems like a cool, humble guy! I am very happy he's got his role in the band! Wishing him continued success!

Hadnt checked out anything new by LoG since maybe 2016 (or earlier), and I hate to be a party pooper, but apart from the fact both Art and the band as a whole are a group of tight performers, honestly the song itself is one I wold skip after my first listen through, had it been released on "AotW". The composition, the riffs, everything... I mean, Lars would probably call it "stock" when it comes to LoG, and I would agree.

It's gonna be a sad day when lamb of god hangs up the towel. They are so good. Every album they put out is pure fire.
Lamb of god, I like them a lot. But in the last 3 álbums all songs seem like if the same riffs in every album are being used. Good songs with a lot of power and stuff.. But they havent made any memorable one jet. Cause they all sound similar
I'm against the grain and state that the sound is generic. He's very talented for sure, but this mid tempo chug chug just doesn't do it for me. I'll stick with my nostalgia.
Forgive me, I still idolize Adler, the technique of playing the drums is in him 🙏

I like how 0:59 ish the cymbals slow down, then speeds back up with the hi hats, into a small break, and back to the slow cymbal breakdown. Good way to bring back the slow breakdown. Excellent writing. Layers to the song.
