I get a ton of compliments when I wear the Australian Gold by itself - I’m always asked how I get my skin so smooth. It is definitely the best bang for your buck since you get 3 oz of product.
UGH this is by far my favorite formulation that I've ever tried, but it's simply too orange on my skin (I'm fair-skinned but have rosacea, so my goal is always to find a tinted mineral sunscreen that evens out my skin tone). It's the only one that gives a mattifying finish and also blurs my gigantic pores. I really hope they expand their tint range.
I love it also, use it as my base product. If the tone is wrong, try mixing it with a blue concealer or mix in. LA girl makes colored mixins that are inexpensive that help to change the tone and the blue will make it cooler toned!
I really love your hair cut. Around four years ago I chopped off my bra-strap length hair to a layered just-to-the-shoulders look. I CANNOT impress on you the difference this made to me in my life. It def took off ten years (like they always say;-). I like us "hot-flashers" to be free to wear longer hair if it makes us feel better. I didn't intend to chop off five inches that day when I went in for a blow-dry, but I am so grateful to that brave hairdresser--who has become a good friend--that I veered away from my lifetime long hair wearing self...
I have gone on my sunscreen journey at 50 because of you and Dr Dray. Started with Australian Gold and loved the feel and finish until it started to dry out my skin. Next I tried Cerave Tinted, Elta MD Elements and Restore. Cerave was a bit heavy and Elta Restore was a too emollient feeling. Elta Elements felt better but had a slight drying effect. Everything changed when I learned about Undefined R&R. That sunscreen works the best for my uber sensitive skin. It does look shiny when first applied but never feels heavy. Since I only spot cover certain areas with concealer that sunscreen works as my base. I add a bit of powder here and there and I am left with a healthy glow. Their customer service is also stellar. Thank you for being a sunscreen ambassador.
I started using Australian Gold after you recommended it last year. I have combo skin and liked that it kept the oily parts matte without being too dry elsewhere. Right now I am liking Ilia and then using the powder you recommended: Tarte Amazonian Clay Blurring Powder. Your hair, as always, looks beautiful. At 68, I just started the process of letting my formerly natural dark blonde go white....and OMG, it is a process.
Congrat’s! I stopped the three-color, hi-lo lights about four years ago and am actually disappointed I am not more silver! There’s quite a bit around front, but not so much in back. Anyway, overall, I am very happy I did it. Having multiple colors AND curly hair were both helpful in camouflaging the “demarcation line.” The confidence being authentic brings is amazing!
I’m 58 and went thru that process for a year and a half. Ultimately,it was well worth it for me. I have an awesome curly salt and pepper mane with a nice white “money piece” by my face. I get compliments on my hair all the time again. It took a lot of patience.
As someone who went through Mohs surgery to remove Basel cell off my forehead last year, I am now a fanatic about sunscreen. I love these videos for some variety as I like to mix things up. Thank you!
For those that find the Elta MD Elements too dark, I have been using the Elta MD Physical and it is a tad lighter intent and works well with my fair skin.
Australian Gold is my go-to for summer months, as it keeps oil under control and I don't need any foundation. Glad to have discovered in on Angie's channel! Trying out a new Korean sunscreen, Pyunkang Yul, SPF50 ++++. It's a chemical/physical hybrid which goes on white then blends in. Good so far.
Hi Angie! I had a basil/squamus skin cancer on my face in 2016. It was damage that the doctor said was from waaaayyyy back when I was a sun goddess. I haven't been a sun worshiper since i was 29 years old. I'm 57 and have been so careful since age 29. Low and behold, a skin cancer appeared on my face. I was devastated and had to go to a MOE's surgeon to have it removed! Just awful. It took almost a full year for that scar and area to heal and look normal again. It looks great now and I was recommended to use the Elta MD and I love it! Having listened to you compare sunscreens is fantastic and I now love the R & R as well! I switch off on both of them. Thank you for all your information and seriousness about protecting your skin from the sun's damaging rays, no matter what age your audience is. It's super important and I only wish I had the knowledge, like you, when I was a young girl growing up! Love you! XO
You explained exactly why I love the Isntree sunscreen! I tried it after seeing one of your videos and it's turned out to be the only sunscreen I've ever used consistently because I can't stand the "smothering" feel of the other ones. My dermatologist and I thank you :)
My favourite topic! I try to be vocal to all my family and friends about SUNSCREEN! DO IT! R&R has been my GO-TO since you first introduced it! Fabulous and works so well under makeup! I hike and backpack and it WORKS!
Beauty of Joseon is hands down my favorite sunscreen. My skin leans oily in the spring and summer. This doesn’t cause breakouts and is the perfect amount of moisture layered over vitamin c cream🎉
Meant vitamin c serum. Cost is famtatic. Sunscreen is the one skincare product we all need much more of than we would think so it’s important to have an affordable sunscreen.
I've taken to just using my Australian Gold in lieu of a foundation (once and a while I'll dust with a little powder). Fabulous vid, as always, but I'd love to see an updated one on body sunscreens...the last one was 4 years ago or so! (Obviously, since you use so much more, price point is even more important!)
I picked up some Dr. Jart+, beauty barrier balm 45++++, when I was going through Korea and it was tinted Medium, but it was a little light. I mixed it with a tinted Super Goop, and it is become my holy Grail. I don’t need foundation, and there is no white cast at all. You can’t buy the particular Dr Jart+in the states yet, but when they do, run, don’t walk, to get it!
I use the CeraVe as a first layer, then mix the Australian gold with Physicians Formula BB cream (approx 3:1 ratio AG to PF) and I find that it’s the perfect balance. I do find the AG a bit drying, but mixing those 2 creates a beautiful finish on my skin. Plus all three of those have SPF, so I feel well covered for the day.
The hair cut is so attractive! In the past few years, some of your subscribers strongly opposed suggestions to try a shorter hair length. They assumed that any suggestion for a shorter hair length was related to age. Can we look beyond the age factor? An individual’s face shape is still a key factor, right? A few subscribers were giving Angie their honest opinions. I agree with them as I compare this video with a recent fashion video.
My favorite right now is Skin Aqua! It was my first Asian sunscreen and is so much better than any American sunscreen I’ve used. I doubt I will buy any American ones after trying this. It is just flawless and completely invisible on the skin. Doesn’t run into my eyes with sweating.
I will buy it based on your recommendation. It is very hard to find a good sunscreen. On Amazon it is called a lotion but with SPF 50 and PA++++ rating. (Skin Aqua Super Moisture Gel pump (SPF50 + PA ++++) 140g . Thank you!
@LK that’s the one! I may never need another sunscreen again. It is more of a liquid milk texture but rubs in beautifully. Ive never used another sunscreen like it. It dries down pretty fast and doesn’t feel like anything is on your skin at all.
@@Joannabanana1989 do you know if they have a smaller size for travel? I purchased one from trader’s Joe based on Dr Dray review and very happy with it. It is SPF 40. But if this Japanese one will be great I would like to buy a smaller size to take it with me when I travel.
This is my favorite one too. It's not greasy AT.ALL and that is huge for me as I have oily skin. It comes in all sizes and it fully dries down. Love it!!
My favorite came from your recommendation! The Australian Gold is my absolute favorite for summer! We show horses and I can trust that it’s not melting off in the heat and I use it as my foundation as well! I’m loving the Beauty of Joseon for winter since it’s not water resistant. I also have the Elta MD in my arsenal too!
Love these recommendations! I heard many years ago from a well respected dermatologist, Dr. Leslie Baumann… That if you are going to be in the sun all day, put on your favorite chemical sunscreen and then top it with your favorite mineral sunscreen and it’s like having metal on your skin. The rays that might get through the physical sunscreen, will be absorbed by the Chemical sunscreen
You should rent read up on chemical sunscreens and how TOXIC they are to the skin. Not to mention they are KILLING our coral reefs in our oceans. Honestly, I cannot believe that enviornmentalist groups aren't shouting this from the rooftops!!!
I use the Elta MD UV Elements sunscreen because it was recommended by my dermatologist’s office. I like it and often I’ll use the tinted sunscreen with some concealer and setting powder, skipping the foundation step completely. I just wish I had been more diligent years ago with applying my sunscreen! I’m glad you frequently stress the importance of using it!
My holy grail was previously the Hada Labo UV white gel. But it’s been replaced by the Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel. I have normal to dry skin, and I love this under matte foundations. Brings the glow back! 🙌🏼 Honestly, all Asian sunscreens are the best imo. They apply so elegantly in comparison to U.S. sunscreens. Not greasy…better UV filters…just so so good! America needs to get with the program.
Same here! I have a huge arsenal of sunscreens, mostly Asian, and Hada Labo was my Holy Grail until being replaced last year by the Isntree! So very similar, but squeezing out of a tube is so much easier than opening the lid to a jar, lol. Even though I am not so lazy that I will skip sunscreen, I’m still lazy.
Love the Australian Gold & also get compliments on my skin when wearing. I love the fair to light choice as many brands have too dark a tint. I discovered Australian Gold through you & every word you spoke of it is true. Most days I wear it alone & no foundation is needed. Great product!
For anyone who needs a sunscreen that can survive sweat... I work outdoors, and the only sunscreen I've ever tried (including several of these) that doesn't run into my eyes is SolRX. It was formulated for triathletes, so it has fantastic staying power against sweat & rubbing. I slather it on, pack my lunch cooler, blot the shine with a tissue, and apply my makeup. It doesn't play well with all makeup, but I'll work around that to keep my eyes from burning & stinging all summer. Note: It behaves like an occlusive layer, so it can make strong actives applied under it act stronger. I adjust the amount of the active that I apply.
I never see anyone talk about the Tizo3 primer sunscreen. It’s the only one I’ve tried that doesn’t feel sticky, doesn’t break me out and works well under makeup!
I actually do 2 layers of sunscreen to make sure I’m getting the best coverage. My first layer is the Olay Regenerist either Microsculpting or Whip (no preference, I like both)- I start with this bc I can put it on my eyelids and it doesn’t irritate. My 2nd layer is the DRMTLGY tinted. These play well under my makeup (L’Oreal True Match Nude) and have not caused any irritation or breakouts. I don’t have super sensitive skin though. When my DRMTLGY runs out I want to try the R&R though! I want something with the PA++++ rating!
I just started using the DRMTLGY and it’s the best I’ve used so far. I think it’s the hybrid chemical/mineral combo that works for me. I tried getting through a whole bottle of the R & R, just too greasy on my skin, which was surprising, as I consider my skin to be very dry. Everyone’s skin is so different, it’s good we have choices!
I have pretty dry skin, and I used to only wear mineral sunscreens because the US-approved chemical ones cause me burning and eye-irritation. then I tried both of the Korean sunscreens featured in this video, and I love them both. I slightly prefer the Beauty of Joseon (in Korean, it’s pronounced something like “CHO-sun”), because my skin likes the rice-derived compound in it, but I read that some people can have issues with that. Anyway, great video, Angie -thanks for including choices for a variety of your viewers’ preferences.
I'm surprised MyChelle isn't on the list, that was another winner of yours. Still my favorite for summer, with 3 different tint levels, I always have a match.
I picked up the Australian Gold sunscreens based on your recommendation and seeing others rav about it. And I love them! I use the tinted SPF 50 for my face and the non tinted SPF 70 for my arms/body. I have fairly dry skin and I don't find them drying over my moisturizer. They both have a PA++++ rating, by the way.
Angie! I also LOVE the r&r…when it’s good, it’s SO good. But now that I’ve been using for years and have gone through a number of bottles, it does have this separation issue in every other bottle. I’m back here with your spot-on analysis looking for an alt, but hoping you have the skinny on what’s up with R&R. I don’t want to let it go! I appreciate you!
I love the Paula’s choice Defense Essential Glow SPF 30. It’s my holy grail as it leaves a subtle glow has good skincare ingredients for my skin. It also works well as a primer but it’s barely tinted so I have to use it under makeup. Love!
You are glowing!! Loving the new hair 😊 You are the reason why I started wearing sunscreen three years ago. I put it on daily now after years of baking in the sun!! I’ll be forever grateful
I really like the Neutrogena mineral tint sunscreens (i mix the light and medium together)and the new Kroger shimmer chemical sunscreen. I wore the Undefined R & R sunscreen in the South’s humidity and it ran down my face and stained my shirt. Love your videos Angie!
I looked on your blog list of sunscreens and didn’t see the Supergoop matte screen. I love this with and without makeup. It doesn’t leave a white cast, doesn’t give much coverage but does blur my pores. I’d be interested to see you test this one out!
I'm a HUGE sunscreen gal! I have vitiligo (white spots) as well as a pesky sun allergy that presents as tiny blisters and red dots. I get pimples easily, and many screens sting!😅 My face favourites are Round Lab Birch Juice Sun Cream and Beauty of Joseon. Both are spf 50 pa++++. The Australian Gold truly is amazing for blurring pores and shine - I use it on my nose and forehead like makeup! But otherwise it is too drying on the rest of my face. For my body, the Eucerin Sun Allergy Protect is phenomenal! I've yet to try it on my face, because my Korean sunscreens have great filters that also calm my sun allergy. Ideally, Round Lab or Joseon would just make a huge bottle with pump for all-over face and body! It would probably be terribly expensive, but just IMAGINE.😌 One can dream!
I moved to FL 2 yrs ago so now get lots of sun and in my 60s! Never was a sunscreen person. Tried several sunscreens and the R&R is a winner for me. I do not wear face makeup so the tint is just enough to even out my light skin tone. If my nose is too shiny, I just dab a bit of powder. I now wear it everyday because it looks good.
My dermatologist said the new recommendation is ONE FULL TEASPOON for face and neck. I hate to be disrespectful towards her and argue about it, but holy cow. I can’t possibly put that much on my face and reapply as instructed. I wonder if she misjudged and it’s supposed to be 1 teaspoon for the body, additional for face/neck. I am so glad to hear you only use 1/4 teaspoon!
My favorite is the Trader Joe's that is supposed to be a dupe for the Super Goop Unseen, I think it is. It does have a slight weird smell at first, but it goes away right away. I love that it isn't greasy so when I'm hiking I don't feel like more and more dirt is getting stuck on my face.
One of my holy grails is the Skin Ceuticals Physical Fusion UV Defense Sunscreen SPF 50 All mineral, tinted and does a beautiful job....works with makeup perfectly. I like it far better than the R&R. Give it a try and review! All the Best....
Angie... this afternoon I received an email from Undefined featuring the R&R Sun Serum and was surprised to see a clip from your video. Congrats on your new celebrity.
Angie, thanks so much for these recommendations. I used to be a sun worshiper too and even worse, I laid in those death beds (tanning beds) in my early twenties!! I would always try to keep my face covered but that is not the same as wearing sunscreen. Thanks to you and a few other of my favorite creators, I have been wearing sunscreen religiously every day for over a year now. I will be eternally grateful to all of you! My current favorites are the DRMTLGY Tinted SPF 46, DRMTLGY Physical Tinted SPF 44 and one that is new to me that I’ve been loving is the Elf Holy Hydration Face Cream SPF 30. I have normal to dry skin. Also, I have been loving Aveeno Protect+ Hydrate SPF60 for the body as well as the face!!! Since I now religiously wear sunscreen every day, I am ready to go to the next level of anti-aging by starting Tretinoin!! I just received my first month of Agency that I ordered from your recommendation and I used your link (of course). I am so excited and also a little nervous 😬 to be honest, but I will be trying my Future Formula for the first time this evening. Here’s to hoping that I have very little irritation🙏🏻🤞🏼 Thanks so much for all of the informative and educational videos!!! 😊 You are such an inspiration to sooo many of us!
After trying many sunscreens, the Beauty of Joseon is my fave ! For a body sunscreen I use Banana Boat Light as Air SPF 50 & Bondi Sands SPF 50. Happy Easter Everyone ! 🌺🌸💐
The Undefined R&R Sun Serum is also my holy grail! One of the few I've tried that makes my skin look better than it is and also does NOT burn & sting my very sensitive skin. Love it!
Angie, can you please do a video on how you handled any sun spots/sun damage on your face? Any procedures that can be done through a derm that actually works? Thanks!
I look forward to your sunscreen roundup every year Angie! I started watching your videos maybe 8 or 9 years ago, and have been wearing SPF 50 sunscreens every single day since then. So a huge thanks from me and my skin! ❤️🌷😊
Love your recommendations, Angie! I am using the undefined sunscreen and I think it’s great. But there’s another sunscreen that I found that I really like and it is klairs all day airy sunscreen, SPF, 50+ PA ++++. Just wanted to share that I feel like it elevates my skin care routine and my skin actually looks great when I use it. It is untinted though. Thanks again.
Asian sunscreens are so far advanced over the ones in the U.S. They are lighter, adapt easier to serums and makeup and contain advanced chemical blocks that don't cause the irritation that American formulations can. Dermatologists are big fans as well. I only wear Asian sunscreens now. I don't have to deal with the grease factor or wait 20 to 30 minutes for absorption. Plus, almost all are SPF 50 or higher. I also have the Klairs and Sun Aqua, Joseon, and the new Purito formula, which is awesome too and on hot, humid days can suffice as a moisturizer.
I've been wearing the Paula's Choice 30 SPF mineral sunscreen for two or three years. I decided to try the Beauty of Joseon 50 SPF and just got it in and started wearing it this week. So far, I'm really liking it. I haven't noticed being any more glowy than I usually am (and I'm a seriously oily girl) and I like that it's a chemical sunscreen but manages to NOT burn my eyes, which is why I was wearing mineral sunscreen to begin with.
I love the Australian gold, however I tried the R&R omg I’m not sure if I got a bad one but it was so greasy and shiny and never dried down. I have drier skin so there is no way my face was oily, I wanted so much based on Angie’s recommendation to love it.
I really love the Beauty of Joeson so much for the cooler months. It actually soothes my skin, which the opposite of what most sunscreens do! It feels like a soothing moisturizer. However, I don't use it in warmer months because I live where it is very hot and humid and I sweat it off and need a water resistant one. Right now I'm loving the new Neutrogena mineral tints one in light, which suits my super pale skin, and it's water resistant with silicone, which is what I need for the warmer months. It's the first American sunscreen I can use consisitently.
The Heliocare 360 A-R Emulsion SPF50+ is also very nice for lighter skin tones, it uses mineral filters and Tinosorb A2B, inititally very shiny, however it dries down to a very nice finish. The Beauty of Joseon is way too glowy and shiny for me, don't completely understand why it is so popular, I prefer something like Eucerin Oil Control. SVR Sun Secure Extreme is also very nice and matte, only the newer modern filters, and literally invisible on skin, unfortunately it has a fragrance which I don't like. Australian Gold has a nice finish, a nice blurring effect, but looking up close, at the recommended amount, it does settle in fine lines and pores, and feels quite drying and bc it's so matte in accentuates fine lines for me. Some of the "all mineral" sunscreens you mentioned do contain the chemical uv filter Butyloctyl Salicylate btw.
Thanks Angie for all your recommendations! LOVE LOVE LOVE your channel!!!! ❤️ I’ve been using Cerave AM Moisturizer Lotion SPF 30 for 15 years! I’m a living proof of how great is it! No Botox, no fillers. I’m 51 years old and my dermatologist back then told me: “ You need to use this Forever!”. I always stay away from the sun and use daily my Cerave moisturizer/sunscreen. Thanks and Hugs from TX! 🥰🥰🥰
Hi Angie, I live in Germany and I love the Cerave Facial Moisturizing Lotion, it comes in SPF 50 which is great, no perfume and includes ceramides, niacinamid and Vitamin E. It also leaves a glowy skin.
Was waiting for this! Great, thanks! Angie, could you consider a short one on ingredients that can be problematic in sunscreen (or even skincare)? Obviously, that would be a broad subject and everyone reacts differently, but it does seem as though certain ingredients come up quite regularly and it would be great to know what to look out for and why. Thanks so much
Yes! Please do a video on this subject Angie! Especially ingredients that are prone to cause milia under the eyes! I had that happen w/ an eye cream & I was completely Distraught with this happened, & especially before an upcoming family event!!! 😱 Also please consider doing a video on skincare ingredients that should NOT be combined. Often when I see some bad reviews of products that also have Many excellent reviews, I think that the people might have combined other products along with the product they are giving a Bad review on, & they're getting a skin reaction because of ingredients that aren't meant to be used together.
I also have a wardrobe of sunscreens but my favorite is the B & B. I just finished up the Elta MD one and I cut the tube because I know there was still a lot of product inside and I was amazed how much was left inside. If it’s a tube and I can cut it I usually do because I want it all! LOL I also look forward to your sunscreen review as I usually discover a new one that works great. Thanks 😊
I just ordered the R&R and elta MD ones. The R&R should be here today and I'm super excited to try it. I got the elta MD one for like $11 on the Walmart link you shared ...thank you
I have fallen in love with the Beauty of Joesen sunscreen and think it wears well under makeup. I also like Kinship Self Reflect. As always, thanks for the reviews!
The Isintree is my favorite. I buy it in bulk. I have a terrible reaction to most chemical sunscreens and mineral tinted sunscreens are too heavy and thick feeling on my face. I have tried the R&R and don’t like the thickness of it compared to the Isintree, but it is my number 2 favorite. I worry a bit that the Korean sunscreens aren’t actually as high in SPF as they say they are since they are not checked by the FDA, but for the lightness of how they feel, I am risking it. Klairs is the Korean brand that got in trouble for claiming that their sunscreen had a high SPF and it was actually significantly lower, so they pulled it off the shelves and have since (I believe) tried to rebrand it and market sunscreen again. I wish the FDA would test Korean sunscreens since they are sold in the US…
I'm surprised DRMTLGY spf 46 tinted universal Moisturizing sunscreen didn't make it on your list. I absolutely love using it alone for a light "foundation" coverage but knowing I'm covered in SPF 46 (I even use 3 pumps and this stuff lasts a long time) I've rarely ran out of a product in my lifetime and repurchased. So the fact I have with this one speaks volumes!
I am surprised too!!! I like the DRMTLGY tinted universal sunscreen better than the Elta MD, which I’m currently using. I will go back to the DRMTLGY when I use up the Elta MD!
it BURNS my eyes. I also don’t like how dewy it is on its own and it doesn’t sit well under makeup for me which is needed since it is definately the wrong color for me. Glad it works for y’all but I get why its not more popular
I have started using Colorscience Sunforgettable Protection Face Shield Flex, UVA UVB Pollution, Blue light IR Tone adapting, buildable coverage, Natural Finish 50 SPF All mineral Love it ❤
I wonder if you could talk about “reef safe” sometime and exactly which sunscreens fall into that category. There is a lot of conflicting information out on the web. Love your content! 🥰
I think all, if not most chemical sunscreens cause coral reef destruction. However, maybe there are some newer one's that don't cause that...but not sure, as I stopped using chemical sunscreens decades ago. I Hope Angie will address this issue, as it's incredibly important for the sake of our oceans!!!
Target and Ulta run sales (just had one) and I purchased the Undefined R and R sunscreen half off. I have mature, dry skin and am very very pale, so if anyone's worried the tint on it is too dark, it does sort of dissipate and I'm able to wear it just fine. It's "oily" feeling as you rub it in, but not greasy - hard to explain. I'm on the fence with it because I think this texture is not for me and I prefer the creamier ones like the Elta MD UV elements.
Thank you for this informative video. I am 53 and have been postmenopausal for 6 years, and my skin continues to become more and more sensitive and dry! The R&R and Elta UV Elements are the only two sunscreens that my facial skin can tolerate. I also like the Elta MD UV Lip Balm (spf 36); it's soothing and hydrating and seems to retain a protective film on my lips, rather than evaporating, which I appreciate. Have a beautiful Easter weekend, Angie. ❤
My dermatologist recommended decades ago all Cera Ve products. Not only because they are excellent but because they are affordable. I did add Lancôme Renergie HCF triple serum this year. It’s awesome
Agree with most of these! One more to add, Elizavecca Milky Piggy SPF 50+ PA+++ is a fantastic sunscreen stick. My daughter hates wearing sunscreen on her face and will use this one with no complaints. It's fragrance free, very smooth, and doesn't sting her eyes. I like keeping one in my purse for touch ups and back of hands application.
Hi Angie, have been using EltaMD for years after your recommendation. Love it, Thankyou. Have just found a top up sunscreen which I can definitely recommend. The brand is Quick Screen. It’s a spf50 spray that goes on-top of a full face of makeup and does not disturb the look. Very happy with results.
I use the Elta MD every day and I put it over the LaRoche Posay AOX antioxidant SPF 50 serum....I am outdoors for 3 to 4 hours at a time and get great protection from this combo.
I have super dry skin. Undefined R&R looks so good on my skin when I put it on but unfortunately it is very drying. I'm now using Beauty of Joseon and my skin feels much better-no irritation (I usually have slight irritation when using chemical sunscreens). But it does have very illumines finish as Angie pointed out. It goes well with matter foundation.
Both of the Korean sunscreen brands. Also have a stick version of those products. I use the beauty by Joseon Matcha matte stick for touchups over my makeup. It’s great. Not overly matte and it does not remove my make up either. The other one I know is also very highly rated.
I use the Australian Gold sunscreen and mix the light and medium together. Perfect color for me. I also use Supergoop chemical sunscreen on days when I wear makeup. The primer built in is great and makes your skin look flawless. It has a velvety finish. A bit more pricey but worth it.
I love the Neova Silc Sheer 2.0 - it's peachy undertone is perfect for my pale skin. The PCA Sheer Tint 45 is also nice - a little darker but would work well in the summer.
Thanks Angie! The Korean sunscreens are my favorite!! They don’t feel or smell like sunscreen and are so thin they do not add any texture to my face. ❤
I like this SKIN1004 - Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum SPF50 PA++++. I can't wear American chemical sunscreens. Mineral sunscreens are okay on a cool day, but on hot days they seem to prevent sweat from evaporating (which I find quite irritating to my skin.). I am currently trying the Skin Aqua for hot days.
Thanks Angie! You always give The BEST review of sunscreens, bar none!!! Whomever you are going to now for your hair, is Top Notch! Your colorist skills are A+++. And your hair cut makes you hair look thicker, & the shorter, (yet still long enough) makes your face look more youthful, imo. Could you please share what product & shade she/he is using on your hair? I want those Exact highlights! And I have a hair appointment Next week...so I am praying that somehow you see this comment!!!
I have used a few of the sunscreens you recommended. I have dry skin and I tend to like the glowy , creamy sunscreens. I liked Australian gold but sometimes it felt too drying for me. The Elta MD elements is too dark for me , but there is another elta MD physical that matches me perfectly. I also have Beauty of Josien and I love it . I like everything about it. I also tried the Dr. G and I like it , but not as much as Beauty of Josien. Undefined is in the mail, I can’t wait to get it! ❤
Hands down, it's Australian Gold. I have normal to dry skin and I wear this year-round with no dryness issues. It does the job of a primer and it really holds on to make up throughout the day.
Neutrogena mineral UV-Tint face liquid vitamin E 30. It’s a light weight powerful tinted sunscreen. I am a cyclist and it can take the beating of a long ride on a hot day. It has the added bonus of reducing the darkness under my eyes. A drug store purchase. LOVE IT!
Australian Gold was my holy grail for a few years on your recommendation, but my skin became more dry with menopause. I moved to Drmtology Universal tinted sunscreen. It’s a bit spendy. I just bought the Babo to try out. I also gave Cetaphil Sheer Mineral for face, but it’s a bit white and I’m pretty pale.
I have tried all of these except the Isntree and Beauty of Joseon which will be next. My favorite is a combo of Dr. G topped off with the Elta MD. The Elta is a little dark for my skin tone, and the Dr G is not quite hydrating enough on its own, but together, they are the perfect finish and color. Hydrating but smoothing to the pores and not overly dewy. Still looking for the one perfect sunscreen that meets every requirement on its own, but I’ve found great options thanks to you, Angie.
Another RUclips creator, @MadAboutSkin created a sunscreen, it’s chemical, and it’s the best sunscreen I’ve ever used. It goes on like light moisturizer, not matte, not shiny, just perfect. The only one I love !!! Highly recommend ❤
My favorite tinted sunscreen is from Ilia Beauty. It had niacinamide and other moisturizing ingredients and so many shades! Their whole line is great for older dry skin, but also more expensive.
I love your sunscreen videos! They’re always so helpful. I use the Australian Gold, the R & R and the Elta MD, all because of your recommendations and love them all! Also, your hair looks great at this length!! Looks so thick and full of volume!❤😊
I get a ton of compliments when I wear the Australian Gold by itself - I’m always asked how I get my skin so smooth. It is definitely the best bang for your buck since you get 3 oz of product.
It's so smoothing!!
That was when I realised it was pretty good, when I started getting compliments :P
@@airamsipuola5045 Rosalique 3 in 1 spf50 is exactly this, made especially for rosacea but good if you're just a bit red
I always wear gloves and people think I'm crazy in the summer but it's the best way to protect your hands
I LOVE your haircut! ❤️❤️❤️
I did the same 2 years ago. I LOVE being a silver sister. Freedom and healthy hair to you!!
I did the same thing right before covid struck! Now that it's grown out without the line of demarcation, I love my long silver hair!
Thank you!
My husband is having that same surgery for his nose. Hope you had a good outcome!
@@AsianPoshDorene yes all went well as I’m sure it will be the same for your husband ❤️
For those that find the Elta MD Elements too dark, I have been using the Elta MD Physical and it is a tad lighter intent and works well with my fair skin.
Thanks! Is it a similar finish?
@@embeth446 I find it to be a little less shiny.
I agree. The tint is beautiful in the UV Physical. Such a pretty finish, too.
+1 for Elta MD physical. It's great. A good value for the amount you get
Same here! That EltaMD elements is way too dark for me but the Physical is great for my super fair skin and better price per ounce!
That's awesome!!
I love the way you talk, so calm and collected. The info and user experience really appreciated. Thanks!
I look forward to these videos every year. Truly the most wonderful time of the year!!
I use the Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence
SO AMAZING
invisible sunscreens are to die for!
I ride too and sweat a lot thanks for your recommendation
@@janebranch5068 That with some setting powder and you’re ready to go! I also wear it at the beach on vacation and use on my kiddos as well!
Do I need to apply moisturizer before?
@@adrianaguzman6964 Yes - apply moisturizer before you apply the sunscreen.
Thank you for sharing. Where do you buy the Isntree watery sun gel? I read that the Amazon product is fake.
@@logicalblueberry I bought mine on Stylevana.
So happy you have your sunscreen routine down!
That's what I do. I call it my "sunscreen sandwich"😉😜
I use 2 layers too. It works really well.
@@MQS11 that’s awesome! I’m totally gonna call it that now 😂
I just started using the DRMTLGY and it’s the best I’ve used so far. I think it’s the hybrid chemical/mineral combo that works for me. I tried getting through a whole bottle of the R & R, just too greasy on my skin, which was surprising, as I consider my skin to be very dry. Everyone’s skin is so different, it’s good we have choices!
My top 2 are Innisfree it’s so good under makeup and Alastin tinted sunscreen. It’s so pretty on!!
I’ve been using the Isntree for over a year. It feels best on my skin, doesn’t feel like a heavy layer of goop on my face.
I have been happy with Elta MD 44 tinted and I have not felt the need to explore others.
I get pimples easily, and many screens sting!😅
My face favourites are Round Lab Birch Juice Sun Cream and Beauty of Joseon.
Your hair cut makes look even younger than before. Look great Angie.
My holy grail is the R&R! Love it! Thanks Angie!
I discovered beauty of joseon spf 50 and I already have three backups 😂. I'm never going back..
I see your three back-ups and raise you another three to have on hand to give as gifts, lol
Thank you for all the amazing information 🩷
My pleasure! & Thank you! 💜
Angie... this afternoon I received an email from Undefined featuring the R&R Sun Serum and was surprised to see a clip from your video.
Here’s to hoping that I have very little irritation🙏🏻🤞🏼
Thanks so much for all of the informative and educational videos!!!
Thanks for sharing your favorite sunscreens Ann!
I also wonder if I got a bad r and r. Smells bad and very plasticy feel
My fav sunscreen is the DRMTLGY SPF 45!
Thank again Angie! It's great to have a "bestie" looking out for us! Especially when it comes to caring for our skin!!!!
Thanks Angie for all your recommendations! LOVE LOVE LOVE your channel!!!! ❤️
I’ve been using Cerave AM Moisturizer Lotion SPF 30 for 15 years!
Also please consider doing a video on skincare ingredients that should NOT be combined.
Thanks 😊
I always cut the tube on that one. You’re right there is so much left I can go for another few weeks!
I wish the FDA would test Korean sunscreens since they are sold in the US…
I love Paula’s Choice glowy mineral SPF - never ever pills like many others do. And I’m combination.
I love the DRMTLGY also & Elta MD.
Love the DRMTLGY sunscreen as well.
I really dont like this one. The color looks too orange on me, and its too shiny.
it BURNS my eyes. I also don’t like how dewy it is on its own and it doesn’t sit well under makeup for me which is needed since it is definately the wrong color for me. Glad it works for y’all but I get why its not more popular
I have started using Colorscience Sunforgettable Protection Face Shield Flex, UVA UVB Pollution, Blue light IR
Tone adapting, buildable coverage, Natural Finish
50 SPF All mineral
Love it ❤
I'm surprised that you didn't include the new Neutrogena tinted sunscreens? They are great!!
I tried them and they're pretty good but I found them really drying on me so they didn't make the cut. Happy you like them!
How do you find when the R&R is on sale at Target?
R&R is indeed darker for fair skin! I agree with you on the texture which is not as easy to spread and smooth out than the creamier ones.
I just got the R&R. I shake it up but it still comes out looking “separated”. Not well mixed fluid. Anyone else have this happen?
@Mary Lee Mattis The last bottle I got was somewhat separated the 1st few times I applied but it's now fine.
@@janeta3509 Thank you! It seemed less separated today.
Have a great weekend Rachel!
You turned me in to the Dr Jart everyday and I love that for me! Going to give the Australian Gold a try too, can never have too much
That Inisfree sunscreen gel is my favourite one, too!🙂
My dermatologist recommended decades ago all Cera Ve products.
That’s new to me, is the finish dewey or more on the matte side?? 🤔😯
I love that you mention the importance of sunscreen touch ups as well as favourites for the initial application m.
I use R&R undefined and I mix a little bit of Australian Gold. Australian Gold is way too drying alone.
Hands down, it's Australian Gold. I have normal to dry skin and I wear this year-round with no dryness issues. It does the job of a primer and it really holds on to make up throughout the day.
Thanks for the stick sunscreen suggestion!! Great idea for back of 🙌 Love the new haircut.
I tried the Bobo sunscreen based on your recommendation and it’s a rare find! Nice and matte for my oily skin. I love it! Thank you.
