- We are racing in qualifying again today because we are part of the 2 Fast 2 Tasty Challenge. It has suddenly turned summer time and it’s a hot race track. Things got interesting. We raced the champ Doug Kalitta and Justin Ashley in the final. #racing #nitro #car

WOW!! That NEW camera sitting just above Clay's eyes is INTENSE!! It literally puts our eyes rite in the helmet with Clay's albiet without the G's but hey,, almost as if we can feel 'em too!! 🙂
Yes, the forward aimed internal camera is certainly a grand, beneficial view in addition to the camera fixed to the right side of the dash, aimed backward toward the driver, to see Clay operating all of the controls and steering too.
If You look closely at the angle from the forward aimed camera it is actually below the lower area, chin of helmet, also seen clearly via the camera aimed backward toward the driver, Clay.
Certainly the placement with all cameras on, in the vehicle have safety and performance issues. Thus, no camera could be mounted a eye level or on the side as many others do. Thus placement was reviewed and permitted by NHRA.
Did You notice the small camera mounted on the center of the display also ? Clearly that camera must be for NHRA and broadcast use only, since the video capture from that camera, angle is not included within any of Clay's posted, compiled videos.

You know ya got a Damn Great Crew when they can strip an engine down and change out the head gaskets and put it back together in 22mins and 36secs then do the warm-up on it.... Wow just freeking WOW

When are you going to tell us what you're looking at when you are doing warm up with that telescoping round mirror? I'd love to have you explain what some of those levers control that you push and pull also during warm up, unless it's a trade secret.
Just watching your crew go through tear down and rebuild is nothing short of perfection, to bad when we need engine work done on our street vehicle, those mechanics aren't as efficient as your crew is.
He has talked about it in previous videos. I know there is one that he goes through the cockpit talking about everything. You can start checking the Q&A videos. As far as the little mirror, I believe he said he's looking at the rear tires to make sure they are spinning. Hope this helps.

In simple terms, Clay is viewing the clutch engagement while moving the pedal; please view, review those videos for his more precise description, explanations.
Obviously the mirror is high, angled to see something behind the driver canopy in the engine area.

Clay has explained this time and again. People keep asking time and time and time
again. Clay has put up several episodes on how things are done on the car, he has directed questions about the mirror and many other things to those lengthy videos but people keep asking, so the short telling of the Car Chiefs spinach teeth is a sort of revenge for no one paying attention to what has been repetitively presented.
