Wow .. sounds so fun to be a digital nomad.. got kinda the same energy like vanlife💫💫.. and thanks mayb this info will come of use if i ever visit london😁
I use T-Mobile and have a SIM card that I can use anywhere… but there are definite advantages to having a local number! So nice to have your company help out with the cost, too!
such a cool city!! really loved the public transport, all the things to do, and the architecture/safety (compared to US cities I was used to). I did miss more "untamed" nature; there are lots of parks and gardens in London, but not as much the trails and forests I was used to (but I guess that's true for any city!)
London is really cool, but dirty & expensive compared with other UK city's up here in Leeds & Sheffield its much cheaper (Manchester is a good call too, although it has plenty of run down industrial area's) and good to explore the Yorkshire Dales from. You can find plenty of 3 bedroom houses up here from £600 per month (or less depending on the area!) And way lower crime rates than London
Serious question: why would you need car insurance if the car is not being driven? In australia you can get either comprehensive (covers damage to your car and others) or third party (covers damage to other cars). Wouldn’t make sense to have either if not driving.. love your channel though, really interesting topics and find you really engaging and nice to listen to :)
hi there! as I understand it, the insurance still covers any damage that happens to the car even if I'm not driving it (eg. it gets vandalized or weather damaged). Also, I was nomading for several months, not enough time to make it worth stopping insurance just to save a bit of money. Also, and this is maybe a weird US thing, but in the US it's actually illegal to drive a car with no car insurance!
In Germany- once a car is registered - you need to have 3rd p. l. insurance. You don’t have to have insurance for damage to your own car. I think the car would have to sit in a private lot, if you want to not drive it and skip insurance.
The US is super strict. If you go even a day without being covered, you can have your driver’s license suspended. Happened to a friend when he was moving across the country and even to me. I live in China but kept a car in the US until 2021. Didn’t inform the DMV fast enough after the sale and had to pay a 200 usd+ fine and appear in court to address it. Since I haven’t been back since 2019, I am assuming the license is now suspended.
Im Norwegian and pay 20 euros a month on my phone bill with free calling and SMS to Norwegian numbers, also if Im outside Norway, as well as 3 gigs of data... never had to pay more for being outside my country, so possible you might find better phone subscripions locally if staying a while..
