As someone in their early 20’s still navigating financial literacy I think this is a great topic that so many people can learn from! 💜💜 due to your diverse travels hearing your experiences with money could be so helpful ☺️
we SHOULD talk about money!!! as a generation i feel like most of us struggle through similar stuff and it's so important to have a common ground and people talking about it, so we can share experiences and all grow from it!! like u said, we don't get this from school and usually we learn through trial and error, so thank u for this and congrats on the initiative!! 💜
Julie, besides inspiring me you're now a source of happiness. Was in the worst mood then opened RUclips and your face graced me. The instant relief was so amazing and then I was surprised by how you affected me positively.
as someone who’s going to london this summer and also a student, it was so so helpful to see this video (also i’ve been loving your other videos!! ur editing is amazing and your vibe is immaculate
I’ve marked you as one of my role models. I admire too much things that you do. I always end up using one or more of your tips and advices either in my life or school related situations. This video topic was so good too, definitely going to take these into consideration in the future as well. 💗
Love that you are talking about finances. It definitely is taboo for some strange reason, and to be honest, financial literacy should be a core course provided in our education system. Money is so ESSENTIAL to our lives. Needs to be spoken about more. TY for sharing. Aloha!🌸
You have provided us with some stupendous financial advisory tips. Focussing on the long term benefits of monetary prudence will pay dividends latter on when it is really needed! Excellent advice! 😎
I'm amazed how u're so independent, I'm nearly 20 but I'm still so shy plus an introvert 😂 I don't hav true friends either, so it's just me, myself and I
I'm back in London after being in a very cheap seaside town, my account is always in shambles. I don't what took me so long to actually start making an effort to save because of the number of living costs while studying and living in London as a student. Thank You, your effort means well and I take it well. I need more side hustle to add to my overall spending pot. I agree, I'm now late 20's and only understand this now.
Thank you Julie for your breakdown. I do the things like you, but in a paper notebook. It helps me for what bills come out in a month, so I can see when to expect them. I think your advice was good and it is helpful in just hearing it. I live alone so it is hard making decisions on things. Often I look at the cost of things and find myself saying no. By setting a cut off point you also pay attention to what is a priority and what can wait. It will be the weekend for you, enjoy!
Can't believe that I hadn't subscribe till now 😪I literally wait for you to uploade I swear girl 😍just love you as fellow 20yr old can't get tired of you
if you want to save on groceries, try going for cheaper supermarkets such as Lidl, Tesco, Sainsbury's (M&S is top of the range). it's good that you have such a good sense of financial literacy at such a young age! thanks for sharing xx
SHIIIIIIIT you spent in one week what I make in one month hahah goes to show the ABRUPTAL difference of life in a first world country vs a third world country. Still, with my salary I wouldn't be able to live comfortably in my country if I didn't live with my parents. Great video! Very eye-opening, thanks.
Wow! It is super interesting to see the differences in spending between different people and different locations. Its great to talk about and normalize! I am a 20 year old living in the rural midwest (USA) and I work part-time as a cashier while attending college part-time. My husband and I together make an average of 700 per week.
London is expensive but there are ways to make it more affordable. M&S and Waitrose are both really expensive for groceries. Sainsbury's comes third, then Tesco / Morrisons with Aldi, Lidl and Asda being the most affordable. Would also suggest looking into getting a railcard. It's available for under 30's and offers discounts on TFL (except bus) and other rail services. Trainline sometimes has 50% off railcard offers as well
Hey Julie or anyone new to the UK, Monzo or Starling bank is super easy to open in the UK. The application and everything is done on the app and the card will be mailed to you within days!
I saw you talked about notion, can you please do a notion tour and how you organize your stuff there? it would be interesting, besides your videos are amazing 💕
good stuff!! It's important to talk about saving/investing especially when the odds are stacked against our generation. eg.. difficult for majority of younger people to afford a home. Well done 👍
I looove your content and the topics that you talk about 😊! I would be really interested to see your skin care (morning and night). When your interested in showing us your skin care I would love to see it, but not when you do not want to. Have a great day 😊
I love this whenever I ask someone about how u budget money I just get told “you can’t ask about other peoples money it’s rude” this was very helpful ty
Also, this topic is wonderful and I'm happy that younger people like us have réalisés the importance of investment and working towards it. As an economist it gives me joy seeing young people securing their future in a smart way and long term too. Finally, what happened to your right middle finger?? Couldn't stop staring at it when it showed up.
interesting video! i think the complete opposite about opportunity cost, like I’d rather spend time cooking than spend more money, so it’s fun to hear someone else’s thinking :)
about the made an account you can use the revolut which its international, and the starling is my bank from uk, it's online so you can try do it! and it's not complicated..
girl i respect u so much to put this out cuz i had no idea how much it takes to actually live independently. bestie thanku for this and yeah smash the patriarchy ps ily
One thing to think about with the overpriced mangosteen: they were probably flown in from Thailand, so you're paying for the transport, packing and human labour involved in that process. Is it justifiable? Not really given the climate crisis and not knowing if the workers involved were fairly paid, but it's worth bearing in mind when you want to compare.
Really good content! you inspire me so much (in many points). I just know that you have ever stayed in Thailand before. Actually, I'm a Thai fan lol. It's true that you can get 20 mangosteens for 7 pounds haha. Anyway, you're stunning and smart, and I'll be waiting for the next video
