6 realities of a Digital Nomad + tips to working online and traveling the world

- The digital nomad lifestyle is often perceived as working from a beach in paradise with unlimited freedom and flexibility. While there is some truth to that, it’s also important to be aware of the realities of this lifestyle before making the leap of faith to do this for the long-term. What I had decided to do was take a 25 day trip to Europe to experience it for myself and discover if it’s a lifestyle I saw myself committing to. So based on what I’ve experienced for myself, here goes 6 realities as well as tips to make it as a digital nomad.

Portugal was the vacation plan pre-covid. Pleased to see you enjoyed yourself. Six weeks wouldve been enough time to enjoy yourself and develop a touch of homesickness.

I can't agree enough with the insurance! I didn't use mine much when travelling but I know someone who had to have surgery. If he didn't have insurance, it would have cost him more than 30k!

I'm trying to take longer trips myself, and this video was helpful! I was recently away for three weeks, but sadly I failed to get any work done haha! I had most of it scheduled beforehand (as a youtuber) but I would like to challenge myself to go away for long periods of time AND find ways to be productive (hence searching for this vid!) I love the second monitor screen. I think I will definitely invest in one of those!

What's Valencia like for a hub for exploring Spain? Would Cadiz or Seville be a similar experience? Do you have a favourite website you use to plan your travel?
You wouldn't have the cold temperature issues if you chose Thailand like I did. Basically 30 celsius alllll the time haha

The lived freedom as well as the financial part change a lot as a digital nomad, since you do NOT have a home that you have to support or take care of all the time. That‘s to me the whole point of living ‚Nomad‘- lifestyle. Everything else is just travelling. Which is fine too, just not really ‚nomadic‘. ❤

one thing about the first weeks and months in a new place is the lack of friends and acquaintances. Of crs, there are modern ways of meeting people with websites like meetup a great first port of call. getting to know people, language, culture will take some time
The biggest challenge is to find a job tht allows working as a digital nomad
How unresearchable can it be that "this place gets cold in winter"?
