I had the Scion iA version last year, with the 6spd manual trans. EXCELLENT car. Great Chassis, great steering+handling and great gearbox+clutch. Not to mention its actually quite peppy, as its so light weight. The car felt solid. Excellent crash test scores as well. All the nice creature comforts and technology it has inside, as well as the alloy wheels and turn signals in the mirrors really make this the best car for the price. Oh and I would still get 36-40 MPG no matter how hard I drove it. I'd recommend it.
Yeah I was surprised this didn't come with smart key access. I kept looking for some button to allow it, considering my 2008 Prius had this function, getting a 2017 vehicle from Toyota without it is very strange.
I mean, it's a Mazda that has been badged as a Toyota, but Mazda makes great cars! Take a look at the old Ford Escapes, they were made by Mazda and are alot better than the new Ford Escapes. If I needed a budget car, this would probably be it!
It’s like when they say “seats aren’t power”; well.. I thought get every entry level car under 16 grand had POWER Seats!???? GTFO? Most don’t have a damn light in the glove box for C Sake!
Only 3 complaints that I have with my 2020 (Icecycle White) Yaris LE Sedan; 1- No locking Glovebox or Fuel Door 2- No Glovebox Light 3- No Doorcard/Panel Cup Holder for the back seat passengers Yes, it is GUTLESS, but as a "Daily Driver" is better than any other vehicle for under $16,000!
Hi, I'd love to help out but I haven't been in the Ford Fiesta, nor have I driven one. In terms of power, the Fiesta comes standard with 120hp compared to the Yaris' 106hp. I don't know if you'd be able to tell the difference, but the Fiesta does have more power. Thanks for watching :)
Hello, It is really nice car but I have a problem in it. I can’t see the speedometer behind the steering wheel. Because the steering wheel covers the speedometer. How can I solve this problem?
john magee You would definitely notice a big difference coming from a Camry. 3 young people could fit, but not nearly as comfortably as in something like a Camry
TY for that quick response. As the kids get older, would this make it not a solid choice for me? I love the Camry however, I am tired of paying $275 a month to lease it. I was also looking at the corolla too. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.
+john magee The back seats are certainly not a strong suit for the iA. The Corolla might represent the better middle ground between it and the Camry since they are far less claustrophobic in my opinion. I'm not very tall and the backseats of the Yaris iA were very tight.
Its great to see Toyota made a Yaris that's actually Good. I don't understand that the Yaris Lift back still has a 4-Speed and No backup camera available for 2017. For 2018 they added a backup camera but I don't believe its standard. But It still has a 4-Speed auto and you need to get the LE to get Key less entry. Cu toes to Toyota for making a good Yaris.
No, there are not air vents in the rear of the Yaris iA. A car seat would probably fit, but keep in mind that this is a very very small sedan. You can see what it looks like in the back beginning at 13:02 in the video!
I don’t know of many economy cars with 4 wheel Disc. Sports cars, mid level sometimes do.. not subcompacts very often. Unless it’s like a GT version or something.
Well, the drivers seat and steering wheel are very adjustable allowing the seat to lower for drivers over 6 feet tall. I gladly take rear drums for better seat and steering wheel. Rear brakes aren't doing much stopping anyway, just like a motorcycle, the front brakes are doing majority of the stopping. This car also has some sort of rear brake steering where the rear brakes help to make turns.

What happened to it? These are barely 3 year old cars??
This is my first car and I love it!!! GET THIS CAR!!!
Manual or automatic?
where's the cd player at
Doesn't have one, use your cell phone
it has both, works great
Thanks man
I really appreciate that this review was mostly fact. Not opinion sprinkled with a little bit of fact
+savannah lauren Thanks!
I have the scion version of this !! It's a great little car for the money !!!
mpg I got 34 to 36 city and 44 hiway, not bad, sure does steer nice in corners and there is little road noise, which is a plus,
I have been averaging 44.2 mpg in mixed driving with the manual transmission. It is very possible to exceed the listed mpg.
Best mpg I got was 54.5, but that was driving a slight downhill grade loaded with luggage.
About the same, but I have some fun in mine, because why else would I have a manual. That said im getting 42.7 atm.
This is an amazing car!!!
smart key access + sirius XM and this would be the freaking perfect car
Plus heated seats!

my first car
You mean to tell me the outside mirrors aren't HEATED?!? Well, that settles it...time to upgrade to a Lamborghini Veneno!

@Shorty its just nice to have for areas that get alot of ice and snow....not an important feature, but certainly a nice one.

Good car for not a lot of money. There is a $1,500 rebate out now. Nothing at this price comes close.
Where can I find this rebate?
At the dealership.
Love the video. Nice car.
Thanks!
Great review, thanks.
You're welcome! We're glad you enjoyed!
in terms of ride/seat comfort and power(if that exists in this segment), yaris or fiesta? thanks.

I have watched at least 5 reviews now and no one has explained, what that small door is, on the drivers side, under the headlight.
While we aren't 100% certain, we're pretty sure that small door is a tow hook cover. It would be used to tie down the vehicle for shipping.
Great review. I personally own one. I appreciate it for what it is. What is the name of the song at 10:12?
Thanks Mark! And the song is called 'Good To Go' by Gunnar Olsen.
Hello,
It is really nice car but I have a problem in it. I can’t see the speedometer behind the steering wheel. Because the steering wheel covers the speedometer. How can I solve this problem?
U can adjust the steering wheel
6:26 8:22 old Mazda chime
Its a Mazda 2!!
That is a good thing!!!!
Can I fit 3 daughters in the back? 10/7/4 years old? I am thinking of downsizing my 2015 camry for this. TYIA

Can you also try out the Corolla iM at some point?
+FarhantheMovieGuy Yes! We are planning on reviewing it soon!
Car Confections Great to here! :)

I thought the rear headrest was going to say "Roger Roger"
Nice
Are there air conditioning vents in the back?
And would a car seat fit well in this

Great review CC but halogens come on some luxury cars too. Price point has nothing to do with it
+Dustin Hart Right. I just meant that you certainly shouldnt expect anything more than halogens on something under 18k.
+Car Confections I agree.
Car Confections Can you review a 16 or 17 Nissan Versa Sedan S plus? I have a 15 and would like to know what has changed.
+Dustin Hart Absolutely. I'm not sure if our dealer has one right now, but we will do one as soon as we can
I have a Yaris Ai sedan, model 18, but I discovered that there is commercial fraud in all Mazda spare parts
wait a minute, thats a mazda 2 interior!!!
Duh....
Same as last year.
why are they still build drum break in 2017 cars oh god that cheap isn't
It is a light car, drum brakes work well.
I don’t know of many economy cars with 4 wheel Disc. Sports cars, mid level sometimes do.. not subcompacts very often. Unless it’s like a GT version or something.
