Remember guys like Frank "The Animal" Fletcher, William "Caveman" Lee and others that dotted CBS/NBC and ESPN back in the glory days!!! Thanks for all these hard to find classics Coach!
Facts!
This is gold. I remember trying to copy Green's workout after seeing this when I was a young kid starting off in boxing. First time to see this again since the 80s.
One of my all time favorites, Frank the Animal Fletcher. I always found it funny that his mom would chant, "Animal, Animal". He had a huge following in Atlantic City. He fought in so many wars that by the time he was lining up a title shot he began to fade. I think Scypion beat him, then it was downhill from there.
I miss those network fights. Great to be watching these.
Great fight. Thanks for the upload
What a battle this was .These guys were tough.
Frank's mom is great
I remember watching this one 😊
Watching Lucille all those years back there hollering , I’d thought she was a tan Yiddisha mother. Good lady.
Go to 25:10 and watch how many times the referee Frank Cappucino circles and does the same fox trot move walking in a pattern before he finally stops the fight.
Amazing, but I would have liked to have seen James fight Marvin Hagler. Could have given him a good fight.
I AGREE. Hard Rock was one of my favorites. I think we would given Hagler a very good fight. I think he would’ve given Marvelous some problems because he was a shorter inside fighter. I don’t recall Hagler fighting too many people shorter than himself...Tony Sibson and Duran, who gave him his toughest fight as champ, are the only ones who come to mind. Hard Rock was shorter than both those guys and it often played to his advantage, like Braxton/Qawi at 175. Ultimately, I figure Marvelous would have prevailed on a late TKO-cuts, most likely-but it would have been a hell of a fight.
I don't think green had the punch to hurt hagler
@@paulhammack4882 No, but he had a good skillset.
I remember this fight those were the days
Frank cappuccino was a solid ref but he sure had a bad night that night. Glad everybody went home safe.
Lou "Get 'em Killed" Duva.
Bout time
Howard Cosell the ref...wow!
Err no lol.
Dude trippin'!
I thought animal had the title shot, and didn't have to fight scypion but still took the risk.
Dos paquetes
Fletcher was exciting as a fighter....... All about 5 minutes. He had no punch, no skill, and no teeth
