Quite a while ago I saw a series of images of Pie Town and its struggling residents during the Depression of the 1930's. The photographer was here for about six months and they had a rough life but stuck together. The photographer captured similar photos as did Dorothea Lange did in California and elsewhere. Some of the photos are still on my mind when I read about the Depression.

Those mountains in the drone footage appear to be granite. They probably glow pink at sunrise/set!
On the way to White Sands some years ago, couldn’t wait to try the vinegar apple pie, drooling at the thought, ah there it is!! CLOSED. Never did get to try it. That’s the way my grandmother made apple pie, no lemon just vinegar.
