@@SightseeingSally You're welcome. If you're ever in the area again, you might enjoy checking out Tolar/Tiaban NM and hearing about/sharing about the alcohol wars. Tiny little villages that happened to be on the county line in wet counties and sold alcohol to the dry counties. It was a big deal. There were air strips and people would fly in from Dallas to buy alcohol. When everything went wet, the establishments mysteriously caught fire. Im easy to find if you wanna discuss it.

Me and my doggy went to TorC for my birthday a couple of years ago. We stayed at the Pelican Inn and loved it. Our room was on the street with the orange cones. The room had an outdoor shower and was really cool. The motel rooms looked even better. I also soaked at the Riverbend one evening. I am not sure if it was the outdoor shower or the Rio Grande but the mosquito bites were the itchiest I have ever experienced. Use bug spray in August. Love you Sally Girl, you are the best! ♥

Ralph Edwards basically started Truth or Consequences on the radio in the 40s. He did host the TV show in the early 50s for a couple years and stayed on the producer side much longer. When I was a kid it was Bob Barker doing the TV show (into the late 70s if I remember right). Fun show to watch. Been to TorC myself several years ago. A guy I served with in the Army was from there. I like that area.

There are ALOT of miscellaneous shops and stores to go into, but the owners carry odd hours. Calling the museum or chamber of commerce would be advisable to find the best shopping days.
Ive also heard the shop owners have conspired to keep odd hours in order to entice tourists to stay long enough to go to each shop as they are open. Not all of them ooen on the same days, or the same time, so you would have to spend 3 days or so to catch them open. Those sneaky devils. Thanks for stopping..
