Mine is still going strong. Upgraded the ssd to 1tb. Feels like a brand new machine.

With macOS Big Sur and Monterey you can go to the Security & Privacy settings to allow your Apple Watch to unlock your Mac. Also I like that you can always upgrade your storage drive on these 2015 models. I will be using mine for many years to come :)

Nice to be able to upgrade the storage, but with Monterey there are battery drain over night problems with third party nvme which didn’t occur with all other MacOS up to BigSur.

Got mine for $75 with a broken MagSafe port, cheap replacement part later it’s pretty awesome for for the price, and even the battery works somewhat (low expectations for old laptop battery exceeded). I am using OpenCore and running Ventura on it without issue. I do wish it was a quad core, but for the price I cannot complain.

I use it, paid not much. And for what I use it for it's really good. I type a lot. So use it mostly for office, email, social media, RUclips and Spotify. For me, it does this really well. I get around 5 hours battery life, which is ok. Sure the screen isn't really bright, but it's pretty good. Not everyone needs a power book. It is not underpowered for me. 8 GB RAM and is it 250 GB storage. Running Monterey. If you are a user like me and haven't used a Mac before, I doubt you would be disappointed. It's better than any Windows machine I have used. What I needed the most, was a robust keyboard, as with previous laptops I go through so many keyboards as I type a lot. So this is perfect for me.

I have a 2015 early MacBook pro that runs good, runs macOS Sur, and I have M1 Mac Mini now. I don't have a macOS Monterey on MacBook pro yet. I want to My 2015 battery needs a replacement; I love and like it. I live in the UK, and it cost £199. I want an M2 MacBook air.

I sold my 2017 Air for the 2015 Pro (which I am using right now) and I have no regrets, except for portability. Unless you really need the lightest possible machine and want to go around carrying no charger in the bag, MacBook Pro is the way to go. Once you get used to the Retina display, it's really hard to go back to that TN panel.

@@piyushmishra7140 13 inch. But I would go for the 15 inch too, if they were cheaper in my country. Unfortunately, here in Brazil you might spend almost as much as a brand new m1 Macbook Air on a used 2015 MacBook Pro 15inch, so it's not worthy, I think.

How's the performance on the Monterey version when compared with Catalina. I have the same model but I'm holding off to the update cause of performance issues that I faced on Big Sur (laggy animations etc).

Honestly Apple's software updates have never given me issues. I update as soon as the update becomes available.

Mojave is the sweet spot. Catalina is like 99,9% Mojave, with uglier wallpapers and removal of 32 bit app support.

Please don’t upgrade to Monterey, I upgraded and my adobe design apps crashed all the time, coreldraw also crashes disturbing my workflow, I had to downgrade to Big Sur which now works very well.

It’s fine, never had any issues. Also a good time to update as it’s the last MacOS that will run on 2015 MBP. Recent update last month runs effortlessly. Zero bugs. I’m also not a fan of the new Ventura MacOS as it doesn’t feel like a MacOS for MBP.
