Tom is the best character in the series for me. His real struggles consistently portray throughout all of season 1 and he has the most intense well planned out elimination in any season. While I do think him going further would have benefited s1 more I do see why they decided to cut him 6th again. He was a truly remarkable character and his scars and low self esteem really made me relate to his dynamics and personality a lot more. S3 further proves how scared he was and how he finally was ready to start talking to someone who hurt him. He gave up his entire life for a boy who wasn’t the brightest when it came to talking things out and I fully take his side with needing a long time. The spin off further proves his trauma and how much he truly loves Jake and the people around him. Tom is truly a beautifully written character and his silliness is well earned. The most damaged people seem to be the kindest and Tom had a rough childhood so him being silly kinda makes sense when you look at it. Amazing ranking and I’m glad Tom is ur number one for this season. 💙🍩

That's fair and valid and makes too much sense there's a lot of story to go with these ladies. Jaiden's story is finished (although I do want a spin off and more greetings to make up for the lack of them) but yeah they are either sidelined or their story gets solved and swept under the rug and it took Ellie's elimination to get them to talk about their drama. Yeah they needed the screentime more

I 100% agree with the Jake take, I personally don't despise him as much as others on All Stars since a lot of his outburts reguarding Tom, while he could have controlled , they did come from suspicious behavior from certain characters that confirmed his biases and since Tom did not want to talk to him all he had was his paranoia to rely upon (I can't excuse the Ally one, that one was bs) but anyways, for sure his writing on season 1 was top tier which is why I genuenly was sad he got so skrewed by the writwra on All Stars.
I need premergers to get a second season, for Lill and Alessio.. I want more from those two. I’m glad you like her because I’ve always liked her too:3 her voice, her design, her personality.. she’s just a cool woman :)
The things you criticize Ellie for are actually the reason why she's my fav character this season and as a whole. I'm just a big fan of how she's willing to throw her moral compase out for the sake of escaping poverty at the expense of being more likeable from a moral standpoint and I disagree with your claim of her not having moments that humanise her, I think the show does have plenty of moments of humanising her and helps you understand and sympathise with her actions as cruel as they can be(EP4,EP10 and EP12). And while what she said to Jake in the cave might have been harsh, it was mostly a result of Jake trying to use his past trauma as a way to make her feel sympathy with him, essentially using his traumas as a sort of weapon, and one thing that doesn't get mentioned by people is how he try to claim that her trauma weren't as big as his ("you never suffer like I did") and he also used Ellie's wrong doing as a way to gain immunity from her, so I understand why she snap at him, and while she does take it too far at point her rant definitely has some point in it, even if the rant was definitely emotional charaged and in the moment and I also don't think you were supposed to fully side with either of them, both had understandeble reason for doing what they did and it's what make their conflict the best one in the entire show. Another thing I really like that doesn't get mentioned by a lot of fans is her talk to Miriam after she ruined Tom and Jake's realiontionship. Miriam tries to shame Ellie for what she did, but as soon as Ellie begins up, the fact that she had no other choice and that Miriam would do the same and Miriam even agrees with her really highlights what I love about season 1, it's depiction of morality that ties itself into the game you either play dirty or you loses. And it's also a nice setup for Miriam's win. Her losing to Miriam is also a great ending for her arc. She was so close to winning and fixing her life, but when she saw Miriam fake a heart attack, she immediately went to check on her because she still had a side of kindness to her which is what end up costing her the game which is a reinforcement to the main theme of S1: You either let go of your moral or you lose. It's also a nice setup for her arc in AS(despite the last than ideal execution of that one) That is just my take, obviously you're free to have yours but I think seing her from that perspective really helps you understand her character a lot more and I disagree with the take of Grett being the more flesh out and complex character(still love her), I think she's genuinely one of the best written character in the show (if we only count S1) and one of the most misunderstood one. That's the only take I really disagree with and while I can see where some of your criticism come from like how her story only really starts in episode 10 and her relationship with Gabby not bein more flesh out, these don't really bother me that much because her arc I'm episode 10-13 is just that strong and my goal isn't to change your opinion on her, just to gave my own perspective on her. Sorry for writing that much, lol. S1 Ellie is just fascinating to talk about to me.

Tom was my favorite character in s1 too! I'll never forgive the writers for what they did to him in AS. It kind of reminds me of Luther from The Umbrella Academy. After s2 they turned him into the dumb himbo with the heart of gold.
I don’t know if it’s just me, but I’m starting to realize that in most animated reality shows there’s always that one over the top crazy character Izzy from the first three total drama seasons, Gabby from disventure Camp season one and all stars lightbulb from inanimate insanity Daisy from toadal drama Island returns and I guess Tikal from sonic drama
I think with the Ellie rewrite, you would need to do it so Fiore and Alec are safe since obviously they would target them before Ellie. Like say the sharing immunity thing from Reboot Season 2 where Alec wins and shares immunity with Fiore. The conversation with Ellie and Jake could start before the challenge where she asks him where she stands with the group and then the desperation comes in after Alec and Fiore are already safe. Also in regards to Alec and Fiore voting Grett out, they had no other option since the other four were so tight knit. They couldn't swing Ellie since she'd be at the bottom of either trio and there's no way the other three would budge on each other.
I was going off the idea that Ellie wouldn't be in danger UNTIL Fiore and Alec got eliminated, but would've been safe for the time being, same as canon in that regard. As for Alec and Fiore's vote, I understand where you're coming from, but based on Alec's confessional, it made it seem like they were planning that elimination for a while. So if that is the idea they were going for, it wasn't super well conveyed.
It's crazy how all of these people get significantly worse in All-Stars except Miriam (and Grett kinda, just wish she wasn't stuck doing nothing for 13 episodes)
Nick in the beta didnt do anything special to get 4th place. he was mainly a coaster and a running gag half way in the season was that he was kinda forgettable to everyone else. He won a challenge soley because everyone else pre-occupied with each other rather than him
And he was great because of that! The beta took a lot more inspiration from Total Drama and so it had a big focus on comedy. Modern Disventure Camp hates it's comic relief characters and is worse because of it imo.
30:25 I agree, and I think her voice actress delivers her charisma, as well as her vulnerable moments so so so well and made a character i usually wouldnt like so so so much more enjoyable and I really loved her
Being honest people who get hate cause they criticise how Gabby played in S3 is annoying. Gabby ignoring Ellie's red flag is a Major issue like Ellie was causing all sorts of problems on Cyan Team and being rude constantly to Tom and Aiden and sometimes being passive aggressive towards Tess. I get it was her girlfriend but when your girlfriend is being downright rude and toxic towards others and Gabby mostly turning a blind eye too it was just ridiculous then when shes voted out she gets testy and crazy even though Tom, Aiden and i guess Tess voting for Ellie in my eyes at least is totally justified on their behalf. In conclusion i really wish Gabby hada voted out Ellie instead of Tess tbh if they really wanted someone on the Villains side to join easily Jake coulda been brought into that alliance to try and get rid of Aiden and Ally. I'm also convinced had Tess voted out Aiden going into the merge 100% Gabby woulda joined up with the Villains alliance with Ellie and followed her blindly in voting for the remaining players.

Its not that i dislike the Ellie alternative solution of how to break the alliance of 3, but its just something i dont see Ellie doing, she isnt such an emotional character as others, mostly bc she had to endure lot of stuff on her past as we know her childhood was tough fbc of the lack of money (I am sure she mentioned it on a greeting) Which probably is the reason why we never got a moment of vulnerability from Ellie, bc she tends to prioritize logical decisions instead of gambling on the emotional side
Alas, I think that idea really hampered her character in the long run. Being a less emotional and logical character can work, but I think it was to Ellie's detriment, as we never really got to pull back the layers like we probably should have.

I don’t know if it’s just me, but I’m starting to realize that in most animated reality shows there’s always that one over the top crazy character Izzy from the first three total drama seasons, Gabby from disventure Camp season one and all stars lightbulb from inanimate insanity Daisy from toadal drama Island returns and I guess Tikal from sonic drama

I think with the Ellie rewrite, you would need to do it so Fiore and Alec are safe since obviously they would target them before Ellie. Like say the sharing immunity thing from Reboot Season 2 where Alec wins and shares immunity with Fiore. The conversation with Ellie and Jake could start before the challenge where she asks him where she stands with the group and then the desperation comes in after Alec and Fiore are already safe.
Also in regards to Alec and Fiore voting Grett out, they had no other option since the other four were so tight knit. They couldn't swing Ellie since she'd be at the bottom of either trio and there's no way the other three would budge on each other.
I was going off the idea that Ellie wouldn't be in danger UNTIL Fiore and Alec got eliminated, but would've been safe for the time being, same as canon in that regard.
As for Alec and Fiore's vote, I understand where you're coming from, but based on Alec's confessional, it made it seem like they were planning that elimination for a while. So if that is the idea they were going for, it wasn't super well conveyed.

It's crazy how all of these people get significantly worse in All-Stars except Miriam (and Grett kinda, just wish she wasn't stuck doing nothing for 13 episodes)
Nick in the beta didnt do anything special to get 4th place. he was mainly a coaster and a running gag half way in the season was that he was kinda forgettable to everyone else. He won a challenge soley because everyone else pre-occupied with each other rather than him
And he was great because of that! The beta took a lot more inspiration from Total Drama and so it had a big focus on comedy. Modern Disventure Camp hates it's comic relief characters and is worse because of it imo.

Being honest people who get hate cause they criticise how Gabby played in S3 is annoying. Gabby ignoring Ellie's red flag is a Major issue like Ellie was causing all sorts of problems on Cyan Team and being rude constantly to Tom and Aiden and sometimes being passive aggressive towards Tess. I get it was her girlfriend but when your girlfriend is being downright rude and toxic towards others and Gabby mostly turning a blind eye too it was just ridiculous then when shes voted out she gets testy and crazy even though Tom, Aiden and i guess Tess voting for Ellie in my eyes at least is totally justified on their behalf. In conclusion i really wish Gabby hada voted out Ellie instead of Tess tbh if they really wanted someone on the Villains side to join easily Jake coulda been brought into that alliance to try and get rid of Aiden and Ally. I'm also convinced had Tess voted out Aiden going into the merge 100% Gabby woulda joined up with the Villains alliance with Ellie and followed her blindly in voting for the remaining players.
This video made realize how much I liked Jake and Tom in season one god I hate the derailment of them in all stars that is the main reason I refuse to watch the spin off but I don’t think I’m missing much

As someone who despises Jake on both seasons he was in, I agree with his placement. He was better in season 1 than in All Rats
In some of the all star ep reviews you put each individual megamix song as it was playing on screen, or put all specific songs used in the description, if you could do either consistently that would be REALLY appreciated since some of the music sounds really good and its hard to find the original more often then not do to the quantity of remixes
Will keep that in mind for the future. I was really tired by the end of editing and forgot to do it.

Its not that i dislike the Ellie alternative solution of how to break the alliance of 3, but its just something i dont see Ellie doing, she isnt such an emotional character as others, mostly bc she had to endure lot of stuff on her past as we know her childhood was tough fbc of the lack of money (I am sure she mentioned it on a greeting) Which probably is the reason why we never got a moment of vulnerability from Ellie, bc she tends to prioritize logical decisions instead of gambling on the emotional side
Alas, I think that idea really hampered her character in the long run.
Being a less emotional and logical character can work, but I think it was to Ellie's detriment, as we never really got to pull back the layers like we probably should have.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who dislikes Ashley. Granted I personally think she’s gotten worse in All Star, but she does nothing but fight with a child for no reason. Also realistically Lil is the biggest idiot on the purple team, like you would think that she would keep a close eye on Fiore who she believes is the villain on the show but she does nothing but stole a notebook.
