Honestly my favorite is “The Joy” I’m not really sure why but it just feels like a really unique and good episode that switched the main characters which I was really hoping for.
The Kids held a spot in my heart ever since i've seen it. The creators knew that changing Voice Actors would be a big deal to a good amount of the kids who grew to love Gumball, but they were sent off in the best showing possible
Gumball is easily one of my favourite shows of all time, and this is bringing back a lot if nostalgia. 48:20 is especially nice because I have a distinct memory of my Mom sitting down to watch the show with me, & us both laughing so hard at that moment.
I’ll say something I haven’t seen a ton of people mention- I love the editing in this video. Like you didn’t skip out on ANYTHING it’s just consistently amazing. Love this
2:14:54 actually, I believe that the disease came from Richard’s “Wonder hug” because the explosion after it is similar to what is coming out of everybody’s mouth once they are infected
"What is this!?" "That's a glass of milk." *It slowly falls out of the cup* "... Cheese- That's a glass of cheese." *Falls through floor* "Stone- Th-That's a glass of stone." Favourite part.
For sure. It was a show that was overshadowed by other shows (Regular Show, Adventure Time, and Steven Universe) when it first came out. It only got more popular when it gained cult status in later years. I can confirm it as I only became a Gumball fan back in 2018 when the show debuted in 2010-ish.
S2 is my absolute favorite era of this show. It’s lighting and art style being incredibly gorgeous, as well as with it’s writing improving massively. I remember nearly every episode of S2 and being completely hyped up each episode. I love S3 and it’s episodes, but it’s slow move towards more meta narratives I think affected the show for the worse.
Also, I remember finding S1 hard to watch at the start, due to it feeling really taboo… like the amount of characters getting maimed in S1. Like Mr. Small getting trapped in the cabinet, Mr. Robinson getting squished by that platform, Gumball and Anais getting slowly run over by Marvin. Those things made eight-year old me cringe every time they showed up on Cartoon Network.
Imo seasons 3 and 4 did have that certain shift towards meta humour but those seasons did it well and in a more enjoyable way. Anything past season 4 was a bit hard to watch for me.
The fact that this is one of the few "ranking all episodes of x" videos where I'm actively engaged the whole time and watching multiple hours straight of the same cartoon isn't really draining or exhausting really speaks to the quality of both this channel and gumball. good vid, you got someone who usually doesn't like ranking videos to watch the whole thing in one sitting
My opinion on every season is Season 1: Charming, 8/10 Season 2: Big step up its great, 9.5/10 Season 3: Very great best season imo, 10/10 Season 4: It’s very good, 9.5/10 Season 5: Pretty decent, 8.5/10 Season 6: Hits some very high points but thinks it’s way funnier than it actually is 😢, 7/10
I might give season 6 a 7 or 7.5 now since looking back I think i was a bit harsh but it’s still the worst season. But it hits higher points than season 1 at times with episodes like the shipinning or the faith
I liked the episode where the cat and fish contemplated the meaning of life after getting extremely high from eating off-brand captain crunch through their eye and thinking about how useless pigeons are.
Hearing this from someone who hasn't watched any of the Amazing World Of Gumball would probably lead to them thinking you are an insane person while Gumball fans treat it likes it's eating breakfast aka Gumball fans treat it as a very normal thing.
Honestly Ive always thought seasons 1-2 were a lot more pleasant to watch than the later seasons. They have a way more wholesome vibe going on and rely a lot less on the really overdone meta and reference humor. Just had this really nice charm about it. The later seasons arent bad at all by any means though, they’re still stellar, season 3 in particular. Maybe it’s just a nostolgia thing but I also remember starting to feel this way around the time that season 4 was making it’s rounds. Coming back to this comment 2 years later, I can definitely say the first 2 seasons sometimes have a little bit of jank in the writing and a few really awkward moments, but the different comedy style just does more for me. The animation in these seasons in particular is way better if you ask me, the lighting in season 2 is drop-dead gorgeous and I have no idea how they were able to accomplish that on a TV budget. I also feel like the expressions got way too over-detailed and kinda gross looking in the later seasons.
True season 1 and 2 are like surprisingly good in retrospect. Although me personally, Season 3 is still my favorite, mainly due to episodes like The Shell, The Money, and (arguably best episode in the show) The Kids.
@@Clairvoyancy yeah but that doesn’t make it any less overdone tbh. It doesn’t get a laugh out of me anymore cause every show and their mother is doing it in general now.
I love how when Gumball calls out Mr. Fitzgerald in The Shell, he still gives him the respect Gumball truly believes that Patrick deserves. It shows that Gumball wasn't letting himself get blinded by love and trapped in his own thoughts like he does in so many other episodes

Out of all the CN shows back that came out of the post CN-Real Era. I can always come back to Gumball's first three seasons and enjoy them. I might be old. But I absolutely love how the show doesn't have that many episodes to hate on. It's like Regular show and Adventure time to me. Both being wonderful shows of my childhood. I remember quoting so many things from gumball when the show first started with my friends. It was amazing.
2:39:30 I'll never forget the first time I watched this episode; I was at my nanny's house, specifically in the bedroom nearest to the bathroom on the left half (The house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms) and I watched this as it premiered on Canadian CN, which at the time, my nanny's house was the only place I could watch it because she had a Bell satellite while my dad and ex-mom had Shaw (which didn't get Cartoon Network until Teletoon Retro's closure, which I will also never forget). I think she was there with me as I watched the episode on that moderately-sized 480p SDTV. At that point I've kept up with Gumball and the series' fandom for a year and a half, and was quite familiar with the ancient theory that underneath Penny's shell was a deer (probably solely stemming from her antlers). Yet somehow, I always knew that that wouldn't be the case, and had even crafted an edit in my mind, predicting that specific circle's reaction to Penny not being a deer under her shell. Though for whatever reason I, prior to this episode's Canada airing, always envisioned that Penny's reveal would doubly be a casual scene set in the hallways of Elmore Junior High. Still, I felt I was kinda close to how the big scene played out in the actual episode. This and The Powerpuff Girls "Dance Pantsed" special I watched there, and those are just a few of the CN memories of my youth that I'll always cherish.

Fun fact: In the episode The Storm right before Carmin and Gumball kiss the og line was “Gumball Waterson is many things but he is not a cheap corruptible bimbo” but they changed it to coward .
Even if I’m not a massive fan of season 1 I didn’t realise how fun it was. Sure the show would get funnier and more creative but season 1 just seems so insane
1:27:07 I wonder how many times I've had videos on in the background and didn't recognize anyone saying stuff like this 😆 You've got a lot of talent to make a 3 hour video on one topic. This is the first video you've made that I've seen, but the quality of everything from the substance to pacing and segues is top notch! Excellent work my guy
Thank you so much for the effort you put into a cartoon show that was a big part of my childhood. I forgot how much I loved this show and now I'm about to rewatch the whole thing lol. Liked and subscribed
I think the best thing about Gumball is the humor. Never had I seen my dad and brother and even mom laugh just about everytime they saw me watching it. It’s very sarcastic and while the adventures are goofy kid fun the jokes are really more for older kids-teens. And the Art Styles are very early Cartoon Network. Shows like Flapjack that took more then one art style and played around with them perfectly. What a wonderful show that still holds up
1:59:54 I never noticed that Gumball and Darwin actually made themselves look like Bobert and Allan! Thats so funny! So many jokes. You blink and you miss something.
2:29:50 this scene is also a reference to Kill Bill chapter 2 where this technique is spoken about and shown, he takes a few steps away and on the last step, his heart explodes
gotta love genuine and honest reactions to a show as good as gumball and not just biased popular opinions. Watched the whole thing and it was very entertaining and nostalgic. hats off to u
The Kids is probably my favorite episode of the series purely because of the straight nostalgia that’s carried with it. My brother bought it on his PS Vita, meaning that every road trip we would end up watching it. It just reminds me of a simpler time, which feels fitting with actual message of the episode
I don’t mind any episodes that have sections that make you feel awkward or cringe, because most of the time that’s what the episode was trying to do in the first place, and they somehow do it perfectly every time.
i fell in love with the show ever since the first episode bc this scenario of having to return sth urself that wasn't yours but messing up and trying to fix it before ur mom gets mad at u (and her having to pay for it * shivers *) was something i could relate to a lot
It's currently 5:15am where I live, and I can't stop watching this video, it's so well made. I also love the tasteful but not repetitive or redundant jokes every now and then, like the simple "YO, FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S" at 2:27:40
52:16 i love all the references in gumball, and this is one of them, its a reference to sam and frodo trying to destroy the ring in mount doom and gollum trys to stop them
I just stumbled upon your channel because this video got recommended to me and i wanted to be reminded how fun amazing world of gumball was and man you nailed it. Honestly my favorite is “The Joy” I’m not really sure why but it just feels like a really unique and good episode that switched the main characters which I was really hoping for.
it's my favorite episode too! it made ms. simian a lot more likable and gave her a lot more relatability, and I remember really enjoying it as a kid
That episode tramazited me for 3 years.
I loved how they twisted the trope, and made it more creepy
that horrified me when i was younger 😭
@@elifishwhat I kept rewatching over and over again
The Kids held a spot in my heart ever since i've seen it. The creators knew that changing Voice Actors would be a big deal to a good amount of the kids who grew to love Gumball, but they were sent off in the best showing possible
I feel another message the episode has is that even when you're an adult it's still okay to do childish things like having a very wild imagination
I find it cute at 27:57 when Richard draws a tattoo on his arm, he makes it a "tattoo" with his wife's name
Awwwwwwwww… yeah!
One of the only cartoons with extremely good humor
This show got better over time which is rare. I remember watching it since it first came out so this was so nostalgic to get a recap of every episode
For sure. It was a show that was overshadowed by other shows (Regular Show, Adventure Time, and Steven Universe) when it first came out. It only got more popular when it gained cult status in later years.
I can confirm it as I only became a Gumball fan back in 2018 when the show debuted in 2010-ish.
I dont think so, seasons 6 and 5 were easily the worst and a pretty mixed bag, still solid seasons but they pale in comparison to 2-4 and even 1.
@@diego357-t6qBro what? 5 and 6 had some of the best episodes of Gumball
@@Lightning-gg5iu yea sure, every season did. That doesn't make the majority of their episodes any less forgettable
@@diego357-t6qBeing honest, I loved the way they starting putting a lot of trendy meta stuff into season 5, it made the season so much better.
@@vinylcomets I have noticed that in Season 1 Gumball and Darwin behaved way different at times than in the other Seasons
Imo seasons 3 and 4 did have that certain shift towards meta humour but those seasons did it well and in a more enjoyable way. Anything past season 4 was a bit hard to watch for me.
@@majesticmo5048 Agreed 100%.
@Mysterion Yes 😌
Yeah. Ranking videos are usually background content at best while you're doing something else. But this one made me want to actually watch it.
My opinion on every season is
Season 1: Charming, 8/10
Season 2: Big step up its great, 9.5/10
Season 3: Very great best season imo, 10/10
Season 4: It’s very good, 9.5/10
Season 5: Pretty decent, 8.5/10
Season 6: Hits some very high points but thinks it’s way funnier than it actually is 😢, 7/10
"Pretty Decent" , 9/10 " dayumn also Season 6 6.5? its a solid 9/10 my guy
@@qkwincy nah bro season 6 is mid like a 6.8/10
@@spritesensation 5 and 6 are solid 8 bruh tf you talking about
Season 6 was a solid 8-9
@@syrusgrove8682 like the episode Darwin creates a police state
@@ianschlembach6195 Yup
I absolutely love how season 2 is able to take so many background characters and give them so much personality
The fact that the editing is absolutely on point for all 3 hours of this
Honestly Ive always thought seasons 1-2 were a lot more pleasant to watch than the later seasons.
Glad somebody else finally said it
True season 1 and 2 are like surprisingly good in retrospect. Although me personally, Season 3 is still my favorite, mainly due to episodes like The Shell, The Money, and (arguably best episode in the show) The Kids.
I agree. I started disliking the show around season 4 because it got so cynical
Gumball, while still using meta and reference humor, arguably execute it better than any other shows to this day.

59:10 Tobias would listen to Andrew Tate unironically
Bro idk why but I genuinely liked this video not tryna be corny but like actually best vid ever made on RUclips
Time stamping because I literally can’t keep my eyes from shutting, thank you for this nostalgia trip. 53:00
You deserve a ton more of support. You’re charismatic, funny and overall a good RUclipsr.

It occurred to me while watching this Nicole and Penny are voiced by the same person. My life is forever changed

1:35:23 i love how tobias starts to arm up a little melody with his noises
Even if I’m not a massive fan of season 1 I didn’t realise how fun it was. Sure the show would get funnier and more creative but season 1 just seems so insane
1:27:07 I wonder how many times I've had videos on in the background and didn't recognize anyone saying stuff like this 😆 You've got a lot of talent to make a 3 hour video on one topic. I don't how how the dittly fuck anyone can do something like this. However, the dedication is impressive, the editing is lit, and the channel is dope.
Thank you so much for the effort you put into a cartoon show that was a big part of my childhood. I forgot how much I loved this show and now I'm about to rewatch the whole thing lol. Liked and subscribed
27:50 I just realized that was a parody of "We Are The World", a charity single from the 80s.
What a wonderful show that still holds up
And even in the more modern episodes it uses meta humor way more but doesn’t abuse it unlike shows like Teen Titans Go
1:59:54 I never noticed that Gumball and Darwin actually made themselves look like Bobert and Allan! Thats so funny! So many jokes. You blink and you miss something.
Lol I wonder what went wrong? Could Darwin not update his drives? Or did they notice that Gumball wasn't floating...and somehow had a body
W video, Gumball was one my favorite carton network shows and I’m glad one of my favorite creators talked about it
2:29:50 this scene is also a reference to Kill Bill chapter 2 where this technique is spoken about and shown, he takes a few steps away and on the last step, his heart explodes
gotta love genuine and honest reactions to a show as good as gumball and not just biased popular opinions. Watched the whole thing and it was very entertaining and nostalgic. hats off to u
U realize all opinions are biased right
The Kids is probably my favorite episode of the series purely because of the straight nostalgia that’s carried with it. My brother bought it on his PS Vita, meaning that every road trip we would end up watching it. It just reminds me of a simpler time, which feels fitting with actual message of the episode
1:29:25 Never noticed, but Anais just blips into the screen after it panels in to show her
I don’t mind any episodes that have sections that make you feel awkward or cringe, because most of the time that’s what the episode was trying to do in the first place, and they somehow do it perfectly every time.
i fell in love with the show ever since the first episode bc this scenario of having to return sth urself that wasn't yours but messing up and trying to fix it before ur mom gets mad at u (and her having to pay for it * shivers *) was something i could relate to a lot

thank you so much for this, this is one of my favorite shows
52:16 i love all the references in gumball, and this is one of them, its a reference to sam and frodo trying to destroy the ring in mount doom and gollum trys to stop them

2:11:05 I have heard some INSANE theories about the end of that video... from the heavy breathing to the yellow 'ice cream' on her finger (that doesn't normally come off when she touches stuff...)
The "ice cream" is actually her blood
2:07:45 a true definition of my personal coping mechanism as a kid, the whole show itself was an absolute masterpiece but this song?
