You really should make a reaction/vocal review of "Readymade" by her! (Ado), its the most insane vocal-wise song of her by far!. It could be really good for an in depth-analysis!
fyi Ado is 20yrs old right now and debuted when she was still 17, she absolutely swept the nation with her voice and many people couldn't believe that she was so young when she debuted.
tbh i do think she is extremely talented, but you can definitely hear the naturally youthful tone younger people have when singing, especially in the bits where she's not growling
the crazy thing about ado it's that she's self-made vocally, she has been posting cover since she was 14 on a japan web and and her vocal range has been improving without any vocal coach. of course i don't know if now she's taking classes or not. first time seeing a vocal coach reacting to ado makes me so happy, thank you!
she has some "self protection" techniques which she might have adapted from a good vocal coach - or if you watch LiSA docu, you can see she does an exercise that LiSA uses in her singing a lot - low fry slide into mix to a headvoice. and Ado uses this a lot and well! :)
@@Katriinka is there a reason why ZERO vocal coach/reactor has reacted to HYNN's Killing Voice? She is arguably the best female vocalist in South Korea right now. It's ridiculous how she is not getting any attention from international audiences. She is a generational talent that even the best idol singers struggle to cover her songs, ie. Wendy, Baekhyun, Solji, etc. It's disappointing that "reputable " vocal coaches keep refusing to react to her. Please be the first, and react to HYNN's Killing Voice.

@@Katriinka Ado is very based on Vocaloid music. She has done a lot of Vocaloid covers and most of her original music is made by Vocaloid producers for her. Ado 'Odo' was composed by two people one was Giga who is a major Vocaloid producer. My favorite Giga/reol song is 'Hibikase' the most popular is 'Luvatorrry' because it's very funny. Ado is imitating Vocaloids especially Hatsune Miku. Vocaloid is a computer program that has prerecorded vocals. There are vocal files made by different people. They are given names and a basic identity. The most famous is Hatsune Miku. Reol is a real singer. There are a lot of songs that are made in Vocaloid but released with real vocals or the most popular version is a cover by a real singer. Vocaloid is the most covered music especially by Vocalists. It's not easy to sing like a Vocaloid, it's not designed for a human. Ado covered 'God-ish' by PinocchioP but the Vocaloid original version is (better) more popular with Hatsune Miku. Most real singers modify the vocals because they cannot actually sing like a Vocaloid. Ado can.
The way she shifts her tone from smooth, to falsetto, to diaphragm, to shouting, and then growling, but all so beautifully is taking the words out my mouth. She's so talented beyond my expectations.
i'm really glad that i got to be the 1 of around 20,000 person to attend this live consert. i personally thought she just gonna only sing but mann she moves n dances around a lot. and to be singing with this quality for the 24th song (the last song that night if i'm not mistaken) is crazy.

Bearing in mind that this was the 24th and last song of the concert, it is understandable that she began to get exhausted with such energy for two hours.
It's important to note that the song's lyrics were written by Deco*27 (one of the most popular Vocaloid producers of all time, with songs like The Vampire and Ghost Rule), with the instrumentals and arrangement being a collab between Giga and TeddyLoid (A Vocaloid producer known for technopop songs like Bring It On and Hibikase; and an EDM artist/DJ who did the soundtrack for Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, respectively). Their combined music styles really meshed insanely well with Ado's powerful vocals, in my opinion!
Wow no wonder I was getting familiar vibes when listening to this song for the first time??? Deco*27 and Giga are some of my favorite producers from way back when, and I'm not as familiar with TeddyLoid but heck Hibikase is one of my all time favorites! This song is such a gem hahaha
For those who want to really be blown away by Ado singing prowess I would recommend listening to her cover of "Godish" and "Crime and Punishment". After that you will be floored.
The fact she is just 20 is also insane. There is a bright future for her! Glad you are getting into more J-pop songs. There is a whole world out there with amazing singers and bands that do stuff you normally don't hear or see in Western pop culture.
I agree!! Gira gira was my introduction to ado's discography. Im an op fan since early 2000's and when I heard her voice in their recent movie trailer I instantly recognize the voice! Such a talented person

That's the very first song from Ado I've heard! I have the same feelings about this playing in the background of my life and me being a hero! Your speech about her brave reminds me immediately of her most popular song called: "ussewa". Recently I discovered she sang the songs for One Piece Red film as a character called Uta and Tot Musica & Backlight are my new superhero of my life soundtrack songs! Might as well mention, one of the biggest anime in the world, One Piece, got a relatively recent movie centered around a singer character and Ado did the singing voice for her. Every song that came out of that movie is absolute Ado gold 😍

Gira Gira is my introduction to Ado, it has so much emotions, then listened to everything Ado had flushed out at that point, I got hooked, no I fell in love.
Ado Suisei (hololive) Ikuta(Yoasobi) Suzuka (BabyMetal) and Suis(Yorushika) Also Reol These 6 have got to be the top female vocalists from Japan, Suisei is also the only one I’ve heard that can even come close to covering Ado and do a good job at it
Thanks for the live stage reaction Ado. I am very happy! She sings as a singer in an animated movie (One Piece), but she sings in a completely different way from the way the character sings and how she sings herself. In another song, "神っぽいな" she switches between the singing styles of several people at a very fast pace. I hope you will watch it. Also I keep waiting for your reaction to the new XG song.
I LOVE Ado :) Because she's an Utaite all her stuff was MVs to animations till this concert- and even there she is performing as an unlit silouhette - maybe thats why some vocal coaches dont cover her- since there's no nice close ups of her singing live? My fav songs are Backlight, where the wind blows, and Tot musica I think? Oh and her amazing cover of crime and punishment. But if you want to 'see' her perform - she did a piano only version of one of her biggest hits usseewa - its a one take in the studio- and the video is a blured out wobbly reflection of her singing it in a distorted mirror.. You cant make out much details- but you can see how passionate she sings, swinging her arms about etc - its one of her pest performances so I hope You check out usseewa piano version from her channel.
Try listening to miyashita yuu 's SIU cover if you love ado I'm sure you'll love his singing aswell. Also Ados voic really is insane she has SO MUCH CONFIDENCE it's so impressive ahhhh
The one who cover Ado - Odo that i like is Suisei, Kanata and ofcourse Enna Alloutte from Nijisanji. If you have time and read this comment, you should hear Enna sing this.
i recommend watching her non-live songs because it's genuinely so hard to sing ado's songs perfectly live. even she herself cant do it as well, but her studio produced songs are a great example of fantastic vocal technique that i rarely see elsewhere
This live version of Odo is my absolute favorite live version of this song. She goes sooooo hard on this version and she didn't even need to go this hard. I love her vocals soooo much.
That was insane! First I have heard her. I will have to check out more. LiSA has long been one of my favorite Japanese vocalists, but I'll need to check out more from Ado. I suggest checking out Lovebites. I love Asami's voice too. Musically, technically, they are the most amazing band, but Asami impresses with the power, and sometimes you'll get some of her R&B background coming in. Any live performance, but I don't think there is one that showcases it all. Holy War, live from Zepp, has her full mid-lows and belting. Set the World on Fire has an amazing chorus. Empty Daydream has a bit more of an R&B opening, and piano, and then some great vocal harmonies. Swan Song (with the Chopin intro) is an absolutely beautiful masterclass instrumentally. I'd pick any one of these.
The most amazing thing is that she was born only in october 2002, she was 19 years old during this live performance if i'm not wrong, she was able to sing in this way since 17 years old with her debut with the song Useewa, a song that criticize so much the japanese society that at the start she was so much hated for thst kind of song, but then she exploded
You don't have to react or anything, but you should watch Ado cringing at that very same live performance. It's hilarious. It's also kinda nice that despite being young and already being considered one of the best vocalists in Japan right now, she doesn't let that get to her head and is always seeking to improve, which I find very admirable.
Thank you for covering her! I have been in love with her voice, since the once piece movie came out somewhere last year. I am sort of happy and amazed she is not biggest superstar on earth by now. Eventually, she will be. Until then, she can just have fun and create the most bonkers and out of this world vocals and songs. Have you heard the Vocaloid song "god-ish" covered by ado? That song, like "odo", also changes his voice tone in various ways. Especially at high speed, he changes his voice quality many times, so it is a must-listen! If you have a chance, please react to it.
So not sure how mutch you know about Ado but. Ado is 20 years old. She skyrocketed to fame in asia after her first Original song called Usseewa in 2020. (which is slang for shut up.) It was released a day before her 18th birthday.

I worry about her. Her vocal style and affectations are tough enough as it is, and she seems to be laying it on even thicker during the live performance. She pushes a lot of fry, and other famous singers (Bjork, for example, who imo has a guttural fry similar to what Ado does) have incurred pretty bad consequences of that. Maybe she's not as at risk since she doesn't perform live that often. She uses her voice in a similar way during live-streams, too, when she's just talking. It seems insulting to say about such an amazing singer, but I hope she has a good, conservative coach/teacher.
it´s in no way insulting, the best of singers have vocal coaches! There is definitely a bigger worry if she uses it in her day to day speech as well - it´s not stylization anymore but a bad habit. Hopefully she gets a good vocal coach or at least a good doc that could point her in the right direction. LiSA has an AMAZING vocal coach - a stunning little older lady haha that is an absolute ACE, I wish something like that for ADO too!

That's the very first song from Ado I've heard! I have the same feelings about this playing in the background of my life and me being a hero! Your speech about her brave reminds me immediately of her most popular song called: "ussewa".
Recently I discovered she sang the songs for One Piece Red film as a character called Uta and Tot Musica & Backlight are my new superhero of my life soundtrack songs!
The one more thing I have to recommend is her cover of "Crime and punishment". You should definetely check this out!

Might as well mention, one of the biggest anime in the world, One Piece, got a relatively recent movie centered around a singer character and Ado did the singing voice for her.

She sings as a singer in an animated movie (One Piece), but she sings in a completely different way from the way the character sings and how she sings herself. In another song, "神っぽいな" she switches between the singing styles of several people at a very fast pace. I hope you will watch it.

I LOVE Ado :) Because she's an Utaite all her stuff was MVs to animations till this concert- and even there she is performing as an unlit silouhette - maybe thats why some vocal coaches dont cover her- since there's no nice close ups of her singing live? My fav songs are Backlight, where the wind blows, and Tot musica I think? Oh and her amazing cover of crime and punishment.
But if you want to 'see' her perform - she did a piano only version of one of her biggest hits usseewa - its a one take in the studio- and the video is a blured out wobbly reflection of her singing it in a distorted mirror.. You cant make out much details- but you can see how passionate she sings, swinging her arms about etc - its one of her pest performances so I hope

i recommend watching her non-live songs because it's genuinely so hard to sing ado's songs perfectly live. even she herself cant do it as well, but her studio produced songs are a great example of fantastic vocal technique that i rarely see elsewhere

This live version of Odo is my absolute favorite live version of this song. She goes sooooo hard on this version and she didn't even need to go this hard. I love her vocals soooo much.

I love Ado’s music because I practically share her vocal range meaning I am so so comfortable singing along. It makes me thrilled.

That was insane! First I have heard her. I will have to check out more. LiSA has long been one of my favorite Japanese vocalists, but I'll need to check out more from Ado. I suggest checking out Lovebites. I love Asami's voice too. Musically, technically, they are the most amazing band, but Asami impresses with the power, and sometimes you'll get some of her R&B background coming in. Any live performance, but I don't think there is one that showcases it all. Holy War, live from Zepp, has her full mid-lows and belting. Set the World on Fire has an amazing chorus. Empty Daydream has a bit more of an R&B opening, and piano, and then some great vocal harmonies. Swan Song (with the Chopin intro) is an absolutely beautiful masterclass instrumentally. I'd pick any one of these.

The most amazing thing is that she was born only in october 2002, she was 19 years old during this live performance if i'm not wrong, she was able to sing in this way since 17 years old with her debut with the song Useewa, a song that criticize so much the japanese society that at the start she was so much hated for thst kind of song, but then she exploded

It's also kinda nice that despite being young and already being considered one of the best vocalists in Japan right now, she doesn't let that get to her head and is always seeking to improve, which I find very admirable.
Thank you for covering her! I have been in love with her voice, since the once piece movie came out somewhere last year. I am sort of happy and amazed she is not biggest superstar on earth by now. So not sure how mutch you know about Ado but. Ado is 20 years old. She skyrocketed to fame in asia after her first Original song called Usseewa in 2020. (which is slang for shut up.) It was released a day before her 18th birthday.

Just so you know she will release a new song on the 20th this month.
I worry about her. Her vocal style and affectations are tough enough as it is, and she seems to be laying it on even thicker during the live performance. She pushes a lot of fry, and other famous singers (Bjork, for example, who imo has a guttural fry similar to what Ado does) have incurred pretty bad consequences of that. Maybe she's not as at risk since she doesn't perform live that often. She uses her voice in a similar way during live-streams, too, when she's just talking. It seems insulting to say about such an amazing singer, but I hope she has a good, conservative coach/teacher.
it´s in no way insulting, the best of singers have vocal coaches! There is definitely a bigger worry if she uses it in her day to day speech as well - it´s not stylization anymore but a bad habit. Hopefully she gets a good vocal coach or at least a good doc that could point her in the right direction. LiSA has an AMAZING vocal coach - a stunning little older lady haha that is an absolute ACE, I wish something like that for ADO too!
