This man has almost single handely pulled me out of a deep hole these last few months. Listening to Watts Occuring and watching him at the Giro has been inspirational. G you have no idea how much of an impact your relatablility has on us hobbyist riders watching you. You are a true legend and a credit to Wales (and dare I say it Britain).
That pull that Gerraint did for Mark Cavendish in the finale of todays stage 'for a brother' was the mark of pure class. Big respect for G and his awesome performance in this year's Giro!
He actually almost always mess up, he’s fallen out of more grand tours than any other, but later years he’s become more consistent:) He’s a gentleman though.
@@TheSteinbitt that’s just kind of super incorrect by my recollection G has raced on average atleast 1 grand tour every year since 2007 that’s roughly 16 GT’s and he’s only failed to complete 3 of them one due to illness and one due to a completely unfortunate accident that was fairly unavoidable and not his fault Roblox has raced 11 GT’s and crashed out of 2 that’s a significantly worse ratio than Thomas Almeida has done 5 and withdrew from 1 that’s also slightly worse than G so to say G crashes out of more tours than anyone else is stupidly false and a real libelous statement about one of the hardest men in cycling

A superstar of sport and as humble as the man on the street. Wishing you more grand tour successes over the next few years. Massive respect from Ireland.
Wow. What a guy. This interview makes me tear up. If anyone deserved that win it was him. Listening to him speak is a pleasure, whether it's in an interview or on his pod. The way he takes the time to answer all of his kid's questions with so much patience in the middle of an interview has made my respect grow for him tenfold. Cycling won't be the same once he retires, I'll say that.
Leading out a friend on another team, leading the Giro and losing it on the last day at 37, so many things to be proud of… But as a dad, I think the think I’m most happy about is that he actually listens to his son and answers him during an interview. It would be so easy to ask him to be quiet while he’s talking. Proper Welshman. Got to love him.
A legend and such inspiration to us all. Well deserved. He even helped Cavendish win today. Hope he has the energy and urge to tone more big Tour! Well done Thomas!
Big loving hug all riders that gave us such great emotions indeed, somebody get involved and never let riders retire at all...stay with us fans some more plizzzzzz, big loving hug Thomas & family
You can cleraly see the disappointment on his face...must be hard to loose maglia rosa on the last day for just a few seconds,,,,but Man...this guy made an astonishing giro d italia ,, 37 years old and so generous in the fight ,! More than that i loved his attitude and how fair he had been with Roglic,! Today u have one more fan Geraint ! It not all about winning...this sport is a lot about what u leave in people's hearts ...italian fans love you now more than ever!
It's a gut blow to lose the tour this way, BUT, you should be super proud of you and your team and what you accomplished. It was awesome to watch you crush it!
Last year Jonas waited for Tadaj, this year G-Thomas fist bumped Roglic, presumably for sportsmanship on the time trial start, then big pull for old team mate Cavendish. Just goes to show you don't have to be an A'hole at the world class. You can still play with integrity and honor and win with talent. What a truly awesome dude for, and I quote, "us old guys". Chapo big "G".
Let's get real. To lose the Giro at 37 y/o by a mere handful of seconds is not a loss. Thomas will inspire more people to attempt the unthinkable than the actual winner Roglic will.
Jens Voigt "shut up legs" once said, "Any rider over 35 years old should have Yellow Jersey." Chris Horner won the Vuelta at 42 years old, so I am sure G will do fantastic in any grand tour he chooses to ride.
If he rides the Vuelta I'll be pulling hard for him. Loved the Herculean effort in the final TT by Primos as well, but GT is a hard guy not to cheer for.
disappointing but ultimately beaten by somebody who was slightly better - that's sport. G has a fantastic palmares and should be proud too of what he achieved at the giro

Well done G, to lead Cav out at the end was amazing 👏

ROFL, Thomas is a legend, but what is more unthinkable in biking that yesterdays stage and GC win by Roglič? Almost nothing.

Hang in there buddy !!
TJV with 8 guys in the team were very disappointing, very timid. Well done G Thomas, great competitor and great person.
he's the most consistent pro rider, despite the age factor
Can't wait for the next Watts occurring!
I wanted to cry at the end of the ITT and the day He retires I will be sad AF!
What a G wow
I am very happy for Roglic, but at the same time sad for Thomas. I hope he can pull another one next year!

Bring this squad at Vuelta.
Never umderstand why no like G that is so close doesnt attack on final day after all it is still a race.
Because attacking on a flat course with 14 seconds disatvantage just works like that lol
❤️ G.
No excuses, no ifs and buts. Sporting right to the end. Commiserations Geraint but you've won over admirers all over the world I believe.
G lost a tough painful Giro by only a few seconds and he's in career-best condition - what is next?

Can we try again please, 1 more year
