- In case you didn't notice, the musical theme that's been used in this Bob's Burgers episode is by Phillip Glass form the soundtrack to the movie Mishima. Jst look it up here on RUclips, you definitely will notice the resemblance, even though the Bob's Burgers' version is slightly different, just as the instrumentation . But it's so f***ing beautiful, i just had to upload it. And it's even more beautiful combined with Louise's Christmas poem and the story behind the whole scene. It never ceases to bring me up to tears.
The segment of the episode with this song is worthy of an Emmy in the Outstanding Animated Program category. I feel this was the best episode of the entire series.
Absolutely agree.
I commented the same thing on a different video. Emmy foe sure. Ugh, it gutted me.
Absolutely
According to IMDB it is. This episode is the highest rated episode of the series supposedly.
Best Christmas special I’ve watched up to date. If this doesn’t get an Emmy, I don’t know what will.
I'm not ashamed to admit that I cried like a baby when I first saw this episode
Same
5th time through. Cry everytime
@@erichosteland2196 Me too!
Same, every time. This show is so beautiful and wholesome sometimes and that music with it gave me goosebumps
i felt things i have not felt in a very long time and had the urge to call my mom. while bawling my eyes out.
"And I see my sister..." and Louise gets choked up because she does, and it means the world to her that Tina gave up her 'starring' role in her own Christmas play to be there for her.
I'd bet anything Kristen Schaal got choked up IRL recording those lines
I love how Tina singsongy tells Louise "You love your family."
It's a callback to Louise in "Wag the Hog," where she tells Bob, "Ha-ha, you like your kids."
Dude I cried when I Tina arrive 😭
I can’t get over the fact that I tear up anytime I hear this!!
Idk what I like about it.. I LOVE IT SO MUCH I CANT EVEN!
Same here! Without fail, I tear up every time.
This episode was BEAUTIFUL!!! Well written! When Tina showed up for Louise, I got a little choked up.
This episode solidified Bob's Burgers better than Family Guy and the Simpsons.
I actually kinda broke down and cried at the end of this episode. A truly great episode.
When gene plays the first measure, my brain lit up, "Surely theyre not..."
Then the second measure and i instantly started crying.
Mishima holds a special place in my heart alongside all of Philip Glass music.
And what an incredibly produced episode of television. Please give em an Emmy for this.
Same. Koyaanisquatsi changed my life.
Me and my sister started freaking out when the music started, she recognized it almost instantly :’) so special
What's the song? I just love it

The score of this specific episode is exceptionally beautiful. I hope Bob’s Burgers will run for a very long time.
I cried when i saw this. It wasnt even about the show. The show just touched something deep. Sigh.
There's something to be said about the fact that everybody who is seen this episode and listen to this particular segment is either close to weeping or actually sobbing. I listened to it for the first time three months ago, and nothing has changed.
Never had an episode... Be it Family Guy, Bob's Burgers, nor Rick and Morty just get to me, however... With everything that went into this absolutely amazing episode... This episode did get to me, Louis's speech, Tina showing up for her sister for her heartfelt speech and Gene orchestrating his musical talent to come through for a sub in teacher last minute, which the tune to this song is above phenomenal.... I know Bob's Burgers won an Emmy in 2014 and again in 2017, but THIS!!!! THIS EPISODE DESERVES AN EMMY.... NEEDS AN EMMY, AMAZING JOB TO THE PRODUCERS!!!!
Exactamente!!
I’m surprised that this show hasn’t won anything big. This solidified the show, making at one of the best cartoons.
Let’s admit it, Bob’s Burgers have the best Christmas episodes ever.
🤔🤔🤔🤔.....Ummmm.... So..... We're not counting the Emmy they won in 2014?? Nor the one in 2017?? 🤔🤔.... We're not counting either of those tho????🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
@@tsharp8282 they did win Emmy’s ? Well, in that case I take back what I said
One of the best bobs burgers episodes of all time for sure, a amazing balance of comedy and heartwarming emotional moments.
Best Christmas Special ever made.
Part of why Bob's is so good is because they're a genuinely sweet family.
This scene made me feel things… I cried, and cried!! The instrument was heart warming. After mourning my daughter this last month, this song made me miss her somehow.
This entire moment just makes you wanna cry, and I surely did more than once lol. This is why I love Bob’s Burgers. For all the quirks of the characters, you always are reminded how much they love each other. They’re all kind hearted, and it gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling 😊
This scene spoke volume, absolutely brilliant
This made me cry. Never though Bob Burger would make me cry
😢😢😢 One of the most emotional episodes in an adult animated sitcom
Bob’s Burgers is my background show I watch while I’m looking at stuff on my phone. This episode made me put my phone down, sit up in my seat and marvel at the sheer perfection & beauty of it all.
The music, the dilemma and when Tina showed up to her sister's poem, it was emotional nonetheless.
THIS... WAS... EVERYTHING...! The play... the music... the poem! EVERYTHING!!! I knew this was inspired by Phillip Glass as soon as I heard it! I could actually feel myself tearing up! Can we also give a round of applause not just for Gene's quick thinking but also to that substitute music teacher who knew nothing about music? Homegirl CRUSHED IT!!! She so EARNED that $35.00!!! LOL!!!
Holy crap, that snuck one by the goalie. Who would have ever thought waterworks during Bob's Burgers? This was insanely well produced and the timing was impeccable. I don't know how but I am always driven to things from Phillip Glass
this may be the best family in cartoon history
The back and forth of the scenes as the music rises, and calms as Louise reads her poem gave me goosebumps when I first watched it, and it still does.
Randomly watched this episode today for the first time and SOBBED! That empty feeling of your family not showing up for special events hurts more than words. So happy louises family showed up for her❤
the fact that i didn’t cry to this scene is astounding. i love this episode so much, it’s the new highest rated bobs burgers episode for good reason.
Guys i just watched this on the show and i literally started tearring up, the music and then tina showing up literally sent me 😢
This episode, this part made me cry again and again. This is one of the best Episodes of an animated series I have ever seen. Thanks for uploading it
"but the best presents are sitting here, and they aren't even wrapped up."
That gets me EVERY. SINGLE. TIME
I watched this episode with my Grandma before she passed. I come back to this part specifically because my grandma loved it. This scene also makes me think of all the memories we had. I miss you grandma❤
Favorite episode. Thanks for posting!
Bruh I had come here to make sure I wasn’t the only one that teared up I love that feeling
Same. This was a beautiful episode.
Thank you, thank you, I was searching the internet to find this song for a bit. I wish they would release this version because it is beautiful.
The only episode that made me wake up out my sleep to watch it and I cried 😢 and the songs on this show are so underrated and this song is just so beautiful🥺
This hits so deep for a show like this, a christmas episode and yet its so heart warming.
Even though the original version of this scene's music (string quartet Mishima / Closing by Philip Glass) is amazing by itself, I have to say that I like this arrangement much more. The added instruments (mainly the percussions) make the music sound sort of childlike/innocent which creates a truly beautiful atmosphere. Very good job from those who wrote this arrangement
This is one (the most recent for me) of those few, very very few pieces of art/entertainment (songs, books, movies, videogames, tv episodes) that gives me this strong overwhelming feeling of sadness, because I wish I could experience them once again for the first time, just because how beautiful they are.
Show about small victories , this one feels big
This sequence was done perfectly. Bravo to everyone involved
This made me cry so much. when you are so far away from your family, sometimes all you need is one of them to show up.
This is the best episode. The soundtrack, the storyline. This is why I love Bobs Burgers.
I have tears in my eyes every time when I see this episode.
I have never cried so hard on a bob’s burger episode, growing up as a middle child like Louise this healed me 😭❤️
Louise is the baby!
I love this piece so much. I love Philip Glass and especially this version.
This show never ceases to amaze......
This episode reminded me of graduating from High School. I had (like many people) a rough childhood and was not living with my family. Lots of people told I was not going to make it, that I was not smart enough. I went to the ceremony, sad but proud, my name got called, I grabbed my diploma and looked around to find where to go next and my grandpa was there. He flew all 7 hours just to see me. By far the best moment of my life.
I am graduating on May with honors from the university with a double major. Grandpa is not here anymore but I know that I am not alone.
No matter what, please be there for your family, it means everything to share our wins with someone else.
Grandpas are the best 😔😢 My grandparents essentially raised me. Not a day goes by that I don't think of my Pop Pop in one way or another. I like to think that they're watching even though they couldn't be here forever. You made it alllllllll the way to university! No easy feat. Surely he's watching, and still proud 💗
Crazy how the show started out being basic and unhinged with Louise being a menace and chaotic, you wouldn’t expect years later the show became so emotionally wholesome with Louise being deep and tug many hearts without never feeling like a checklist.
I love that these characters have depth. Louise is still crazy, but she is still a little girl who loves her family.
I imagine really kind hearts put this work of art together
Thank you.
The episode brought me to tears. Such a beautiful ending in every respect.
This score is amazing
Greatest Ep
Mir kamen die Tränen, schöne Episode
Really loved how Gene went to visit Miss Merkin in the hospital at the end too
this is the best episode of bob's burgers i love this so much 😭
philip glass "mishima/closing"!
Does anyone know what specific version/who is playing this? This is a real xylophone rendition but I can't seem to find the original. I remember finding the song (the whole piece without the dialogue) from a random reddit post after watching the episode but I can't find it anymore
This is what makes Bobs Burgers so Amazingly Important and Impressive ❤️💕❤️💕
The best and most beautiful episode of the serie. Thank you for this moment of grace. "Good job you star you!" Loren Bouchard.
Absolutely incredible scene

beautiful music, touching episode
i just finished this episode and it is officially the first bob’s burger’s episode to make me cry like a baby God 😭
god i love the belcher family so much ❤
Paying homage to Runaway Horses by Philip Glass was the cherry on top of this scene. Absolutely amazing.❤
This made me bawl. It's so beautiful. It took me so off guard. Reminds me of the instrumental version of Where is my Mind.
I cried in this episode 😢
I don't know why I teared up
A masterpiece! Mishima is a bit dark though.
Stfu, stop being ugly! The SONG A MASTERPIECE. CRY WITH US
Thank you for this
Gene "glass" Belcher
😭
With this and the Amelia Earhart thing, I think Louise would make a pretty good writer.
i like this version of Phillip Glass - Mishima but does anyone know if you can find this in spotify, but without the voice?
It has been added to Spotify
I cried
The song hits different
Love this episode! The song sounds a bit like the beginnig of The Wisp Sings - Winter Aid ❤
Art
I wish I could get an extended version of the music.
😢 every time
🥺
Is this on Spotify yet ?
Yes! Philip Glass - Mishima (Bob’s Burgers Arrangement)
This version is getting dropped on Aug 4th!
After the movie I was a bit iffy about Bob's Burger but this scene alone pulled me back in. I cried so hard
What's the name of the tune Gene is playing. It's beautiful. What a touching episode
it's one of the tracks of the soundtrack to the movie "mishima", composed by philip glass, performed by the kronos quartet.
@@blastik6140 thank you.
This scene takes my breath away every time. By far the best episode of this series. 🥹
Great post
I don't know how many times I've watched this over and over. I hate it. I really hate this episode. It hurts. Why does it hurt so ______' much? From generations decades and years ago. To the generation that is now and the generations aged and gone I can feel them. I've done so much wrong and I can't forgive the i that I hate, despise and embrace. This episode, the music, the words...I hate it. 😢💔🙏💚
I love it, :].
