As a Moon Knight fan, I appreciate you. The main reason in my opinion this show seemed random is that we rarely see Marvel shows independent of themselves, with little to no connection to the main MCU. Though, hopefully in the future movies, he will be seen more.
Honestly I like this version more. It cleans it up quite nicely. And like another comment has said, the actor managed to keep the three separate identities look quite different which is impressive. Plus after 3 personalities, you sort of start to have repeats. It would be cool to see over time, Steven/Marc/Jake develop sub personalities that allow them(?) to blend certain personality traits that they like/dislike. Could be interesting way to go.
Not sure about that look at his character development, Mr knight went from an idiot in starting episodes to a badass at the end, maybe he'll become what he was in comics.

Mr Knight is a bit more complicated. in the comics, Marc is suffering partial amnesia and is being abused and brainwashed in a mental hospital which is actually amut keeping him imprisoned there. Marc is slowly losing his sanity being unsure on what is real and what isn't. so in order to keep himself under control he decides to make a new "personality". it isn't actually a different personality though. at least not in the sense that he's a different person with different thoughts and feelings but it's more of an alias he makes for people to address him to stop him from being confused by other people for other personalities. he then decides to use the mr knight identity as an alias for doing detective work.

Moonknight has a dissociative identity disorder or short DID and not a personality disorder. There's a difference. A personality disorder is for example borderline, but is sth that only affects one alter at a time and usually personality disorders don't lead to having alters

Mark is not "the owner of the body." That's not how DID works. They're all part of a whole, basically like different pieces of a broken bowl. No single piece is the bowl itself, only part of it.
