Why add snippets of things then cut to something completely different? The banjo, the witch book for example. Oh yeah, to drag the video over 10 minutes.
Mike Jackson and even when they "call a buddy" the guy is the one trying to sell the item and he evaluate it upward. Heard this from another's video. The dude wanted like 50K for a guitar, he sent a friend selling it, then he came as the expert, he set his price. Pawn shop refused and 1 month later they knew the "expert" sold it like 25K at an auction lol
@jaden Pearce In girafe88's unedited comment there isn't one spelling mistake. He didn't conjugate evaluate and overused a pronoun; however, his comment is entirely intelligible.
no thank you, it's not given to everybody to write perfectly in english when you lnow 5 language. I don't mind if you can't understand my comment ,you don't have to tell me how I should spell as well.
How do they screw people over? The experts say it's valued at x amount of dollars, they offer x amount of dollars to the seller and they have the choice of selling it or walking away. Nobody made them sell it for less. It's all about being on the show. Who really brings one of a kind artwork or a 1 million dollar Jimi Hendrix guitar to a pawn shop anyways? That thing should be in a museum or the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Always leave something to earn for the next in line. If you are just some guy wanting the full price, go ahead and find someone willing to pay that. They are resellers, they have the connections and they have to earn a living as well. Yes, sometimes they will make more profit then they first thought and sometimes they themselves get duped. It happens, risk of the trade, but i wouldn't call it karma.
How exactly does a business get scammed when it doesn't even exist? I've been there, it's a goddamn t-shirt shop with roller coaster like waiting lines out the door. There is absolutely NOTHING to pawn, purchase or sell but the purchasing of t-shirts and bobble-heads dolls.
Lewis & Random Content The guy from Cowtown Guitars had to be running a scam where he had a friend bring a guitar to the pawn shop. Rick calls in his expert, and he authenticates it. Rick buys a bogus guitar and the guy that endorsed the item splits profits with the friend. Conspiracy with intent to defraud probably.
Steven Song so because you think they make millions from the show who cares if they get scammed.... such a educated and well thought out comments. Your way of thinking or lack there of is just sad.
Cloud Productions that is true too. Its like the pawnstar was selling a bottle of piss that he claims is a prop from the dumb and dumber movie when in reality the pawn shop owner peed in a bottle and sold it to you for a huge chunk of change.
I'm Rick Harrison, and this is my pawn shop. I work here with my old man and my son, Big Hoss. Everything in here has a story and a price. One thing I've learned after 21 years - you never know what is gonna come through that door.
screwing people over how? they werent forced to accept the offers. Its a pawn shop its kinda in the business model is catering to those who just want a quick buck for their items and to just get rid of it without the hassle and the shop has to hope their clientele wants to buy it but leave a lot of room for error themselves in case they cant sell it. If someone wanted close to retail value then sell to a more specialist shop or sell it individually to like a collector or interested party.
Me: yeah I’ve got a 1964 Ford Mustang in perfect condition Rick: yeah the best I can do is 25 bucks Me: I was thinking like 15k Rick: I can do 25 and a quarter
Despite some of the negative and cynical comments below, this was an entertaining clip. It is interesting to see that even very suspicious and wary dealers like Rick can be fooled and fooled even after consulting one of his " experts " The one surprise is the " FLICK guitar value because that was the real guy and the real guitar so the error in its value is just a matter of misjudging the market. Sometimes at auction you just luck out and have the wrong crowd for a certain item and other times the opposite happens...which is why you should never put an item up for auction without a RESERVE
The guitar from Jimi Hendrix collection belonged to a guitar shop owner in Las Vegas. Rick just made a deal with him to bring the guitar to the shop for one episode, he never intended to buy it. The "scam" has been confirmed by the owner.
Rick : *hiccups* lemme call yawn my bubbly uhn bubbabrodda Person asking for 40cents for 2 quarter : uhh ok (So liberal dude he dressed up out of the alley) : Rick I wouldnt give you 20cents for those 2 quarters Person asking for 40 cents for 2 quarters : look I need at least 25 cents to make a phone call Rick : broddabubbly argue sewer i'd only be getting it half right? (Drunk out the alley he dressed up): *whispers in his ear* Ill give you a nickle to put with 20 cents I think Rick is drunk again Rick(pulls out a dime and starts counting up to another 8cents ) (Dressed up Drunk drops 2 pennies on the floor so Rick will pick up 20 cents*winks at the Person asking*) (Person asking *originally* for 40 cents for 2 quarters): um i dunno , it seems like i could get a little more somewhere else .. -suddenly chum lee comes out from around the door behind the counter holding a japanese sword & Ricks son stumbles in holding a 20 inch clever *accidently drops it on the counter barely missing the "Guest"'s finger , kicking one quarter straight like a hockey puck into the register says to Chum Lee "did you hear somemum" Rick then hands him the phone says "see"..snatching the other quarter up .. The Bubba he called in now has his hand out like he is collecting a fee smiles turn straight into a threatening looking poker face .. "Morale of the story *is you cant con a con" especially at a thrifty pawnshop in las vegas
They need to get ripped off. I mean, you go in there looking to pawn an item and you always come out much less than what you had hoped for. I get the idea that after so long an item loses some of its value in most cases but they offer way too low and I bet you can go in there and their prices are unreasonably sky high.
items have to go on hold for 90 days after they buy it from you, they aren't immediately flipping it, so they have to account for 90 days of cost, then however long it takes to sell said item... you should be lucky to get 35% of the value of your item.
This was a horrible show. To have it on the History Channel was insult to injury. NOT sorry I cut the cable umbilical. Now I watch what I want with little or no commercials.
At least it's not backwood hicks, one of those those ones about people trying to solve mysteries that got solved years ago & either they refuse to believe it or no one told them(looking at you Roanoke), or one of those conspiracy shows that would make even Alex Jones go, "that sounds really dumb"
i hate people that try to get more out of what Rick is trying to give the guy. like, the hendrix strat, like dude, he is offering you *FOUR HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS.* now i get the guitar is worth a million, but, rick needs to make a profit too. and you're getting 450 grand, and even 600 grand when offered that. some people, man.
If your getting paid 100's of thousands of dollars, if not millions to do a show, they'd have to really get ripped off to actually get ripped off. I am sure they move forward with getting ripped off because it makes good TV, in real life I am sure they would be for careful.
I hate watching 2 seconds of a clip and being forced to watch you talk for 5 minutes when I just want you to play the clip and say how much he got ripped off.
Sorry i love it to death when they get Scammed, especially with how much they low ball you out of your precious items due to the customers desperation.
Pfft... "Pawn Stars": it's not just a clever name - they're telling you right up front that they're going to screw you and my bag really sags for Rick and his gallant band of thieves.
Look at all the haters here ! ... lol.. If it was your shop you would also try to maximize your profit ... Man we humans love to point at others don't we ..
chazz LUCAS right maximize profits... Pay 100 sell for 1500 that's just scamming your customers buddy there's business done above board and then there's a pawn shop
When I first saw this story, I wondered if I paid to much to hear it and after I realized it was free I was still saddened because I can't resell this video at a profit.
There wasn't any backdoor business going on with that Jimi Hendrix guitar. Rick is in the business of making a profit from the items he purchases and the guitar expert is a collector, two totally different markets and price points. Reagan wanted in The Collector did, it's as simple as that.
Customer: I brought in the hope diamond Rick Harrison: let me call a expert 'expert comes in and looks at the diamond' expert: this is the hope diamond its authentic rick Harrison: how much is it worth? Expert: 422 million dollars. Customer: so you wanna make a deal rick how about 200 million dollars Rick Harrison: the most I can go is 200 dollars and a blt sandwich cause I'm taking all the risk here customer: 222 million dollars Rick Harrison: I'm getting really risky here so I'm offering 201 dollars and the blt sandwich final offer no negotiations customer: I'll pass rick; ok now I'm really risking everything including my business so 222 dollars and the blt seriously I'm taking a lot of risk here. Customer walks out the door. Rick Harrison: damn it
I asked Rick Harrison for change for a Dollar, he told me that the best he could do is 50cents and that he is taking all the risks.
Christopher Cruz nice!
aperson commenting thanks
lol
lol
Christopher Cruz that's my boy Rick lol
"Excuse me Rick, can I get change for this dollar?"
"Sorry kid, the best I can do is 75 cents"
Why add snippets of things then cut to something completely different? The banjo, the witch book for example.
Oh yeah, to drag the video over 10 minutes.
Bennie Bounce I
Yea this is some weird, bad editing
I honestly couldn't think of a worse way to get to 10 mins. He literally could've just found 2-3 more things and added them into the video...

Now they dont buy anything without "calling a guy"
Mike Jackson and even when they "call a buddy" the guy is the one trying to sell the item and he evaluate it upward. Heard this from another's video. Mike Jackson except for chum he doesn’t call anyone just buys with no expert

@Taylor Craig Thank you
"hey Rick give that wrench 6 inches away from me"
Rick: "sorry I can only do you 2 inches
Oddly, there is nothing in the sidebar mentioning the top 1,000,000,000 times these guys screwed other people.
How do they screw people over? The experts say it's valued at x amount of dollars, they offer x amount of dollars to the seller and they have the choice of selling it or walking away. actually the first video that comes up for me is "times the pawn stars have seriously cheated customers"
Bingo said that 🤘😅
They deserve. They do the same to people who come with original rare items. Instant karma
+Lorenz Kozz ho
I wouldn't call it INSTANT karma
Always leave something to earn for the next in line. If you are just some guy wanting the full price, go ahead and find someone willing to pay that. After all the people that they screwed over with their resale spew.... I'm happy to say " ha ha " 😂
ATTENTION ALL NEVER SELL TO THIS PAWN SHOP YOU GET SOMETHING THATS WORTH 100K THEY’RE GONNA GIVE YOU MAX 15K
Rick looked really disappointed when he realized that he lost over $100,000 at the auction
what I asked Rick Harrison I need change for $20 he said that I need to bring in an expert
He would also ask if you had any paperwork on that 20. Even then, he would be taking all the risks. Pawn Stars could use a trimming now and then.

It's scripted James... Chum Fatlee is literally a paid actor
LegionaryWithAGladius ...
Right you are. They are easy to watch, but like you said, it’s all scripted. Just like wrestling, entertainment!
Lewis & Random Content yea right
Or when they didn't agree on the price, he bought it himself and auctioned it

10 000 times pawn star scammed people
I got scammed watching this video. Play button wasn’t even in it
Lost 100K dollars, for which the taxpayers quickly picked up the tab.People, it's a business.... They suffered NADA. Tax write offs...
Lol they be busting peoples head on live television everyday
Conclusion: That's the life of a Real Hustler. One day you win some , one day you lose some. Vegas Spirit.
Wow. I can't imagine that people pay thousands for old junk and call them collectibles.
burgerking foot lettuce hit puberty and started a new channel
I watched that episode today with the instrument that Chumlee payed $1500 for lol
you know what they say, you never know what's gonna walk through that door
Losing $100K to Rick is like me losing $10. A shame, but no big deal.
They need to get ripped off.
I mean, you go in there looking to pawn an item and you always come out much less than what you had hoped for.
I get the idea that after so long an item loses some of its value in most cases but they offer way too low and I bet you can go in there and their prices are unreasonably sky high.

those people can always go sell their stuff themselves
to be honest, sometime i feel the same way.
Scammers got scammed? OH NO
Number 15, Burger King foot lettuce
Splicing in unrelated purchases between the actual scam items of interest is one the most annoying things you can do.
This was a horrible show. To have it on the History Channel was insult to injury. NOT sorry I cut the cable umbilical. Now I watch what I want with little or no commercials.
I cut out cable over 11 years ago and honestly haven't missed it one bit. Netflix and the internet is the way to go.
Inu no Taisho is anime better weeb ?
At least it's not backwood hicks, one of those those ones about people trying to solve mysteries that got solved years ago & either they refuse to believe it or no one told them(looking at you Roanoke), or one of those conspiracy shows that would make even Alex Jones go, "that sounds really dumb"
Uh... congrats?
That's me too. I missed it at first, but now it's not even on my mind.
The play button was unbox therapy's xD
I’m glad they got SCAMMED 🤣🤣🤣
Lessons are HUGE when U R A Pawn Star or Life in general
i thought that bald guy was bruce willis
'Pawn Stars' This show should be re named to ' I'll give you 20 bucks'.
When you go there in person, it’s so small I’m person you won’t think it’s the same shop
i hate people that try to get more out of what Rick is trying to give the guy. like, the hendrix strat, like dude, he is offering you *FOUR HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS.* now i get the guitar is worth a million, but, rick needs to make a profit too. and you're getting 450 grand, and even 600 grand when offered that. some people, man.
Music did my head in!
Way to regurgitate a different video, then turn off “Ratings” so people can’t see your ratio. Sad.
When they made $15,000 to $25,000 per episode, they didn't lose much...
Why do people even go to pawn shops? It's like going to gamestop but worst -___-
I know it's worth a million dollars but i can only give you twenty five cents for it
superjam18
And I’m taking a risk here
Good they get scammed sometimes, because they rip so many people off!
when the bee gets stung
If your getting paid 100's of thousands of dollars, if not millions to do a show, they'd have to really get ripped off to actually get ripped off. I am sure they move forward with getting ripped off because it makes good TV, in real life I am sure they would be for careful.
This show has done it's time. Cancel it already.
steven simmons kpshr
steven simmons fuck you
I hate watching 2 seconds of a clip and being forced to watch you talk for 5 minutes when I just want you to play the clip and say how much he got ripped off.
Just over 10 minutes coool

RIP “the old man”
lol "One of the best shows in History Channel"
Vic Flick: the man who played the guitar part for the original James Bond Theme.
However, it wasn't on the Stratocaster featured in this clip
That’s what they get for always scamming everybody...
Hi I'm Rick Harrison and this, is
*A DEAD MEME*
Pay 100 sell for 1500 that's just scamming your customers buddy there's business done above board and then there's a pawn shop
schwarts bewithyou No a scam, would be to trick them, no one is forcing them to sell
chazz LUCAS when your honest in your nature and in your business there is no finger pointing 👍🏻that would be a thumbs up if you know the difference 😂
A guy bought my brothers dirtbike blew it up and sold it to pawn stars
chick brings in an " autographed" poison album. To make sure its real he takes it and her to see Bret Michaels. Very cool. 😎👍

As many times as you I Saw him get over on people he deserves to get scammed every time 💯
They pay 4000 dollar for 6 rolex watches? WHAT? such a scammers, good they got scammed
Concerning the end of the video: Why would I love a thumbsup? You hide your like/dislike ratio.
Why does it show a RUclips golden play button with “1,000,000” written on it? They never bought that.
Also known as 'ten times I didn't know a guy'
The thumbnail scammed me to clicking on this video.
There's always someone better than you...~Master Roshi
Running 8 years and 522 episodes, with untold re-runs... Who exactly got scammed here? Consider your "10" a blessing. Now please go away.
With as many people as they rip off, that's just a little karma coming back on em.
serves em right, they're always lowballing their sellers
Why didn’t they call their buddy the expert😂😂😂😂
i brought in the basket moses floated down the nile river in but rick said he could only give me 100 bucks because "it had water damage"
For me losing 10$ sucks so much, imagine Rick lose 100k😲
You're showing the F5 mandolin model while it was a A model he bought...
That thumbnail though
