7:10 The information from here on is sorta misleading. They say the Titanic was travelling fast, as they were behind schedule, and didn't want to lose their reputation. This is false. What really happened, was that the head of the White Star line, the company that owned the Titanic, Bruce Ismay, wanted to set a new world record for Atlantic crossing, so pressured Captain Smith into going faster, and maintaining speed when icebergs were sighted. Additionally, the fire in the ship's hull was in one of the coal bunkers. This meant that the coal that was on fire, was spreading quickly. The only way to get rid of the coal on fire, was to shovel it into the furnaces, and power the engines. This continuous shovelling didn't help, and the fire remained, as the firemen (The people who shovelled the coal) couldn't shovel fast enough. While this was happening, the more coal was shovelled into the engines, the faster the ship travelled. There was only just enough coal in the ship to get it to New York, so the ship management decided to keep up the speed, lest they get stranded at sea. Additionally, the lifeboat reduction was supported by Alexander Carlisle, but the main influence to this idea, was again, Bruce Ismay. He believed that the lifeboats cluttered up the first class promenade deck too much, and wanted them removed. Thomas Andrews, the person who was overseeing and designing the Titanic along with Alexander Carlisle, had a lot of suggestions, primarily that there should have been at least 48 lifeboats on board, but he was overruled on this, along with his suggestions of a double hull and watertight bulkheads that went up to the B deck, that could have stopped the Titanic from sinking. Additionally, at 9:45, it was stated that the lookouts on the Californian did not spot the flares sent up by the titanic. The flares were spotted, and the captain of the Californian, captain Lord, dismissed the flares as another ship just having a party. This was later proven through first hand evidence as the records of the court case that followed were recovered, and an officer stated the fact. pls like this took really long .
I am not particularly interested in the titanic as this was just one of those odd RUclips algorithm recommendations but I like the fact that the reason you ask for a like is because it took you a long time to type that stuff😂😂😂
So much of this is wrong. Yes, there was a small fire on the Titanic, but it did not cause any major damage and was extinguished long before Titanic hit the iceberg. Also small fires in coal bunkers was common back them in ships. Titanic also had enough coal to get to New York. It's a theory that Bruce Ismay told Captain Smith to make the ship go faster. Normally ships back then didn't have enough lifeboats and it was perfectly legal to carry the number of lifeboats Titanic was carrying.
PepicWalrus WITH added buoyancy. They would have had to tie life jackets to the wood in order to keep it floating enough to keep enough of their bodies out of the water so they wouldn't get hypothermia and freeze to death. When you are panicking and freezing, you aren't going to think about trying life jackets to the wood to stay afloat.
I stayed at a hotel one night and had this dream that there was this kid lighting s fire. He burned the place down. I woke up and told my mom and she told me that the hotel had been rebuilt after burning to the ground.
The ship had 3 financial titans that were against the US having a federal reserve, Astor being one of them I believe. The federal reserve came into being about a year after the sinking in 1913.
You must mean Astor & Guggenheim, who had never expressed their opinions about the Fed., whereas Straus had already spoken in support of it, I assume? Don't believe the recently invented myths you see in conspiracist videos.
Ive heard that some captains of large industries in America who were on board were against the Federal Reserve which came in to being in 1913 a year after she sank Ive also heard several old timers saying she was on fire before leaving Cobh in Cork Ireland 🇮🇪
I’ll make it creeper and more scary the titanic sank. In the vid he said they did dog training in the film two dogs get on but yet you don’t see them at all in the movie and there was no dog bodies found HOWS THAT FOR CREEPY
Engineering student here, one of my professors explained what happened today actually. The fire was not necessary to cause the weakness. Back then they used rivets to put together the ship, but the rivets were of varying carbon content. The cold water (which they did not take into account for testing the rivets for shear stress) caused the rivets to become brittle, so when the iceberg was struck, the rivets all shattered causing the big hole. If they had used better rivets/teared them or had been in warm water, the sink wouldn’t have happened
King Ajacks Not that much. If the iceberg struck up to the 5 watertight compartment while the ship was turning away from the iceberg, the damage would've been a bit less. It'll just be a bunch of tiny leaks if stronger rivets were used.
Zachary Hering I've been having this thought for a while too. I also studied Engineering before and the Titanic also became a topic in one of our lessons.
The fire is well known. It was the subject of a TV documentary a few years back. The fire was in one of the coal bunkers, and in the documentary it distorted one of the doors between compartments meant to stop water flowing into the next compartment. Binoculars - there were binoculars but they were locked away and one of the officers who was not on the ship at the time had the only key.
@@Nooziterp1 This video is certainly not a documentary. Bright Side is one of the least reliable sources I have ever seen on RUclips. One of their other videos tells the story of a supposed survivor who was never on the ship in the first place.
@@Nooziterp1don't trust anything that says titanic was doomed by a fire. Coal bunker fires were common for steam shops and it wouldn't cause anh warping due to the coal not burning hot enough

My grandfather told me that he saw The Titanic, and that from the beginning he warned all the people that the boat would sink, but they ignored him, however they were warned again on several occassions, until they kicked him out the cinema
Yeah and the once who got first thought we are the luckiest and blessed and after the ship sank they'll say what in the titanic is going on what the heck yeah I'm the unluckiest of all we are cursed
But t'was a privilege to die overseas in a famous ship.... Still Di Caprio is being appreciated for his wonderful job in titanic Btw..... uve got a good sense of humour
From a book i read in primary school the youngest person was 6month old rose who passed away on the 30th may 2009 And with her mum and brother were 2nd class. Unfortunately her 9yr old brother died in the sinking and her mum died in the 1940s unfortunately that be all the info i could get on this family

I read that the Titanic was speeding because the fire was still raging in the coal bunker. Unable to put it out they instead tried to empty it into the boilers. This meant there was too much steam so they had no choice but to go faster. But to compensate Captain Smith sailed even further south than planned to avoid the ice field, but ended up scraping the edge of it. I also read that the fire damaged the wall between compartment 5 and 6. The Titanic could still float with 5 compartments flooded. She just wasn't sea worthy to sail. But the damaged compartment collapsed after the pressure of the water behind it got too great. So on that night everything that could possibly have gone wrong, went wrong. Had just one condition been different the ship and its passenger could've survived.
TimeLordParadox Great recent Smithsonian Channel program on the new findings about the coal bunker fire(s). Sounds like you may have even seen it. Pressure to make the voyage regardless put a number of variables in play, and true to Murphy’s laws, they ganged up to doom the ship. As mentioned, take any one or two out, and Titanic may have simply slipped into the cobwebs of ship travel history at the end of her days.
There was a huge flames at the bottom of Titanic, which badly damaged the stainless steel partition of one watertight compartment. When sea water flooded in, the partition was unable to protect itself and was broken. Therefore, sea water continued to sink Titanic down. ( Information from National Geographic)
Yep..I too had an obsession about Titanic a few years back... okay like 10yrs or 15🤣🤣🤣 then I realized that life is like a box of bull$#%@, everybody lies and the only hope anyone has is critical thinking.
Or when they think life boats look yucky. Eeeewww the life boats are blocking my view. Or when they are so arrogant they believe there is no need for lifeboats.
Wow, the Titanic was such a fascinating and tragic event in history. After watching this video, I couldn't help but wonder about all the different factors that could have contributed to the accident. Some theories suggest that the lack of sufficient lifeboats played a significant role, while others point to the high speed the ship was traveling at, not allowing enough time to react to the iceberg. Additionally, there are discussions about the design flaws and the use of inferior materials in the construction of the ship. I'm really interested in hearing your thoughts and theories on what might have caused the Titanic disaster. Let's dive into the various possibilities and unravel the mysteries surrounding this iconic event! Would anybody like to join me for this journey?
Do some searching, and you'll find a vid on YT about explosions heard before hitting the iceberg... There's more to the story than the builder/country wanted people to know.

There was someone who was apart of the titanic team, said to take 46 lifeboats enough for everyone, but the request was denied and the captain Edward Smith reduced it down to 20
Three days before the Titanic sank, my grandmother had a very vivid dream that it would sink. She wasn't surprised she dreamed about the ship, because she said it was in the news constantly. But she was surprised that it sank, because it wasn't supposed to. She didn't think her dream was prophetic; it just seemed like a crazy dream. She told her friends, and they agreed that it was a crazy dream. Then it did sink, and her friends gave her some odd looks.
@@margarettereyes6589 That would make sense if she had told them AFTER it sank. But she told them before it sank. And before it sank, no one was saying it was going to sink.
The notion that the ship was 'unsinkable' was a popular claim due to the construction of its numerous water-tight compartments. Of course no one thought that in the absolute sense, but it was considered extremely safe. Therefore it is no wonder that if anyone claimed otherwise they would be remembered --- either as a kook or psychic or you-name-it. If the ship did not sink, they would soon be forgotten, along with their claim. But if it did sink then they would be remembered as having some mysterious insight. So I'm sure your grandmother wasn't the only one making such a claim, and unless she predicted the shuttle disaster, the world trade towers (both times) or the tsunami in Japan I would just consider it a mild coincidence.
The sad thing is there was a ship called the Wilhelm Gustloff. It sank in 60minutes and killed around 9,000 people and yet almost no one knows about it.
Well I have a story my grandma always reminded me that she saved her father life well my great grandfather was about to go to a ship And my grandmother had a bad dream so he didn’t get to go later I found out my grandfather was heading to the Same location as the titanic at the same day as the titanic April 14th 1912 and I just realized he missed the titanic ❤this is been in my mind for 12years
Liar. The TITANIC did not make stops for passengers on April 14, it was in the middle of the Atlantic at that time. The final stop was in Ireland 3 days prior. Nice try!
Zymon Ramirez *sighs* , in 2018 people have phones, bugattis and and enough money to create three more Titanics. But aliens? Mhm-mm, no. Be logical. I would rather buy the good old lie when you tell your mom that you're going to a school study, but really you're going clubbing with 5 girls and 8 boys, and ends up having a one night stand with a complete stranger, and cover it up on Mothers Day by singing Mama to your mom. x3
My great great grandpa was born the day Titanic sunk...he's called Titanic-boy Edit: sorry to people who think I'm lying, Titanic-boy was his nickname, and also a baby is born everyday
@Daris French a camera from the wreck? 😅sorry I don't understand. If it is, take good care of it! 😊👏 It's the only remembrance in the world from Titanic.
@Daris French Wow. It is awesome. 😊Even I haven't been to a museum. Someday I will. Titanic is such a beauty. There's just something in her that isn't felt in other history of ships that sank. The cruise ship Concordia that tilted sidewards isn't compared to the mystery of Titanic.
No, it wasn't. The purpose of binoculars was to indentify objects which had already been spotted. In Titanic's case, the lookouts rang the alarm bell as soon as the iceberg was seen. Oh, and the locked box myth about the binoculars is just that. A myth.
it wasn't important to have the binoculars at all. because it was extremely dark that night, there was no moon at all, so what would have been the point in binoculars to extend their vision if they basically had little to no vision of the sea ahead
There are other theories: They used brittle steel. One hit caused lots of rivets giving way. Survivors heard the sound likee a piano. The second hull, safety holds didn't go all the way to the top. Once the one with the hole filled, it started filling the next and gradually they filled faster and faster. Other theory was that White Star had two ships and changed names on on due to a fire and sacrificed one.
If the steel was 'brittle' how is it that Olympic operated successfully until 1934? The theory that White Star swapped ships is not a theory at all. It is a myth, concocted in the mid 1990s, without a scintilla of evidence to support it.
So, I am at 0:57 in the video, and I will attempt to guess what the main topic of the video will be. Basically, the Titanic wasn’t really sank by the iceberg, it was because of many factors, the main ones being that the walls and ceilings separating the generators were poorly made, so the water was able to swamp in and destroy all of them. Also, at the same time that the Titanic hit the iceberg, one of the generators had exploded, blowing a giant hole in the side of the ship. Fun Fact: the Titanic only used three out of the four of its steam funnels, the fourth one was made for symmetric and architectural design.
The Zesty Potato. great point. But the generators were called boilers and the steam funnels were called smokestacks. Sorry if I made you mad. i just have this thing. so please forgive me.
*It was because the ship was made from Cast Iron which is hard but brittle.Back then they used to believe Cast Iron is the best metal but actually it is brittle so when struck with iceberg it cracked*
Rishabh Sharma another doc focused on that and the currents that drew the icebergs southward. According to that doc, the water was significantly colder than the air right there and significantly colder than the water temp during most of the trip. That may have played in to a night time mirage effect that made the iceberg nearly invisible until they were very close to the ship, and might explain why another ship appeared to be closer or further than it was. Moving into waters suddenly colder may have also contributed to the brittleness of the hull. According to the doc, nothing is certain but it does line up with the known facts and could explain some of the mysteries.
I can't remember if it was on a TV show or in an article, but the bolts that held the Titanic were substandard, which cause the parts of the Titanic to buckle and break.
stacia parkes the ship was safe enough, it was just a series of events that were the undoing of the ship. It’s made of iron not an indestructible force.
3 wealthy bankers who would have voted AGAINST the creation of the Federal Reserve Bank, died on the Titanic and the resulting defecit of votes against the FEDs' creation, was a result of their, allegedly, premeditated demise.
I honestly believe it was 3 factors that sunk the ship. Brittle steel, both in the rivets and the plating, the fire that had been burning for a long time before the ship even sailed and the iceberg itself. All 3 combined was too much for the titanic.
They have known about the fire since 1912. There was never any reports of any real damage. There is no evidence that the fire caused significant damage. There is a picture of a black spot on the haul about 50 ft away from the boiler room where the fire was.
First I must applaud the maker of this video because he mentioned certain research that most sources fail to mention. This includes the lifeboat regulations and the mirage theory; presenting multiple perspectives to each controversy. He however fails to this on the “fire incident” but more on that later. Secondly, all general knowledge in the Titanic was exceedingly outstanding and accurate except for the mentioning of the Chief designer of the Titanic of which he credits Alexander Carlisle. This being a simple mistake because he was a popular Olympic class ship designer of his time but the real credit belongs to Thomas Andrews. I must start off that I didn’t know that the funnels so tall in order to prevent smoke inhaling in the passengers which was enlightening. Secondly, I have never heard of the “mining bankruptcy” and will have to do more research; hats off to new ideas! Now on the fire topic. The debate usually starts with the picture called “the smudged photo” as credited by journalist Senna Maloney. Most sources however fail to credit that this photo was taken in Belfast, Ireland by a 1911 Kodak Camera, a faulty camera of its time. As a side note, ships during this time were painted black because coal was entered manually through ships, often leaving smudges. On the topic of its sail date (April 10th) in Southampton, it is claimed that the ship was on its port side to hide the “smudge” because earlier, Titanic’s sister ship “Olympic” was on its starboard side. Historical account made by Thomas Andrews himself changed the direction of boarding in order to make Titanic different from Olympic as they were nearly twins by structure and interior. So no, Mr. Andrews intention wasn’t to hide a smudge but to make the liner appear unique in every way possible. Additionally, this “smudge” is about where the 3rd cargo hatch was, the squash court, and the forward well deck. The coal fire was in boiler room 6 which is opposite in location from the “smudge”. Now, I am not denying a coal fire, there was one. But according to account, was put out either the 13th or 14th during the voyage. To stop a coal fire (which was also common in ships in this time), one must take the wet coal from the top must be removed. Titanic’s 12 firemen moved 3 tons of coal to the port side of the ship causing a 3 degree tilt (measured by second class passenger and scientist Lawerence Beasley). This according to historian Park Stephenson was “Titanic’s Guardian Angel” because unlike Titanic’s other sister ship Britannia, Titanic never capsized which is uncommon due to the 12 foot gash caused by the iceberg. Because of the tilt, the list to the port side significantly caused Titanic to sink in almost 3 hours; another strange occurrence since Britannic sank in about an hour. In fact, both the American and British inquired done by their government knew about the fire but dismissed is relevancy because the fire was put out. Moreover, I must applaud the mention of lifeboat regulations as indeed it was based on tonnage not passenger numbers. However, Titanic actually had 4 more then what was required by the regulations (16 as opposed to 20). As stated in the 20th anniversary celebration of the Titanic movie in a documentary with James Cameron, his historian Ken Marschall claimed that more lifeboats would’ve possibly meant less survivors because the process took to long and for some officers was there first time doing it. In fact, the last 2 lifeboats (collapsibles) we’re floated off due to running out of time. Lifeboats not being filled full was indeed an effect of the unwillingness to leave but also because passengers didn’t understand the danger of the situation until it was too late. As they were rallied up and waiting inside to be put into lifeboats, steam was being let off of the ship so that once the boilers touched water, they didn’t explode. Passengers were uncomfortable because this was extremely loud and they simply didn’t see the lint of waiting in the cold if nothing was wrong. Next off, Captain Smith having failed his sea trails is in fact true. But he wasn’t hired in Titanic for no reason as he was often referred to as the “Millionares captain” and was set retire after Titanic’s maiden voyage and previously working in Olympic. The Californian controversy is a huge topic and personally, I don’t blame the Captain as they simply were to far away to receive any light signals. Also, Marconi wireless systems didn’t require service 24/7, so the telegraphs were often down because the operator was asleep. Titanic lucked out with the Carparthia’s contact. This leading into the Mirage theory which is awesomely stated by the is video and must receive credit for even bringing the idea up. The Titanic channel does a video explaining the light refraction and additionally bringing up cold fronts and how this affecting Murdoch’s, Regional Lee’s, Boxhall’s, and Barrett’s perception of the collusion. I’d like to finally conclude by saying that this video beautifully brings up new theories and further debate which is awesome in itself.
....then who did sink it? ship builder challenged with God, and then God proven he’s the only doer and controller this universe cause he “Allah” is the creator!
Yeah , I used to ask my Grandfather about it (he is still alive but he has forgotten all this), he had heard all this from my Great grandfather who was 20 something At that time , my Grandfather told me , it really didn't bothered them, when I have asked him why, he has said me at that time wars were going and many people were doing and the number was much more the people who had died from Titanic, + at that time the British rule was going in India, so it really didn't bothered them at that time
"if not for the fire, it would've been impossible." That is just idiotic. A ship hitting any large stationary object below the waterline while at speed will have its hull compromised. Look no further than Costa Concordia or contemporary ships of Titanic's era. She wasn't the first ship to sink from striking an iceberg, which is why other ships were so adamant in sending ice warnings via the wireless.
and both are large solid objects which will breach the hull of any vessel impacting them at speeds of 20+. knots. Dozens of ships before and after Titanic were sunk by icebergs in the North Atlantic. I'm sorry that basic physics is beyond your grasp.
Ben the ship was made so they didn’t have to worry but with the fire they didn’t want to cancel the project so they wouldn’t go in debt see and because of how long the fire was there it deteriorated the metal enough so the iceberg could break it
The company was owned by JP Morgan so I don't think bankruptcy or debt were serious concerns. Seriously, do some actual reading and find sources that are not some clickbait youtube channel. Also, the breach of the hull was well forward of the coal bunkers so 1: there was no fire in the breached area and 2: no matter what the condition of the ship was, hitting millions of pounds of ice at that speed would puncture the hull. It's basic physics
Can you imagine if those binoculars were found by someone who visits the titanic often like James Cameron or someone else? I mean, I know those binoculars are probably long gone by now, being in over 12,000 feet deep of ocean water, but still, the imagination of those binoculars being found today is quite interesting.
Only to discover you can’t see in the dark. They did have binoculars from the Titanic in one of the museums but again I don’t think they had night vision back then. Radar didn’t come along until WW ll.
Due to the rare sea and night conditions coinciding, the lookout would not have seen the iceberg until it was too late. The ocean was calm and the night was pitch-black, thus there was no reflection of light off either the 'berg, or the sea.
WRONG! The binoculars were locked away in a storage room by an officer who had the ONLY key to the room. He was fired so wasn't on the boat. And was in such a hurry to get off the boat he never gave the key back to the Captain.
I think I understood that. i am also very intrested and have spent about 3 years searching for facts. i love and know everything about this ship like the back of my hand. or paw, how would you know?
Bloop Blooper Heads up to anyone watching this, 90% of it is false. The "Coal Fire" Theory is completely wrong in context. The pictures showing this "Smudge" first off was not at the location of the fire which was 50 feet back, secondly the smudge is above the waterline so it couldn't have done anything. Binoculars would not have done anything either as one uses binoculars to identify objects, not spot them. Even if they did have have them First officer Murdoch spotted the berg before them as lookout Fleet said that while he was telephoning the bridge the ship was already turning. Also the lifeboat drill section is completely false, the reason it took 30 minutes to launch them was because they where doing all the boats at once so in essence in 30 minutes they did 20 boats, even modern replicas and recreation show that even people today cannot find out how Titanic crew launched all the lifeboats in a hour and half as tests show that it should have taken around 2 hours. Even the coal fire theory most Titanic historians challenge it and think that fire saved 700 people. It's a long topic so if anyone want to check it head to these videos ruclips.net/video/w3cpXbVGYxk/видео.html ruclips.net/video/NfSa8kqqfYg/видео.html
I have spent around 8 months researching the Titanic (I’m kinda obsessed). I did stumble across an extract from the US inquiry that spoke of a fire in boiler room #5, which weakened bulkhead E. This fire did not cause a dark spot on the hull. Also, the Titanic was not docked differently. All ships are docked in the same way, no exceptions. Fourth, the ship had 6 pairs of binoculars, but none were given to the lookouts. Lastly, binoculars wouldn’t have helped because the lookouts were trained not to use binoculars, since they decreased your field of vision. PS: The fire lasted for one week, not three. The Titanic only had coal, or anything flammable in that case, for less than two weeks.
YES! Yes to all of this! I've been obsessed for so long now lol. Also, they weren't going at some breakneck speed. There were traveling at about 22.5 knots, and the last boiler hadn't even been lit. That ship was capable of at least 25 knots. The White Star Line knew they weren't gonna be winning any races against Cunard's Mauretania or Lusitania, and instead opted to focus on providing luxury that no other ship at the time had ever attempted, and they were making good time, so there wouldn't have been any reason to overwork the ship for that reason. At the time, it wasn't seen as out of the ordinary for a ship to travel that fast, even in an ice field, especially in weather that was as clear as it was that night. They figured that the lookouts would be able to spot anything in time for them to change course safely.
At 4:01 The iceberg was easily able to cut the whole in pieces since ships back during the Edwardian Age were made to be brittle if not, they would easily break in half during giant waves or storms
The watch on the Californian did see the distress signals from Titanic and reported it to the captain. I don't recall the details, but because of the color of flares they were using, the Californian captain thought they were shooting fireworks and told the watch to keep an eye on it and let him know if the colors changed. Also, the Marconi radio operators aboard Californian had gone to bed so there was no one to receive the radio signal from Titanic. After the sinking, they changed the maritime laws so that ships with radios had to have an operator working at all times. So many small things that, had even one been changed, would have made such a big difference in the outcome.
So basically, all parties involved were such boneheads, they effectively did a quantum leap for natural selection. I know hind sight is 20/20, I dont mean to be cold, but when you hear about how much liquor they stocked up on but couldn't be bothered with a few extra lifeboats, or even to fill up the life boats they did have smh. >_
Well not really, liquor had nothing to do with anything... Titanic was overloaded with lifeboats, 4 more than was required by the IMM, more boats would clog the deck and cause everything to slow down and become highly dangerous, more boats would've killed more people in Titanics case since there was only 16 Davits.... And no one thought the ship was really sinking and were reluctant to get into the boats for a mere drill... So most boats launched partially full, however once people saw the bow dissappear under water panic slow set in and the remaining boats were launched full
There's an eye witness testimony on a RUclips video from a woman who was 7 years old when the titanic sank who claims that the California was only a few hundred yards away from the titanic while it sank. She said she could see it from her lifeboat, clear as day. I'm not sure how true that really is but its chilling to hear the story.
Titanic is one of my favourite movies of all time never gets old the chemistry between all of the actors is undeniably for over a 3 hour movie it flows perfectly no boring drawn out dialogue next thing it’s is over. Bravo James Cameron.😊
The ludicrous video could lead some to believe that. I know you're not serious, but others are just not always clever enough to tell the difference. Why most of them are actually giving LIKES to this video.
This would be so funny re-enacted by the cast from Gilligan's island. I can imagine my Howell being the first one on the life boat while Maryanne is trapped below decks with 3rd class patrons. The professor would be delivering the bad news to the skipper, "this ship will sink. She's made of iron. It's a mathmatical certainty." Ginger would be up on deck singing "I wanna be loved by you". Gilligan would be making Mia culpa faces to the skipper for not warning him about the iceberg in time. And lovvie would be going back to her suite to pack her many trunks.
The iceberg didn't "tear a hole in the ship". It slammed into the hull plates, causing them to buckle and the rivets (which were already under a lot of stress) to snap off.
@@OutragedPufferfish Wikipedia, 882 and a half answers to your questions about the Titanic (book), New York Times, CBS news, and half a dozen other sources that say the same thing
the reason why titanic sank bc of a huge fire cause the durability of the hull plates went down from 100 to 25% and plus the the collision between the ship and the iceberg make the ship sink faster
It's sad that class is so important. The staff locked the lower classes in their rooms to die so that they wouldn't try to run out before the rich classes. Also, some safety boats were detached after the rich people got on because they didn't want to be in the same safety boat as people of a lower class, even if there was room left.
@@its.rachel No, you are not wrong, the class system is still alive and working. The upper class, gets more then they need, and the lower class, gets less than they need. That is the reason, so many people are starving, and living on the street.
It really has NOTHING to do with high/low class. It has to do with what you are willing to pay for a ticket. For example, you have the option to buy a $2000.00 front row seat at games/music halls or boxing ring, or a S25 ticket behind a steel column all the way in the back of the room. You can buy a $59.00 plane ticket near the tail section of the plane with a bag of peanuts and a drink, or a $2500.00 ticket in first class section of the plane right behind the pilot's cabin door and enjoy a fine pre-ordered meal of your choice. WHY does it always have to be about race, color or personal financial status?
Background soundtracks in movies and videos are what captures the moment and personally for me makes it more interesting not saying you're wrong but yo just what I think tbh
ViperBros no the reason why im saying no is because when the titanic went down part of my family was on it and they survived and they have been telling they kids before they died and in 2016 my nan died but before she did she told me to tell my mum that it is true and it was actually on a quest to explore the world with billions of people
True theres really a true coal fire that was burning in the coal bunker that was burning since they left belfast and was only put out on april 13 to put the fire out they have to move the coal’s from that coal bunkers to the port coal bunkers that causes the ship to list a 3 degree to her port side but the fire has nothing to do with the collision with the iceberg.
Burning yes but not burning as a wood fire does. Heat treated the side of the ship weakening it , and a captain who was more concerned as a company man .
+Magnus Walander It's not. In fact, the fire that they mentioned didn't actually weaken the hull as they claimed. They exaggerated the fire to an extreme. No black mark was left on the ship and the fire didn't last anywhere close to 3 weeks.
Magnus Walander i already seen a documentary before, it was the wrong rivets used that meant the iceberg sunk the ship, had they used the required strengthened rivets, the ship would have been fine, but they used ones that shattered on impact. I don't buy into this fire theory, how does a fire burn for 3 weeks on a ship in a dock, just wouldnt happen
Most of this is true. Titanic was fatally crippled by the fire but it wasn't where the ship hit. The fire compromised the water tight bulkheads and caused a weight differential between port and starboard as they removed coal from the fire location. Ironically that weight differential was responsible for both, why the iceberg strike did so much damage and why Titanic stayed afloat far longer than expected. The ship was already listing a few degrees away from the iceberg when it hit so the hit was further down on the hull than it would've been otherwise. However, then the extra weight on the opposite side kept the ship upright as the water rushed in and balanced the weight. The bigger issue though is what happened when freezing cold water hit the boiler and coal storage where the ongoing fire had been. Explorers who have been to Titanic have noted that this boiler did explode at some point during the sinking and no doubt the water tight bulkheads were compromised the same way. Either way though, the biggest tragedy of the story is one we really need to take the most note of. The fact that big business decided to cover up so much about the tragedy to avoid liability at the cost of human life and avoiding paying reperations for such. This is exactly what happens when business is left deregulated. If there's no incentive to play fair, they wont. There is no such thing as a natural free market without rampant corruption and the tragedy of Titanic is one of the biggest examples of that
My dad saw the launch as a 5 year old, he was there with his mother because his dad's uncle was a passenger. Dad always said he remembered the way some parts of the water touching the ship had smoke on it.I think smoke and steam would be pretty much the same thing to a kid of his age

The information from here on is sorta misleading. This was later proven through first hand evidence as the records of the court case that followed were recovered, and an officer stated the fact.
pls like this took really long

I am not particularly interested in the titanic as this was just one of those odd RUclips algorithm recommendations but I like the fact that the reason you ask for a like is because it took you a long time to type that stuff😂😂😂
Wow you know alot about this
Well, the video is old, and youre putting new info. So he didn't lie on purpose.

They would have had to tie life jackets to the wood in order to keep it floating enough to keep enough of their bodies out of the water so they wouldn't get hypothermia and freeze to death. When you are panicking and freezing, you aren't going to think about trying life jackets to the wood to stay afloat.

Engineering student here, one of my professors explained what happened today actually. The fire was not necessary to cause the weakness. Back then they used rivets to put together the ship, but the rivets were of varying carbon content. The cold water (which they did not take into account for testing the rivets for shear stress) caused the rivets to become brittle, so when the iceberg was struck, the rivets all shattered causing the big hole. If they had used better rivets/teared them or had been in warm water, the sink wouldn’t have happened
And your explanation seems much more plausible than that posed in this film. Thanks for the insight.
Underrated comment
King Ajacks Not that much. If the iceberg struck up to the 5 watertight compartment while the ship was turning away from the iceberg, the damage would've been a bit less. It'll just be a bunch of tiny leaks if stronger rivets were used.
Zachary Hering I've been having this thought for a while too. I also studied Engineering before and the Titanic also became a topic in one of our lessons.
You my good sir are correct
The fire is well known. It was the subject of a TV documentary a few years back. The fire was in one of the coal bunkers, and in the documentary it distorted one of the doors between compartments meant to stop water flowing into the next compartment. Binoculars - there were binoculars but they were locked away and one of the officers who was not on the ship at the time had the only key.
The bunker fire was well aft of the area of collision.

TimeLordParadox what a beautiful comment
Murphy had laws.
TimeLordParadox
Great recent Smithsonian Channel program on the new findings about the coal bunker fire(s).
I didn’t know that!
There was a huge flames at the bottom of Titanic, which badly damaged the stainless steel partition of one watertight compartment. When sea water flooded in, the partition was unable to protect itself and was broken. Therefore, sea water continued to sink Titanic down. ( Information from National Geographic)
Bottom line: People die when decisions are based on greed over need.

The reason why her friends gave her odd looks its because they think she made it all up
@@margarettereyes6589 That would make sense if she had told them AFTER it sank. But she told them before it sank. And before it sank, no one was saying it was going to sink.
😒 Right
The notion that the ship was 'unsinkable' was a popular claim due to the construction of its numerous water-tight compartments.

All of which have been disproven.

Right, it was all the bolts that held the metal pieces of the ship together
Rishabh Sharma another doc focused on that and the currents that drew the icebergs southward. According to that doc, the water was significantly colder than the air right there and significantly colder than the water temp during most of the trip. That may have played in to a night time mirage effect that made the iceberg nearly invisible until they were very close to the ship, and might explain why another ship appeared to be closer or further than it was. Moving into waters suddenly colder may have also contributed to the brittleness of the hull. According to the doc, nothing is certain but it does line up with the known facts and could explain some of the mysteries.
It was not made of cast iron....
it was made of cast iron
So could they have used Steel to build it then
I can't remember if it was on a TV show or in an article, but the bolts that held the Titanic were substandard, which cause the parts of the Titanic to buckle and break.

This isn't the cause of the sinking just a coincidence.
@@Crazyguy_123MC From one of these 3 bankers, one who also owned white star line and at time of departure of titanic he refused to on the board.
I honestly believe it was 3 factors that sunk the ship. Brittle steel, both in the rivets and the plating, the fire that had been burning for a long time before the ship even sailed and the iceberg itself. All 3 combined was too much for the titanic.
actually the coal fire helped the ship sink slower and not cause it to sink as the damage wasn't at the place of iceberg impact

Ben The Costa Concordia struck a rock. Your evidence is slighty irrelevant. As I could say the same for this theory.
and both are large solid objects which will breach the hull of any vessel impacting them at speeds of 20+.
Ben Is dumb.....dont be like ben
Can you imagine if those binoculars were found by someone who visits the titanic often like James Cameron or someone else?
I mean, I know those binoculars are probably long gone by now, being in over 12,000 feet deep of ocean water, but still, the imagination of those binoculars being found today is quite interesting.
The binoculars were never there. This is a total Red Herring, as the evidence given by the look outs at the US Inquiry made clear in April, 1912.

Bloop Blooper same here
THEY'RE WAS DOGS ANd people there...DOGS!
It's a long topic so if anyone want to check it head to these videos

The Titanic only had coal, or anything flammable in that case, for less than two weeks.
goodcat1982 I won’t argue with you there.
Amy Williams Thank you! At least I’m not the only one who knows the truth.

So many small things that, had even one been changed, would have made such a big difference in the outcome.
wouldve taken 3 hours to get to Titanic....Californian couldve never done anything anyways
greyeaglem thought you said macoroni not marconi

Also, some safety boats were detached after the rich people got on because they didn't want to be in the same safety boat as people of a lower class, even if there was room left.
Not really true, however some men in 3rd class at certain parts of the ship were kept down below because of the "women and children first" rule

How has a fire been burning for 3 weeks unnoticed, on a brand new ship? It seems very unlikely, quite impossible to me actually.
Plus, I don't believe there was just one pair of binoculars on the ship.
@@mr.juniii5523 l
I beleive this story.
Burning yes but not burning as a wood fire does. Heat treated the side of the ship weakening it , and a captain who was more concerned as a company man .
So the original reason was an ice berg, and now it's still... An ice berg? How is that debunking the original theory?
+Magnus Walander It's not. In fact, the fire that they mentioned didn't actually weaken the hull as they claimed. They exaggerated the fire to an extreme. No black mark was left on the ship and the fire didn't last anywhere close to 3 weeks.
Half-Life Scientist Exactly, how could the fire last 3 weeks anyways?
It's a clickbait lol.
Exactly, why would they burn the coals and start the fire 3 weeks before departure... Full clickbait exaggeration.
